      In 2019, we bought a new $10,000 hvac system and paid for a 10 year parts and labor warranty through a 3rd party company (JB Warranties). We have had multiple issues and had multiple call outs with *******, and each time they charge me for parts and labor and say it isnt covered under the warranty. It just broke down again, and ******* wont come out for 3 days. I called JB Warranties customer service. They advised: 1 ******* hasnt tried to file a claim on my behalf, 2 I cant file a claim directly, ******* has to, 3 ******* has to service my unit, I cant go with another hvac company and be covered under warranty, 4 I cant get my warranty refunded. I am stuck with a dishonest company trying to make money off selling s warranty and then charging me for parts and labor on every service call. They may also have sold me a lemon system, as it is always having problems.

      Hi there - we  received this complaint on June 27th. The homeowner contacted us on June 19th advising us that his contractor came out on June 14th to replace a capacitor. The contractor did not file a claim on his behalf. We agreed to reimburse the homeowner directly for the repair. He also mentioned the contractor had repaired his ductwork. While the warranty covers the labor on the capacitor change out, it does not cover repairs made external of the equipment (ductwork). This ductwork repair took place on 11/6/2023. The homeowner states this warranty should cover parts and labor - this is a labor + refrigerant only warranty (as stated clearly on page 1 of the agreement). The parts should be covered by the manufacturer. We believe we have been fair in issuing payment directly to the homeowner on the covered repairs. This sounds like an issue between the homeowner and contractor.
