I see why this company has a BBB D- score. 1. I hired professionals to install the awning. They installed the anchors on the house and when they removed the plastic wrap the awning was damaged. There was not any shipping that I could see, in addition it is not reasonable to think one deliverer can deliver an object that is large and heavy. I asked the deliverer if anything was placed on top or could have damaged the cargo, he said absolutely noAwning claims "Each Awntech awning is designed to be installed by DIYers constructing a DIY (Do It Yourself) project. Needless to say, this does not exclude contractors or ***********************." This is obviously not accurate. 2. AwnTech sent me a defect and dangerous product that needs to be removed and replaced by another awning vendor. The awning is not straight and is a dangerous hazard because not all the bolts can be used in the mounts (images attached). I am claiming this for future reference if damage or injury happens. Finally, the product must not have been tested or is a refurbished product. The end caps dont even stay in (image attached). I could not find anywhere in the manual that states I have to glue them.

We placed the order through houzz.com who reached out to the manufacturer, Awntech, when we filed a complaint, and Awntech was the company that determined the outcome.Date of transaction (order placed on): July 24th Order delivered on: august 15th Total paid: $1871.43 What they committed to provide: A waterproof awning The nature of the dispute: the item did not hold up to the rain, which is false advertising. It collapsed further with each rainfall, and eventually the metal snapped, even with the use of additional support poles that we purchased. At one point the awning collapsed while I was standing under it and the metal beam hit my head, to the point I wondered whether I had a concussion. They argued that since it did not arrive defective they could not issue a refund, but I would argue that it did arrive defective as from the start it did not hold up to the rain as advertised. What the business did to resolve the problem: they provided a replacement part to fix the snapped metal, and gave a partial refund of $150. This did not fix the fact that the item does not hold up in the rain, and even after the replacement part was installed, the awning still sagged so low it was not useable. I reached out again to receive a full refund, but they never responded. Order number: 1739-2584-8346-8792

Ordered a retractable awning on June 1st, 2022. Paid a total of $2,819.85. Item received on June 18th. Item is damaged beyond repair but awntech is refusing to replace damaged parts because it was not reported within 30 days of purchase. Or within 5 days of receiving the item. The package was inspected for damage on receipt but the entire structure wasn't removed to be installed until August 1st due to an ongoing family emergency. Awntech is refusing to honor their warranty on the damaged part of concern (bent roller tube) and is instead trying to get me to pay for the replacement parts with a 15% discount.
