              Company repeatedly preys on the underprivileged and reaps hundreds of thousands in profits by increasing tenants rent at an yearly average of over 10%. Takes in federal government benefits from the lower class citizens without notifying them of the accurate amount. Consistently reaches out to their property managers to have them enact fees and penalties at an unaffordable price to individuals residing in section 8 housing. Have filed a complaint with federal agents and local policymakers. This is both crooked and immoral.

              The cost of rent is twice what it is at other complexes in the area, and as such you would expect this company to provide a pristine and luxurious living experience. When I moved in 8 months ago, there was a long list of things that I reported wrong with my apartment, some of which still have not been fixed to date. The leasing agreement is predatory in practice. The clauses for breaking your lease provide you with a number in black and white, but you have to read in 4 different sections. The first says that the breaking lease fee is not to exceed 100% of your rent, but there is a separate clause that states you must buy out of your lease essentially doubling the number that is hand-typed into the first section. That separate clause also states that they will not accept a 60-day notice without 1/2 of that payment up front. This was not made clear during the reviewing process and took significant digging to find. After I moved in, I have had trouble with the heat going out in cold months, and air conditioning going out in warmer months leaving my apartment a whopping 91 degrees for a long time before repairs were made. Despite a crime free addendum, there have been incidents of people pulling on my doorhandle, and my apartment smells like weed 2-3 nights a week. I have allergies, and there is nothing they will do about any of these problems. Luckily, I have not lost my job or income, and I can afford to get out of this situation. However, it would be very unfortunate if this had happened to someone in a different circumstance than my own.
