    I was banned within a day of getting the app again after I had gotten out of a relationship. I had tinder previously with the same profile and never had a problem with it until now. I never violated any community guidelines or other rules.

    I am submitting this complaint against Tinder (****************) due to a wrongful account ban and a lack of transparency regarding the decision. When I downloaded Tinder at age 18, I was unexpectedly banned within 24 hours despite never having previously created an account. After investigating, I realized that when I was 16 years old, my older friend had used my phone number and email to create a Tinder account as a joke. At the time, I was not eligible to use the app and was unaware of the *************, at 20 years old, I am still unable to use Tinder, even though I have never violated any community guidelines or terms of service myself. The responses I received from Tinders customer support were identically written, automated, and dismissive of my situation. No meaningful review of my case was conducted, and I was given no opportunity to appeal the ban properly.Details of the Issue:1.Unjust Ban Due to a Mistake from Years Ago:I was unfairly banned when I first downloaded Tinder at 18 years ****** older friend used my phone number and email when I was 16 to create an account without my full understanding.I never personally used Tinder until I became of age, yet I am permanently banned due to an account I never ************** Customer Support and No Proper Review:I reached out multiple times for an appeal, only to receive automated and dismissive responses that did not take my explanation into account.There was no way to escalate the issue or speak with a human representative.I have no history of violating any terms, yet I have been permanently blocked from the platform.3.Possible Impact on ***************** Apps (Hinge, etc.):Since **************** owns both Tinder and Hinge, my wrongful ban may also have affected my eligibility on Hinge.     I am rejecting this response because: Once again I have received an automated response from the business and all Im trying to do is get in contact with a person for human review of my account. This means a person can also review my situation and make proper decisions into whether my account should be reinstated. Furthermore it is unjust that I am unable to use a tinder account I never properly created. When I tried to create an account when I turned 18 (i can prove my date of birth if need be to align with the time of ban) I was instantly banned due to someone else making an account in my name. All I ask is for a just level of consideration for my account

    Hi,Please delete my data, your my account portal wont allow me to do it myself and I have requested this multiple times.Under PIPEDA and GDPR Law you are not permitted to store my data if I have asked you to delete it.Your release of my data including photos and account information indicates that you have not deleted my data as requested. It is not required that you store this data, you are simply doing so illegally.     Had an account that was working perfectly fine, I am respectful, pictures are all good and I never once violated any of their terms and conditions (I know this as I actually read through these) - anyways they banned me from the app after I travelled back to my home country (*******) supposedly for being a bot or something as I had initially used my Nigerian number to sign up then moved to ****** and then travelled back to ******* for the holidays (which was when I got banned) - I hadnt used the app prior to this and if anything, the day before reaching *******, I was in ********* and the app was still perfectly fine, allowing me to make matches, talk to people with no issues. I am very respectful and have had many issues similar to this, once they banned my account and after a simple email they responded telling me it wasnt/shouldnt have been banned.Unfair to ban someone due to country travelling especially when the app is available in that country and I didnt violate any terms and conditions. For further reference, when looking up or asking what violation I was accused of or banned for, it simply says banned by an automated system and previously banned however, I hadnt been previously banned and was in fact instructed by staff (after a chat discussion with an employee where I told them that my account was banned in *******) to simply start a new account with a Canadian number (which then got banned because of the old Nigerian number account) - would love some support on this issue as it has been ongoing. the account goes back and forth from being banned to allowing me to swipe and talk to ppl, all the while Im not doing anything to warrant a ban or commit violations against their terms of service. Would truly just like my account reinstated without all these errors attached to them as I should never have been banned in the first place.

    My complaint literally wrote about the appeal and aligns with the dates given in the complaint. I was banned on December 27th which is the first day I used Tinder after returning to ******* - the reason says previously banned, I hadnt been previously banned before, and there is no policy reference section or any information concerning violations that were made asides from previously banned - which isnt possible as I was using the app perfectly fine when i was in ****** and ********* and it only banned me after travelling into *******.  - they also sent you an automated response which is fairly rude as it means they didnt even read the complaint.

    Nigerian Phone Number - it wasnt blocked it just never receives a code no matter where i am. I had had this account since i was 18 until like 19/20. Then when i first tried to use the app in ******, it stopped sending verification codes no matter where i am. So im not sure how i got banned on a canadian number when i was told by staff to start a new account and that if i still couldnt receive verification for the old one it might mean my account was deleted

    I am rejecting this response because: the account is banned because it says i was previously banned - i had never been banned before - i simply had a nigerian account with a nigerian number registered and i was never able to access that account again so i created a new one with my canadian number - but it shows im banned - which shouldnt be the case   - please dont respond to this without actually going through my messages and complaints - i shouldnt have to be saying this again as ir was included in my last message

    I was banned for no reason, when I ask why they just say for violating terms and conditions, when I ask which one no straight answer is given. From the looks of it this is an ON GOING issue with an ample amount of people. When I ask for my data to be taken from their database they say they don't keep data but I know that to be false. I don't like the lying and shadiness, this seems to be an issue with so many people who use the app there needs to be some reprecussions.

    Complaint Against Tinder Unjust Ban Without Explanation Tinder permanently banned my account without providing any clear reason or evidence. When I contacted their support team, they gave contradictory explanations for my ban:1.Initially, they claimed I violated their respectful communication policy (Section 6). However, I have never had an argument, disagreement, or negative interaction on the platform.2.When I questioned this, they changed their reasoning to a private information violation. However, I have never posted or requested private information.3.When I asked for specific evidence or details, Tinder stopped responding meaningfully and simply redirected me to their ************** which does not offer any real review process.Tinder has failed to:Provide any evidence that I violated their policies Clarify whether my ban was the result of user reports, an automated system, or a manual review Give me a fair appeal process This is unfair, deceptive, and an abuse of power by a major online platform. Tinders refusal to engage in proper reviews ***** consumers by arbitrarily banning users with no due process.I request that:1.Tinder conduct a real, manual review of my case 2.They provide a clear, specific explanation with evidence of why I was banned 3.They reinstate my account if no legitimate violation is found I am asking the BBB to hold Tinder accountable for their unfair and non-transparent banning practices. If Tinder is going to enforce bans, they must provide proof and a real appeal process for users.Thank you for your time.

    I have a running Tinder Platinum subscription. I have been a paying Tinder customer for years and I have never had any ********** I have suddenly been banned for hate speech / bigotry which is unjust and also extremely offensive.On 26th of February I simultaneously received two emails from Tinder.The first email: Your account has been banned for violations of our Terms of Use or Community Guidelines. You may no longer use Tinder or create new accountsThe second email: Hello - we noticed content that goes against our Community Guidelines so weve removed it at this time. If repeated, it may result in your account being banned.The email headers showed that indeed the account has been banned message has a timestamp one second earlier than the may result in a ban email.This proofs that I was banned instantly without any warning and without being given the chance to take any corrective ********* appeal was denied. Subsequent emails with support were politely answered but did not clarify which content or interaction triggered the ban despite my repeated requests for a clarification.I have never received any warning from Tinder before, and I am a long term (5 years at least) paying customer. My conduct is ever respectful to everyone on Tinder so this ban completely mystifies ***** a result of this unjust ban I am unable to use my subscription that I paid for. Furthermore labeling me as a bigot or someone engaging in hate speech is extremely offensive and emotionally harmful to me.

    I am rejecting this response because:   No clarification was given as to which actions on my part have led to the ban. 

    I am a paying customer being accused of bigotry / hate speech. This is a hurtful and gravely unjust claim which I strongly reject. I am locked out of services that I paid for without being given any satisfactory explanation, and without warning.

    Tinder is now hiding behind their privacy policies. I herewith give Tinder permission to share all the relevant details pertaining to my ban with the BBB.

    I am rejecting this response because:   
    Clearly Tinder is hiding behind privacy and security concerns in dealing with my unfair instaban.

    I am a paying customer, having paid for a pricey Platinum subscription that I am being denied usage of. I am a longstanding user of ********************** and I never received any warning from Tinder before. 

    My conduct and interactions on and off Tinder have always been respectful and considerate. Receiving a ban for hate speech and / or bigotry without clarification and without being given any chance to remediate this is deeply frustrating and emotionally injurious.

    Some research reveals that there are numerous cases similar to mine, hinting that Tinder is engaging in unfair business practices by denying users access to services that they paid for unfairly.

    I am asking the BBB to urge Tinder once more to clarify my ban and to reinstate my account in case my ban proofs to be in error. In case Tinder continues to unfairly hide behind privacy and security concerns, I ask the BBB to take action that protects the public from being exposed to Tinders unfair business practices.
