I was contacted by Dallas moving after putting an inquiry for a move from Dallas to New Jersey. They stated they specialized in long distance moves. I was contacted daily until I placed a deposit to book the move with them. Red flag number one was Dallas Moving did not know how to complete a certificate of insurance. You would think that if you specialize in long distance moves you wouldn't ask for a sample to show you how to complete. Upon pickup on 4/20/2022 everything seemed somewhat normal. I was told that I would receive notice once my belongings were in route to the destination. Well I did not receive that call and reached out and asked for an update after 7 days. I was met with "let me check with operations". I had to follow up for another week until I received a call letting me know the delivery would be made the next day between "3-5". I informed the gentleman I wouldn't be available until 6 and he insisted that there was no flexibility. I took off work the following afternoon (5/5/2022) to make sure I'm at home for the arrival of my belongings. Dallas moving was a no show no call by 5pm. I call and they state they would arrive at 7. Upon arrival only one of the men unload and move my items to my unit. The other sat on his phone the entire time refusing to help which made the process longer than what it had to be. After a thorough review of my items I contact Dallas moving to let them know several of my items were missing and one of my items was damaged. There was a back and forth for over a week then I was advised to place a claim (the results of the claim amounted to $42 when $1200+ worth of my belongings were either lost/stolen/damaged). Some of the items were brand new and cannot be repurchased for retail prices.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/08) */ Mr. ****** received a full door to door moving service as was contracted. An insurance certificate was provided and sent to his building and to him as requested, this is not a document we provide but our insurance company since it requires underwriters to create. (A sample is requested and generally provided in the welcome packet by the building in order to verify the requirements of the building and the names of corporations and owners of the property.) Dallas Moving stands behind our delivery window and this customer received his items within the allotted delivery window per his contract. The roads can be unpredictable at times and a slight variation from the delivery time can happen. Unfortunately when items are moving across the country damages/loss can occur, we do everything we can to minimize these occurrences. Mr. ****** did choose the limited liability option which was free of charge to him and required $0 deductible. Mr. ****** said he was missing a box and although the liability insurance provided him a settlement of $42.00 according to his liability value, we listened to him and understood these items were of high value and offered him a new settlement of $400.00 which he agreed to and accepted and then submitted this complaint. We feel that we have gone above and beyond to satisfy this customer, far beyond what was required per our contract. We have done so in good faith assuming these items in fact did not arrive at his destination out of the desire to provide good customer service.
