On February 23rd, 2024 I visited the Botox bar aesthetic on core ave ****** for sculptura and Botox as I was going on a trip to ******. I had requested to see *** the provider I was typically seeing at the clinic and was informed she was no longer there and I ended up seeing *************************** the RN instead. I asked ******** for sculptura and Botox she told me that she recommends ******** instead and maintained telling me how better Radiesse was than sculptura. I received 1 unit of Dysport for $800, 1.5 syringe of Radiesse for $950 for a total of 1750. Received a bit of discount and ended up paying 1580 for the procedure and added a $ 100 tip walking way paying 1680 for the treatment that day. However, only to go back again on March 4th as I requested ******** to correct my droopy eye lid that was dropping over my eye, fix the uneven injection on my chin and to correct her work on my left cheek that was much bigger than the right one. ******** had an attitude telling me that she can not perform miracle on me due to my age and must have told me many times about my age ( I have been getting treatments for the past 6 years and no injector has ever tried to put me down or humiliate me about my age). I left the clinic for the second time and got charged $ 595 as I left a $50 tip again. After both procedures I was left mismatched on sides of my face (my left cheek looked like a chipmunk ), my droopy eye became so bad that I was embarrassed to walk around on my trip in ******, I was feeling emotionally and physically not like my self. My face was so puffy and tight I was extremely uncomfortable and preoccupied with my face the whole time on my vacation. I emailed ******** on 03/15 with my photos of my eye dropping and my face and never heard back untiI I emailed again till finally she responded Days after. She kept saying it was my age and she had talked to her medical directors and even suggested to me to have a face lift!! I have to say I am 60 years old. She totally externalized my complaints and said she felt sorry that I feel that way. I have photos of me right before her treatments on 02/23 ( looking totally normal and matching on my face and my eyes as posted here) and then after she gave me treatments. She made me look puffy, mismatched and droopy. She refused to give me my full refund. I have since seen another professional and she had to inject me a dissolver for my cheeks ( terribly painful) to deflate her incompetent work as she injected me under my skin with a long needle (rather than a small needle over my cheek bone) and she gave me more Botox to fix my drippy eyelid. I am starting to get back to normal. I still have more work to do (dissolver on my neck and the right cheek and possibly more Botox) to get back to my base line and ******** refused to give me a refund and accept that she really messed my face up. I stoped the 2nd fee by calling my credit card company as I have paid the clinic cash for the first treatment. I want everyone to know about this clinic and how they treat their patients. I have never ever in my life complained about anyone but, in good conscious could not sit out and not say anything about my experience.

    Business Response

    Date: 04/01/2024

    Dear BBB Representative

I am writing in response to the complaint filed by a patient against The Botox Bar & Aesthetics. We appreciate the opportunity to address the concerns raised by the patient and provide you with our perspective on the matter.

First and foremost, we value the feedback and experiences shared by our patients, as it helps us continuously improve our services and meet their expectations. However, in this particular case, we believe the complaint to be unreasonable and would like to present our side of the story. We have additional created additional policies now that patients sign in addition to medical clearance and consents stating that they agree to the treatment plan discussed at appt.

Upon reviewing the details provided by the patient, we have found several inaccuracies and misinterpretations regarding the events that transpired. We would like to emphasize that our primary goal is to provide high-quality care and ensure the well-being of our patients at all times. Our staff members are trained professionals who adhere to the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and patient-centered care.

We would like to address the specific concerns raised by the patient as follows:

1.The patient when booking the appointment knew the former provider, she saw had left months when making the appointment. The patient also had the current provider previously consult with the past provider on past treatments and also had touch up done by the current provider who recently did her treatment. Our practice tried to provide interventions immediately while patient was out of town and even offered to call in a medication to help with brow ptosis. We tried to accommodate her request but always want client to return. Every consent does say our policies which we email pre and post care instructions and review with patients. Also, we went against our policy and refunded the patient her money via credit card before the patient could call the credit card company. We included the email correspondence as well.

    2. We review all treatment plans with all patients and never saw one product is superior to another. We chose the product which was reviewed because the area injected mainly was the neck area which the first visit a majority of the service was lower face issues and had no complaints at follow up visit about. We used a cannula method for safety and less downtime because the patient was going out of town very soon. We also refunded the follow up visit service which we only did minimal amount of touch up in the upper portion of the face. We try to educate our patients first and provide all long-term options for everyone. The provider that saw the patient does not have an aggressive personality or arrogance as well as and contacted all appropriate means and ways to help the patient. The practice never externalizes any patient concerns and goes above and beyond the clients concerns and welcomed her to come in multiple times to assessment which the patient had treatment in less than a 30-day period and a lot would have softened and changed on its own as well.

We take patient satisfaction seriously and have thoroughly investigated the matter internally. Our findings indicate that our staff followed proper protocols and provided the necessary care and attention to the patient during their visit. We have also reviewed any relevant documentation and records to ensure an accurate assessment of the situation. We have emailed patient her chart and documentations of procedures.

Furthermore,we have attempted to contact the patient directly to discuss their concerns and find a resolution. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we have been unable to establish direct communication with them. We remain committed to addressing their concerns and invite them to reach out to us at ********** to further discuss the matter.

At The Botox Bar we are dedicated to providing exceptional care and service to all our patients. We take all feedback seriously and use it as an opportunity to learn and improve. We strive to resolve any issues promptly and amicably, ensuring the satisfaction of our patients.

We kindly request that this response be included as part of the complaint record and that it be taken into consideration when evaluating the validity of the complaint. We trust that the BBB will conduct a fair and impartial investigation into this matter.

Thank you for your attention to this issue. Should you require any additional information or clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Sincerely,

    The Botox Bar Management

Thank you for allowing me to respond to the Botox bar & Aesthetic. Many things said in response to my complaints were inaccurate and as expected down played, minimized and externalized either by the clinic or the Injector provider herself or both.

I like to clarify the clinics claim as to Responses they provided.

     # 1. Answer from clinic.
Absolutely, in accurate. I had no idea *** had gone for months before. I dont call continuously to see if my provider is there or not! I tried to book an appt for march 23rd (in the anticipation of my trip to Europe) and was told *** was no longer there. As the matter of a fact on march 23rd when I saw BB I asked her in person why *** no longer was there and she told me that *** had requested a raise and that the clinic could not afford to give her the raise. I was not told where she had gone or when she left?

*************************** had one time, I believe it was in November 2023 done a small tiny amount of Botox (so small I was not even charged) to even out my right eyebrow while *** could not see me!! ** had never ever done a full Botox or Radiesse treatment on me ever before. I had no idea about her skills as an injector.  The consent I signed was a part of agreement and my trust that the injector knew what she was trained to do. Now no matter where you go you have to sign consents for everything you do. No education was involved with that.

************* on 03/22/24 in her email response talked about refunding a portion of my fees back to me for terrible Botox job she did that caused my eye lid to shut down over my eye while I was in ****** on vacation. However, I waited till Monday evening (march 25th) and saw no report of refund on my credit card so then I called my CC company they had no notes on a refund coming in either. That is when I tried to dispute the payment.
    ?#2 response. In accurate
The provider (B.B) has not taken any responsibility for all the physical, emotional and financial pain she has caused me. I do have a statement on the email exchanged by BB talking about a product and me going back to the clinic for the third time to get that product and have her assess me further? I went back the second time for droopy eye and left with almost a shut eye and nearly was not able to see from one eye due to the injector messing up my eye worst the 2nd time and injecting me with more Radiesse on my left cheek making me look like a chipmunk. There was no way I was going back there again for the third time! I was not letting her experiment on me again.

Lastly, I want to say that no one has called or attempted to call me from this clinic. False statement again. My phone record can prove that. All our communication is on email.

I have had to spend extra time to find another provider, spend more of my time on my days off to go to have this professional use corrective procedures in an attempt to provide me some relieve from the tightness and puffiness I was experiencing from the Radiesse. I had a hard time talking, laughing or even talking due to the heaviness I had under facial skin. I was even embarrassed to attend activities.

The new provider has given me  more Botox units to lift my eyebrows (against B.****** Recommendation to me in her email to not do more Botox and possibly do a plastic surgery for brow lift and combination of eyes as well) and she has had to dissolve the poor Radiesse job B.B has done on me to try to even out both sides of my face to match and de puff the heaviness from my face. ??Attached are the additional fees I have paid to dissolve the poorly administered fillers (dissolvers are very painful). I am still seeing the new provider (seeing her Friday the 12th for more dissolvers as she is trying to dissolve as much Radiesse as she can on my cheeks and neck and straighten the forehead and brows.
***I had chunks of hard calcium deposits under my skin on my cheeks, neck and chin that had to be dissolved and evened out bc BB injected the filler superficially under my skin with the wrong needle and not close to my cheek bone as it is designed to be placed at***??Currently, I am waiting on a letter from the new provider that has been working on me to state what she saw when I asked her for help and what approach she has taken to help me look somewhat normal. ??UnFortunately, I have heard that I am not the only one that has gone through this with B.Blairs work. There are more people like me out there.
This all is made to be about my feelings and I have to say Any one with eyes and common sense can see my face is damaged and me speaking up about what was done is not about my feelings.

The clinic is tossing their unsatisfactory work on their clients (externalizing) and they should take responsibility for fixing the problems they create for their clients. This whole experience has been a nightmare for me. I need to be reimbursed for all my physical, emotional, time and financial loses (as I am still going through it).  I know I can not speak for others but, I am speaking for me and what the clinic needs to do is to do the right thing.

I have attached a photo of me in October 2023 and a new photo of what has been done to me by *********************** treatment 10 days ago. And 2 bills from the new clinic and I have much more work ahead.

Attached is a letter from my new provider and her recommendations. She is still trying to melt/dissolve the Radiesse as she is preparing me for another treatment to help me with the inflammation, unevenness and tightness from the treatment I received from the Botox bar & ********** Post that treatment the new provider will restart Sculptura to get me back to my normal baseline.

This has been so much already and I have a long way ahead to return to my base line. Again, I am expecting accountability for all emotional, Physical and financial impact this treatment has caused me so far and more so till I am back to normal facial state
