Have been using Thryv to direct traffic to my own website. After a year with only 2 click thrus I determined that the Thryv service was ineffective and called to cancel the service. That was 2 weeks ago approximately 7/12/2025. Today I get an email that states Thryv has received my request to cancel service as of 7/26/2025. It also says I will continue to be billed till the end of my service term, which I was not aware even existed. Since I had this account over a year and was never asked to renew my subscription (I wasn't aware it was a subscription either) I feel taken advantage of in promises of traffic to my website and now being held to a subscription that doesn't provide any meaningful results. I want them to cancel immediately and stop billing me as of 7/12/2025. Can you help?Business Response

Thank you for allowing us to reach out to assist with their concern about being billed until end of July. State they cancelled a couple weeks ago. We spoke with client and *** we show the cancel request in June but there is a 30 day cancel policy. That is why they are billing until end of July. I am filing this complaint because my personal identity is being used without consent in a fraudulent business listing for ************** Designers" in **********, **. This listing falsely displays my full name, personal photograph, and my private phone number.These listings are live on Yahoo Local, Yellow Pages, and other directories connected to Thryvs business partnerships. Thryv is listed as a provider involved in content management and advertising for these platforms.I contacted *** ******, ************** Team Leader at Thryv, on multiple occasions to demand the removal of my personal information from these fraudulent listings. I provided:Direct links to the listings:**************************************************************************************** ******************************************************************************************************************************************************************** Screenshots documenting the unauthorized use of my name, image, and phone number.Despite this, *** ****** repeatedly dismissed my requests, claiming that Thryv does not have control over the listing. This is not acceptable because Thryv is listed as a service partner managing these listings and they appear as a contact point on the platform. Their failure to assist has left me exposed to fraud, potential harassment, and real safety risks.I have no relationship with ************* Designers, Thryv, or ***** in any business capacity. Thank you for the opportunity to respond. It is Thryvs position that we have actively engaged and attempted to assist ***** in her quest to remove her information but freely admit that we have struggled to 1) locate connections between Thryv and the information she has located online and 2) obtain specific listings that prove Thryv is responsible for sharing her information online. Yes, Thryv has many partners which list business contact information for advertising purposes but so do many other entities. Association doesnt endear Thryv to being the sole party responsible for making updates to any and all content listed on a 3rd party website. Below we have listed the various links provided as well as our findings and welcome additional and actionable information in order to better assist.

The above links go to Yahoo search results pages with one search indicating there are about ********* search results. A scan of the first page yields website links for ************************************, ***********************, **************, and many more that do not reference Heidis name or phone number. We also do not see any links to Thryvs owned and operated websites.

The attached file Screenshot 2025-07-16 ****** shows a Yahoo business profile with what we understand is an image of ***** and her contact information. Thryv has confirmed that we did not create this page nor supply this information to *****.
In order to better assist *****, we have asked for additional information that clearly shows Thryv as the provider but have yet to receive it. We have searched our records and they do not include any advertising program associated with ***** or her contact information. We acknowledge that emails sent to Thryv also included individuals from **************, Yahoo, and Charter so it is possible that one of those contacts are able to further assist.

I am formally demanding the immediate removal of my personal informationincluding but not limited to my photograph and telephone number. This information has been posted without my authorization, and its presence is fraudulent, unauthorized, and causing both financial and personal harm. The continued publication of my image and phone number exposes me to privacy violations, harassment, and reputational damage, which I will not tolerate.
Please consider this a cease and desist demand under applicable privacy and consumer protection laws, including but not limited to:
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (insofar as it relates to takedown responsibilities upon notice)
Common law rights of privacy, including false light and misappropriation of likeness
I expect the immediate removal of all unauthorized content containing my image, phone number, or any personally identifiable information from your websites and affiliated platforms within 48 hours of receipt of this notice.

Thank you for the opportunity to research the clients concern that the account was not cancelled. We do not show a cancel request was placed. We do show the website domain was released to them in March. However, that does not cancel the account.
They also mentioned they were no contacted about the concern. The reason for no contact was the client has sent several letters of Cease & Desist. Can the client confirm if it would be ok to contact them to try and resolve the matter at this time?

I am rejecting this response because: As everyone can see from the emails - we have reached out several times. We clearly stated in our 6/16/25 email that we had discontinued the service back in March - How can Thryv as of today deny that this is so. Also as per our email of 4/25/25, we were unable to log into our account (because it was closed?) to compare the final billing amount. Thryv is nonresponsive & we dispute any amount owing. We have had no access to any services since 4/25 as per our email. As of our email on 5/8/25 we concluded that due to their non response they agreed with our prior requests.Business Response

We then continued to get billed, and they automatically renewed it for 18 months when the subscription should have cancelled in May. They will not cancel the subscription until November 2026. We found that our client contacted us on 8/22/24 to get information on the cancellation process and dates. The cancel date of 4/30/25, but our client advised he forgot about the date. It wasnt until 6/25/25 that our client requested to cancel, which was too late for the 6/1/2025 renewal. We have received bills from this company for a service we did not sign up for. I have called the company three times requesting information that proves we signed up for the service (such as a contract or documentation showing what service we supposedly received. All three times I was informed documentation would be sent. Instead, they sent us to a collections agency. I have called them as well. They stated they see my request in their notes and will resubmit my request yet AGAIN. It should be simple for this company to provide proof of the services they are charging us for. I feel they are a scam and are only trying to get money from the company.Business Response

We have been attempting to close acct for months, with no success and now we have a balance. We have made multiple
attempts to reach our client and have been unsuccessful by both email and
phone. Our records indicate that the client did make a formal request to cancel
the digital advertising on February 5, 2025. Our clients digital advertising was
on a month to month basis and could have been cancelled based on that
information. This was not done at the time and has now been cancelled and
adjusted back to that time frame and no charges are due on the digital
advertising.
Our records also indicate
that a cancellation request of print was made at this time. That being said,
the print had renewed in June 2024 via auto renewal process. Contact attempts
were made to reach our client regarding this renewal and ending on April 30,
2024 with an email to our client regarding the renewal and terms for automatic
renewal. Our clients 2022 print advertising was also renewed in the same way
via auto renewal. Our client had previously never discussed or disputed this in
previous renewals.
Based on the information and
to resolve this matter for the client, we have agreed to remove the charges for
print as well with no further charges due by our client and cancellation for
print renewals in the future. Thank you for bringing this matter to our

I hired Thryv to rebuild my business website under the clear agreement that the new site would be customized to my satisfaction and outperform the website I had already built myself. I have experience in website design and was already using a functioning, effective site built on ***********. Thryv assured me they could deliver better results, which they failed to do.From the beginning, I expressed dissatisfaction with the design and performance. I was continually brushed off and met with vague explanations, no real accountability, and no meaningful effort to resolve my concerns. Despite their promises, they underdelivered and overchargedjust like they did to another business owner I know personally who had a nearly identical experience with Thryv.On top of that, Im now being charged $358/month, without a clear explanation of what that charge includes. Hosting with ***********, which I had used previously, only costs me $33/month. Their billing is not transparent, and theyve failed to justify the costs. I was never given a fair breakdown, just a *************, because Im disputing these charges and refusing to pay for something that was never delivered as promised, they are threatening to shut down my site entirely. That is completely unethical. If a customer of mine paid for a service I failed to deliver, I would issue a refundnot hold their business ********** requesting a full refund for the service and to be released from any further billing or obligations. On 4/24/25, I placed an order to this company for **************** Capsules for hair growth. The amount I was charged was $34,99, Since then, I have been receiving emails that "the merchandise will be delivered". However, there is no set date for delivery. I have contacted them via email at ******************** I believe they are a FRAUD, as they have NEVER answered any of my emails and I never heard from them again. I am now out of $34.99.
