    On September 27, 2022, BBB serving North Central Texas identified a pattern of complaints regarding the behavior of this company, Ticketsales.com. Specifically, BBB has received complaints alleging that Ticketsales.com:

     

    **does not always make it aware to consumers they are purchasing from Ticketsales.com;
    **misleads total amount of charges/fees, ticket acquisition, and refund policy until after purchase;
    **ignored requests for assistance with never receiving tickets purchased;
    **ignored requests or no useful assistance from customer service.

     

    On September 27, 2022, BBB attempted to contact Ticketsales.com regarding these consumer complaints. In addition, BBB requested documentation of Ticketsales.com registration and location of operations in the state of Texas as advertised on the Ticketsales.com website.

    On November 11, 2022, Ticketsales.com responded to BBB correspondence regarding this pattern of complaints.

    As of April 25, 2023, BBB is monitoring Ticketsales.com complaints to ascertain if Ticketsaes.com efforts eliminate the pattern of complaints.

      I purchased tickets for my family to a June 26th show at *******, venue in ****************, **. I attempted to buy five tickets. There was no notification that I wasn't purchasing from the event venue, as their site replicated the ******* site. Ticketsales.com listed the price as $623, which was presented as the total cost. Upon purchase, I was charged $623 dollars each for 5 tickets along with $1,012.40 as a service fee and a delivery fee for $6.95 for a total of $4,134.35. There was no page showing me the total prior to purchase and the entire processes was misleading. After seeing I was charged such an exorbitant amount, I immediately contacted my credit card company to block the charge, and I also contacted ticketsales.com to explain the problem. **************** was completely unhelpful and non-responsive. I sent a message to which which I received no response. The company was contacted via their website chat, and the person or chatbot in the chat said there is nothing they could do and that the policies and costs are clearly stated before purchase, which is untrue. I also talked to the company on the phone with no resolution. The company said there is nothing that can be done, and suggested selling the tickets on the secondary market. However, no tickets were actually received, and in a email after the fact, they said that the tickets have not been purchased yet by ticket sales.com. It is unclear how tickets not received could be sold, and how this transaction cannot be changed on their end even though they have not themselves obtained tickets. Tickets on the actual website are a maximum of around $100 each with plenty of tickets remaining, This is clearly unethical business practice and theft.

      On April 16, 2024, I made a purchase for tickets for a high school jazz band event and did not realize that I was on a third party website (TicketSales.com). Tickets to this event are priced at $20.00 per ticket by the actual venue and yet TicketSales.com charged $38.00 per ticket plus an unexpectedly high service fee and an additional high charge for emailing the tickets (the only option offered), resulting in a total cost of $107.65 for two tickets. In addition, the site warned that availability was low, which was not true, and thus communicated a need to rush to purchase the tickets, regardless of the cost. When I realized this was not the actual venue, I tried to cancel my purchase but was told that was not possible and it was suggested that I could resell the tickets. All requests for refund were denied.

      On 3/12/2024 I purchased tickets to a *********************** concert at the ******************* in ******** from Ticketsales.com. Prior to pushing the purchase button, the website did not clearly list all the ticket prices, taxes, fees, and other costs. Immediately after receiving the e-mail confirmation copy at 4;58 pm, I was stunned by the total charge to my credit card. I immediately contacted Ticketsales.com **************** by phone at 5:07 pm. and asked for an immediate cancelation of the purchase. She placed me on hold and said she would talk with her supervisor. When she came back to me, I was told that the supervisor told her she was not allowed to cancel the order and issue a refund. When I asked to speak to the supervisor or any other manager, I was told that was not possible.The next day 3/13/2024 I again contacted Ticketsales.com in attempt to resolve this issue. I was told that he saw on his computer screen that I had contacted customer service the previous day. When I again requested a order cancelation and refund his response was "ALL SALES ARE FINAL!" When I indicated I may dispute the charge on my credit card (Which I have done) , His response was I could try but this process could take up to 90 days. His response indicates this is a common problem with Ticketsales.com.To further support these absurd and possibly fraudulent practices by Ticketsales.com and believing my dispute would be resolved in my favor, I purchased on 3/15/2024 4 tickets to the same *********************** concert. The seats I purchased are significantly better on row 13 compared to row 47. The total cost for these 4 tickets was $1272.76 compared to $3107.98 from Ticketsales.com. How can any reputable or ethical company ever charge $1835.22 for lesser value and lesser quality seats.On the BBB site it appears this is a common complaint and explains why the BBB has rated Ticketsales.com an "F".The only resolution to this is a total refund of $3107.98 due to the misleading business practice..

      On April 15th I searched for tickets to the band ***************** is Dead, playing locally at ************************** in ********, ** on August 2nd. The link for TicketSales.com came up first and I clicked on it, believing I was on TicketMaster.com. I went through the process of purchasing 2 tickets and during this process no price was disclosed to me at all. I had seen the venue advertise these tickets for $55 each, and that was what I thought I was purchasing. Only upon completing the order did I received a receipt with the final price of $479.20. I would never have agreed to pay this price (esp for a cover band!) and I immediately went to cancel the transaction. In doing so (not even 2 minutes after the order completed) I saw that the money had been debited from my account. I then found out tickets were not even on sale for this event until 4/19. I called TicketSales.com and they would not cancel or refund my order. I do have my bank looking into this, but it is completely misleading and I feel I have been scammed here. From the many complaints I'm now reading about Ticketsales.com, I'm not the only one. This seems to be the way this business operates, tricking people into wrongly overspending and downright scamming individuals out of money. It is outrageous. My order number is: ********.

      I am writing about an experience I recently had while purchasing tickets for the *********************** concert scheduled for October 3, 2024. --On April 17, I visited TicketSales.com to secure tickets for this event. Upon selecting the desired tickets and proceeding to checkout, I was taken aback by the additional charges resulting in a total of $711.54. The base price of the tickets appeared reasonable, but the unexpected surge in fees caught me off guard and significantly inflated the total cost. --Furthermore, the website's design and marketing strategies created a sense of urgency, implying that tickets were selling rapidly. This tactic, coupled with the lack of transparency regarding additional fees, led me to believe that I needed to act quickly to secure my tickets. --In hindsight, it has become clear that the pricing structure employed by this ticketing platform is misleading and deceptive. As a consumer, I expect transparency and honesty in all my transactions, especially when making significant purchases such as concert tickets. --Therefore, I am formally requesting a full refund of the charges incurred for the *********************** concert tickets. Additionally, I urge the ticketing company to review its pricing policies and ensure that all future transactions are conducted with integrity and transparency. I initially attempted a refund with their customer support representative that representative was very rude and uncooperative. --Thank you for your platform and the assistance it has offered others.

      I made a purchase for event tickets for a high school band event and did not realize that I was on a third party website (Ticketsales.com). In addition the site stated that "Availability was Low" for the event which was not true and dishonestly communicated a need to rush to purchase. I immediately contacted customer service and was told to resell the tickets via the ticketsales.com site to make even more money than I paid. All requests for a refund were denied.

      I wanted to purchase some tickets to a jazz concert for my wife's birthday for May 25, 2024 at the Middle * ********* in *********, N.*. so I went online to purchase the tickets not realizing that I was not on their website which i did type in correctly and it brought up ************************* ********* N.*. Middle * Jazz, so I selected the date I was looking for and found and found tickets for my wife's birthday and selected that date the tickets were to go see Bassist ************************* on May 25, 2024 at 8:45 pm the page said the tickets were $***** each I selected 4 tickets it didn't say anything about and I made sure I looked before I selected place order because that was the next page that pop up, so when I didn't see anything about any other charges I said to myself there probably isn't any because I am on the jazz clubs website, so i click on place order that's when the confirmation page pops saying my credit card has been charge $ ****** I am thinking what's this for because 4x $ ***** is $ ****** that's when I went back to check the website and saw that it was not the jazz club's website because the Middle * *********'s ticket prices for this concert were $ *****- $45.00 per ticket and even if I did agree to pay $79..00 per ticket it still doesn't come up $442.00 i tried calling them can't get anybody on the phone

      I was lead to believe I was buying actual tickets but after completing the transaction realized that was impossible because they weren't able to be delivered immediately. Upon further investigation I realized I had been charged double the face value and an exorbitant service fee. There is no ability to reverse the order even though I don't have goods in hand. This is unethical marketing and business practices set out to totally scam the consumer.

      I went to purchase tickets for an event and this company's website disguised themselves as the venue site and charged exorbitant fees. It was not until the confirmation email that it was revealed to not be the venue site. I chatted with customer service and they refused to issue a refund or cancelation. This was all within 10 minutes of placing the order.
