I joined The Dallas Dating Company in June 2023, a couple of years after my husband of over 40 years passed away from cancer. I was still devastated and grieving, but ready to open myself up for companionship and possible new relationships. I received a "hard sell" and caved in to the image of future fulfillment. I signed up for a VIP membership which cost me $7,290 (including tax) for the six year VIP program. At first, everything seemed great. We had group social events to meet others in a safe "no pressure" environment, every couple of months. We also had the option of making one-on-one connections (dates), if we were inclined. We had a holiday "soiree" on December 16, 2023. This was the last time I heard anything from the Company. I recently reached out via telephone and received a recorded 'out of service' message. Email and text messages were undeliverable. It appears that the Company has closed it's doors without notice and did not offer to refund the balance of the $6,999 I paid but did not get to use. I have tried multiple times to reach someone - anyone - for answers. But, reached only dead air. Looks like they took $7,000 from me!Initial Complaint

In Sept 2022, I went to the Dallas Dating Company, not really knowing what to expect but soon the representative told that she met her husband via the *** and that the fee was approximately $9900. I got ready to leave she said she would talk with her supevisor, and she lowered the price evenutally to $6500, which was is pretty steep. *** (I think was her name) assured me that there would be plenty of men for me to chose from in the club. When I went thru the information guide, it said to chose 15 men/women that you are interested in to start with. I tried my best to find ****************************************** simply don't respond. The first man was very nice, he said no one is going to call you, he said you seem like nice lady but that, I probably wouldn't be successful. He said he been the *** and that they offered very little. I was determined to move forward after spending so much money. I did go out with one guy, but I can get one date on my own. I feel The Dallas Company is deceiving older lonely people by calling this a dating company, when it's just older singles going to events. I attempted to go at least 3 events and was told we already enough women or they are already full at this time, although I met the **** deadline. This week I was told that I can't even come to the Christmas party unless some other women drop out. The company does have enough men, so I paid a very high price and still cannot attend events. I know there will not be anybody at the party that I want to date, but I should at least be able to eat a nice dinner and play games. If you're interested in men of color, good luck, I've seen one black man at an event, he was beating himself up over the money paid ***.T he Dallas Dating company has the ability to to vet their clients, but other than that have provided very little dating opportunities for me. Most people don't say anything because we don't want people to know when joined a dating company that scammed us.Business response

We're sorry to learn that ********* hasn't experienced greater success with her membership. Now that this has come to our attention, we'll review her account and ********************** activity. Our team will proactively reach out to provide assistance. When members share feedback, we're committed to offering tailored suggestions for matches and aiding in making meaningful connections. Within her age range, there are several eligible men who haven't been selected by her, and we'll be in touch with ********* to discuss these potential matches. We organize various events for our members, and all have the opportunity to attend by replying before the deadline or by ****ing in a timely manner if space is limited before an event reaches full capacity. Regarding the recent holiday party, we promoted it for over a month, and unfortunately, ********* contacted us after the **** deadline. As we needed to submit a finalized list of attendees along with their menu preferences in advance, we weren't able to accommodate her on this occasion. We encourage all members who wish to attend events to **** early to secure their inclusion. We'll be in touch with the client regarding her dating activity.Customer response

The Dallas Dating Company said I missed the deadline to RVSP, but that is a lie. I talked to the represenatative for over a minute and they never said I missed the deadline. ?? Grand Marnier Crme Brule (Why lie about something I can prove?)
To join the festivities, please call ************ to RSVP with The Dallas Dating Company no later than December 13th. Reservations will be confirmed with a credit card. Let's make this holiday season unforgettable together!2) Why does every women I spoke have almost the exact same story?
3) ***** sent me 3 potential candidates, but one I couldn't find at all, the 2nd Id# didn't work but I located by name. If there are plenty of men date, why are half of them inactive. Most of these me are white and not interested in inter-racial dating, so Its just events for women, it not a dating company.

We have followed up with *********, as she indicated. Personally, I recommended potential matches and initiated contact with the gentlemen to facilitate introductions. We're currently awaiting their responses. Additionally, we have two upcoming events, and ********* has confirmed her attendance for both. I personally reached out to her, encouraging timely RSVPs to ensure her inclusion and promote the events. We aim for the success of all our members, recognizing that each individual's journey is unique. Our commitment to assisting and supporting ********* remains.Business response

It looks like ********* called the office on 12/13/23 at 5:30 pm to RSVP for the holiday event, but unfortunately, the deadline was by 5:00 pm on the same day. Despite the over a month-long promotion and adequate time given for members to sign up, ********* missed the deadline. It's unfortunate we could not accommodate her, but she waited until after the deadline that we were working with in order to get the guest list and menu options submitted to the venue.Customer response

First and foremost it is apparent the Dallas Dating refuses to be honest.
1- If there was a hard 5pm deadline it would have stated it, when I called on the 12/13 they did not or they would have been in the communication they sent out but it was not. She said, they were full, but that if women dropped out I could come.
2-Ironically when I called on 1/11/2024 about an upcoming evebnt, ten days out, they representative told me she thought they full with women, but then somehow found another space after putting me on for a minute. I was unable to go to the event because of a family event in ****************.
3- They say the have plenty of men in my age range, but they don't. ***** sent me 2 guy's profile. just to say they did something, because one is years younger than me and most men want women younger them ( I'm not a dating professional but even I know that, so they would have to know it.) Dallas Dating suggest you select 15 potientials to start with, but there is hardly any one to chose. If they have plenty of men she should easily been able to suggest at least 5 to 10 men.
4- I attended an event on 1/27, Dallas Dating had 5 or 6 men at the event and one guest of a club member and 9 women. It was an event outing, not conducive for really getting know anyone, and of course no African American men.
5- The one male guest approached and said he was thinking of joinging, but really doesn't have the $2000 right now. I guess I get it now, the men aren't sticking around long when they don't see any benefits, and because they have invested that much. He said it seems like most of you'll been here a while.
6- The name is the Dallas Dating, not Dallas Date, I havent had a conversation with one person who has had more than one date or was happy with the services provided.
7- For over $6,000 there should be plenty of men date, that was the promise by ***. I should be able to go all the events if meet the communicated deadline.
Dallas Dating probably could fix the issues but they choose not to.

It's been almost 3 years since I've paid for services from the Dallas Dating Company that were never delivered. They have not once sent me an email or reached out to me setting me up on a date. I contacted my "match maker" and never heard back from that person. No one from that company has ever reached out to me. They stole almost $8,000 and have delivered no services.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/07) */ We understand Ms. *********'s frustration. We agree that there was a delay in her initial photography appt. We reached out to Ms. ********* to follow up the same day of her appt and those calls were sent to voicemail. We left her a few messages. Our Office Manager then reached out to Ms. ********* to follow up and was able to speak with her offering some resolution. We followed up again on 10/29/2020. Our Regional Manager also reached out on 11/5/2020 but was only able to leave a voicemail introducing herself and offering assistance. On the calls where we did connect, we attempted to offer assistance and reschedule Ms. *********'s photo appt. We are not able to make any introductions to eligible clients until we have current photos and a profile from Ms. *********. At this time, she has access to her membership until 10/08/2023. In good faith, if she is now ready to move forward then we will add additional time and continue to offer assistance. We will reach out to discuss this with Ms. ********* and seek resolution.Initial Complaint

FRAUD, DECPTIION, CRIMINAL INTENT The Dallas Dating Company has used various methods , over the last 35 years, under numerous assumed names ,that were pre-meditated and used over and over by their trained staff to turn a "blind-eye" to perpetuate these criminal acts, primarily against the Older American market. Facts: I drove to a scheduled meeting, set up by Bailey, to meet with one of their advisors on April 27, 2022 at 1:00. I went to their address at XXXXX ****** ******* suite **** Dallas, Texas XXXXX. I met with Kay, a 10 year employee of the company, who proceeded to tell me all of the services that they would provide. She initially told me that the membership fee was $10,000.00. I explained that I only lived in Dallas for part of the year. From July 1-Nov. 1, I lived in Dana Point , Calif. The Dating Company has many other locations across the US, but none in California. so that price did not make sense. She said she was going to talk to her supervisor and came back with a new membership price of $4,497.50. This was a VIP membership that allowed for three years to be on their site, unless you contacted them to go"on a FREEZE period, or later referred to as Inactive, or Invisible. You must put this in writing and contact them upon your return so they can put your profile back on Active status. I signed my name to this contract under the heading WE BOTH AGREE,for the agreed upon PROGRAM FEE of $4,497.50. Nothing else appeared next to the PROGRAM FEE that I signed until later. I was not given a copy of this signed agreement until I was leaving their office at approximately 14:05 when the charge of $4,792.50 was transacted under the name of the Great Southern Video Inc. at the same address as the Dallas Dating Company. In the meantime, Kay gave me another document to sign, while I was in her office, which in effect said that I would never divulge the discounted membership fee to anyone interested in joining,, or suffer consequences. After signing thisBusiness response

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2022/06/27) */ As Ms. ****** mentioned she received a fair and reasonable discount, for the reasons she mentioned. There has not been any fraud, deception, or criminal intent. We have been in business for 40+ years and we strive for all our clients to have success; however, this is only possible if the client is willing to put in the effort as well. We offer a platform for singles to meet that have been vetted and passed a background check. That is the case here as we have already offered Ms. ****** 10 introductions to quality gentleman in less than 2 months. She has not been open to getting to know the latest suggestions and asked that her profile be removed. We are transparent in our cancellation/refund policy and will include a copy for the BBB to review. We would like to help Ms. ****** in finding a match and ultimately a lasting relationship and welcome that opportunity. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/06/28) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Let's get the Facts straight. This dispute is about the Dallas Dating Company, altering my signed contract AFTER I signed the agreement. They added to my credit card ,without my knowledge or consent an additional amount of $295.00. The contract that I signed had an amount listed for the Program Fee in the amount $4,497.50. Later, after signing, I left Kay's office, and was told to wait in the reception area for Kay to finish her paperwork. In the meanwhile, Kay super-imposed the letters "p/v." on an already signed contract. I would never sign a legal document without a monetary amount disclosed. Why would I pay an additional amount for photos that were not even taken on the date of April 27, 2022 The photo session was scheduled for April 30th at 9:00 Am. I never saw the photos or proofs until two weeks later. After reading their Welcome Guide, regarding photos or videos, page 21, there was nothing stated about any additional costs for photos or videos. You were only charged for photos if you wanted to purchase them. I never offered to purchase any photos. On my monthly credit card statement, w showed an amount credit card with a total of $4792.50., put on April 27, 2022. This is a fraudulent charge, which I did not authorize. Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/06/29) */ This information is simply not true. We would never alter documentation once there has been a signed agreement. We are upfront with program fees and costs. There is a membership fee, and the photo session fee is an additional amount. Nothing was added to the membership agreement later in a deceitful manner. Ms. ******'s copy of the membership agreement has the same information as the one in her file (which was already submitted to the BBB). We even have the client sign a separate photography receipt that states the photo fee, which was signed and dated by Ms. ******. A copy has been provided for the BBB to view. Ms. ****** also signed the credit card receipt with the total amount for the membership plus photos. She was presented with all of this information upon joining.
