I purchased two batteries for my boat. When installed the batteries was defective and wasnt even able to start the motor. I have to drive 4 hours to take the batteries back for a refund and they will not refund my money and I said I have no choice but to have the batteries replaced with the same ones. Since the batteries never worked at the ****** I was forced to buy batteries that work great with no issues to use my boat. This is fraud company who just sells c*** batteries and then screws customers over.Business Response

I purchased an interstate battery at ********* in 2020. It was replaced by ********* in ***, ***** because it failed. Please see ********* invoices attached as a pdf. on Feb 18, 2023 my car would not start. I took my vehicle to ****************** Dealership where i purchased by vehicle 2015 ***** Accord Sport. I was informed interstate battery was bad as well as my starter, I had to purchase another battery for $239.00 plus labor and a new cable for the new battery. My bill was over *******. I tried to have ********* replace my interstate battery under the warranty. They no longer sell interstate batteries because they go bad too soon. You are selling bad batteries to customers. WHY
interstate battery will not honor my warranty. a 78mt battery bought 18 months ago with a 24 month 100% replace is DEAD. local store will not replace, wants to keep for a day to charge it. i have charged it and it will not hold a charge. had to travel 30 miles to the store with DEAD battery, returned home 30 mile with no replacement battery, will return to store 30 miles to get replacement, and return home 30 miles to install in my car.
i've used interstate batteries many years, this is the first and last time i've had an issue with a warranty claim.
i will not purchase another interstate battery again. since johnson controls makes batteries for your competitors it's easy to say i will not purchase any battery manufactured by johnson controls. BUT WHAT I WILL DO IS BAD MOUTH INTERSTATE BATTERIES!!!!
BTW, HAVING MOST IF NOT ALL OF THE REPLACEMENT BATTERIES MANUFACTURED BY ONE (1) SUPPLIER COULD THIS BE A MONOPOLY? YES IT IS AND WHAT A BUNCH OF **** THEY (JOHNSON CONTROLS) ARE GIVING TO CUSTOMERS.Business Response

Have been told not enough cranking amps in batteries, which I need 2. They won't replace because they want to charge the cca , that can't be done enough because the battery has 650 cca and I need at least 800 to crank the diesel. If they try it will come up some but the batteries are 2yrs old. Bad warranty!!!!Business Response

Om April 14th, 2022 My wife and I purchased 4 12 volt golf cart batteries which we paid $996.40 for! These came with a 1 year warranty unless it was your fault meaning dropped overcharged etc! Well, we went to check the wiring on the batteries and found the one battery had a loose and bent terminal! Which should NOT happen! They told me they would refund me if i went and bought another battery took pictures of the damaged battery which the pics you cant really see the loose terminal you can see a little it is bent! Sent the original receipt and the new receipt and had the battery tested and it had to fail! I have all of these emails! Now today she sent me an email saying it is NOT GOING to be covered!!! Why put a warranty on batteries! They need to reimburse us $235 because that is bullcrap!!! Thats expensive for 1 battery and only lasted not even a full 5 months! As stated, I have all the emails from the lady at Interstate in the 'Warranty Department" her name is Kelani Dostal Customer Service Warranty Team! When i spoke with her today Thursday August 25th, 2022, and asked her what the deal was she said Well it's a used battery I said that's why we buy batteries to use them, and I hung up! This needs to be warrantied and we need to be reimbursed IMMEDIATELY!!! I am so over being racked over the coles! The warranty is there for a reason! We did not drop it or overcharge it or over tighten it! It was placed in the correct way and maintained properly for the prices of these batteries! I expect a refund IMMEDIATELY and they will get bad ratings!Business Response

Bent/broken terminals are considered abuse of the battery. Please see the warranty limitations below.
Warranty Exclusions and Limitations of Remedy
This limited warranty does not cover batteries that are merely discharged, or that are damaged due to abuse, neglect, misuse, fire, accident, collision, explosion, freezing, theft,
overcharging, alteration, improper installation, use of special additives, unauthorized attempt to repair, or failure to keep the battery properly maintained. IB's liability is limited to the
replacement of the battery according to the terms of this limited warranty. IB will not be liable for any punitive, consequential, or incidental damages, such as the cost of
installation, towing, electrical system tests, charging a battery, rental vehicles, labor, loss of time, loss of use of a vehicle, lost profits, or damage to property other than the battery. Some
States do not allow the exclusion or limitation of these incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you

First off I will NOT accept this as an excuse to a poorly made battery! Stand behind your warranty! "JUNK!!!" This limited warranty does not cover batteries that are merely discharged, or that are damaged due to abuse, neglect, misuse, fire, accident, collision, explosion, freezing, theft,
overcharging, alteration, improper installation, use of special additives, unauthorized attempt to repair, or failure to keep the battery properly maintained. IB's liability is limited to the

NONE OF THIS WAS THE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE OF THIS BATTERY!!!! IT WAS A POORLY MADE BATTERY! REFUND THE $250!!!! i WAS ALSO TOLD BY KEITH THE OWNER AT YOUR DISTRIBUTOR IN GILBERTSVILLE, PA THIS SHOULD BE SWAPPED AND REFUNDED! HE SAW THE BATTERY IN PERSON!
Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/08/30) */
About these statements in your response.
"i WAS ALSO TOLD BY KEITH THE OWNER AT YOUR DISTRIBUTOR IN GILBERTSVILLE, PA THIS SHOULD BE SWAPPED AND REFUNDED! HE SAW THE BATTERY IN PERSON!"
You also claimed" They didn't even allow me to take it to a dealer to get tested they just changed their mind and said they are not covering it because it was my fault! It wasn't!" You visited two dealers, and the Gilbertsville store, Interstate Batteries did not say you were not allowed to take the battery to another dealer, you are welcome to take it to any dealer you wish, the battery is not covered under the warranty due to abuse, bent/broken terminals falls under the warranty exclusions.
1. After speaking with Keith at the Gilbertville store, in his store records, show that you took the battery to the dealer you purchased the batteries from, and you were denied a warranty because of damage to the terminal, that it had not been properly installed, they did not install the batteries for you. (This dealer gets batteries from Keith's store."
2. You went to a second dealer and were told the same thing there. They also did not install the battery for you. (This dealer is also one of Keith's customers)
3. Then you went to Keith's store, where you were also turned down, because the damage to the terminal was caused by improper installation.
When you sent in pictures to the Interstate Batteries home office regarding the issue, we sent the photos to our engineering department who also determined the damage was from improper installation.
Bent/broken terminals are considered abuse of the battery. Please see the warranty limitations below.

***Document Attached***
1. Keith had no clue where Don's Golf Carts was even located! So to say he provides batteries to them I fond that very hard to belive!
2. If it was improperly installed thw battery would have took a **** soon after installation not 6 months later!
3. Keith stated the only reason he qould not replace it is because the national warranty was tak2n away so he would have lost his **** giving me a new battery! Hence why he told me to call corporate! So please stop the lies! Pay the $250 back to us for your crappy batteries! Some people have to work so I am just getting back to you now! My apologies!
Business Response /* (4000, 19, 2022/09/15) */
We have enclosed a copy of our warranty. As we have stated before, battery posts do not break or melt down all on their own. The post was not broken when the battery was purchased, we wouldn't sell a battery with a broken post. If you had the battery for six months and it was fine, that shows that the battery was good when you purchased it. What happened in the six months you owned the battery and how the post got damaged, once it was in your possession we cannot warranty a battery that was damaged. The warranty is in place for manufacturing defects, it does not cover abuse to the battery.

I am sorry but we are not accepting this! Pay the $250! We have the golfcart at our campsite and we cover it all the time! There is NO reason a post should have done this!!!! It WAS NOT ABUSED!! WHAT IS IT THAT YOUR COMPANY DOES NOT UNSERSTAND! YES, I SPENT 1K ON **** BATTERIES TO ABUSE IT! IF THIS IS NOT PAID I WILL GO FARTHER WITH THIS MATTER! A BIG CORPORATION AND YOU ARE REFUSING TO BACK YOUR PRODUCT!! AGAIN IT WAS NOT ABUSED!!!!! Our golf cart is very well maintained just like everything else we own!
