1 starI spent almost $14,000 with Houston Air Comfort on a new system for my home in 2022. Just last week my blower motor went out. Not only do it take them a whole week to come diagnose the problem, they charged me $200 for a service fee and then had the nerve to tell me I need to pay almost $2000 to have the repairs completed as they are rejecting my warranty due to lack of annual maintenance. Keep in mind this system has a 5 year parts only warranty regardless of maintenance on the system. Not to mention I was told by another installer that Houston Air Comfort never registered my system with Carrier upon installation. Absolutely horrible company to do business with. They are scam artists and have no problem taking advantage of people. I have had two local installers tell me what they are doing is wrong and unethical. I burger everyone to never do business with them.Houston Air Comfort

Good ********************************** sorry to hear that you feel weve acted unfairly please know that is never our intention. After reviewing your account, I see that your system was installed in 2022. Since the installation, we have not received any maintenance requests or service calls from you.
Per our policy, any system installation over one year old incurs a $195 diagnostic fee for system evaluation, as it is no longer covered under warranty. As of today, your warranty is void due to the lack of required maintenance. If you refer to your contract, under the Customer Quality Guarantees section, it clearly states: Annual maintenance required to keep all warranties valid. This applies to both the warranty we offer as a company and the manufacturers warranty through Carrier.
If needed, Id be happy to send you a copy of your original contract for your records, along with Carriers documentation regarding their warranty requirements.

It sounds like your company needs to go back and read the warranty details. After calling carrier directly and confirming my system has a 5 year parts only warranty regardless of maintenance, I was able to get the parts warrantied through my local installer. Also, when I spoke with your associate that gave me the quote and asked for a discount on parts, he told me the original price was $2500. My local installer was going to charge me $1700 before the parts were warrantied. So I stand by the fact that you guys are scam artists, and everyone will know how you try pull one over on your customers.Review fromMecca B

5 starsI had an excellent experience with AC comfort, **** was patient, and was able to get me approved for financing, he said they would come and install my AC tomorrow and they did, yay!!! The 2 men that came and installed my new unit were efficient with their time and finished in 2 hours and 30 minutes. They even gave me a follow up call to check up on me. 1 starIF I COULD GIVE BELOW 1 STAR, I WOULD! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. FAIR WARNING, STILL HAVING TROUBLE 5 YEARS LATER! My house was not evenly cooling in the summer nor heating in the winter. $10,450 later the job by Houston Air Comfort was finished plus $206.25 annual cost warranty. BUT Distribution of AC/Heat was still a problem. $10,000 fix was not working! I scheduled in 2020, May 23, June 23 and July 5th ..and they procrastinated with cancelling one appt, a no show appt, and cancelled the 3rd appt.
I contacted Home Serve, another service at my disposal that I had been paying for but had not used to see what they could tell me about this work I had done. Home Serve came in August and told me 1.) the ducts were installed too low, 2.) a return needed in the family room since it's most affected by the non-distribution of air and 3.) the boxes above the vents had not been changed with the "new installation!" I was shocked!
Upon contacting Houston Air Comfort I was told they do no acknowledge other company evaluations. They blatantly took my money and talked stupid to me!!!! In 2022, Houston Air Comfort called me for maintenance in October pending I pay another $206.25 to renew my warranty!!!!! Which I did thinking they would right this wrong, and guess what, THEY DID NOT SHOW UP!!!! They even had the nerve to contact me in 2023 saying I need to update my warranty again! At this point, NOPE "that's it, hell no and don't call me no more!!!"
Here we are in 2024 and I was having my ceiling replaced in the family room and what do you think fell from the ceiling? ALL THE OLD INSULLATION THAT WAS ORIGINALLY IN MY CEILING from 2000 when I bought this house, the roll out insulation that was done in 2012 barely any remnants on top of the popcorn insulation that Houston Air Comfort used when they supposedly made everything new. They did this big show of vacuuming out the old but that was just a show! THAT OLD CRUD, BLACK WITH MOLD AND CLEARLY THE JOB UNDONE...Houston Air Comfort

I won't be doing any business with Houston Air Comfort at all unless they complete what I already paid thousands of dollars for. That is where we can start, with the service you said I would get...if not free don't call me! If Houston Air Comfort is talking about coming and putting the insulation as I paid (you act like you removed the old but remodeling last week revealed how much yuck and mold as left there), put 2 returns in my family room that I was not told was needed, change the boxes connected from the ducts to the vents that were not changed with this $10,000 everything new service, lift my ducts to the proper height as I already paid, AND my house cool and heat evenly FREE then we can talk.
I did try to have Houston Air Comfort come back out and resolve but they told me my warranty would have to be renewed first, so I paid it again and scheduled, and they did a no show! that was my last attempt to "resolve my issue with their services"!!!
and Norma I believe is the one who scheduled me several times before, she's just talking a good talk!!!! I saw tons of other customers with the same complaints as mine!! company no good!Review fromMichael F

1 starHouston Air Comfort (same company as Texas AC Comfort with the same website and address) installed a new (and expensive) AC unit at our house in 2020, and gave us complimentary maintenance for 10-years. Since then, we have scheduled our annual maintenance regularly to maintain the warranty. Now all the sudden, they wanted to charge me ~$200 trip charge to come out and perform our AC maintenance! Asked to speak to the manger who wasn't available. Asked for the manager to call me back but he never called back. When I called back, no one would answer my calls. STAY AWAY from this company as they are not an ethical company and overcharge!Houston Air Comfort

I am sorry that you feel we did not meet your expectations. I see that we installed just a furnace and coil in 08/2019 and we did a fall maintenance 12/2021, we have called and left several messages to schedule maintenance with no call back to schedule. - It looks like you had no issues since the day of install and have not had any maintenances scheduled with us since the last maintenance in 2021. We do ask the customers to insure that there system is being properly maintenance to help with the life of the AC and to help with any future big service issues. 1 starI have never dealt with a less reliable company in my life. My nightmare began on Friday afternoon after a warranty call. I agreed with the diagnosis as I knew we needed to replace the aging unit. This began my nightmare. Salesman stated that they would install the unit today. I questioned this as I knew the scope of the work but was told we need move forward and it would only take a couple of hours. That began my nightmare and it continues as I am still attempting to get my issues resolved. The install team arrived at 4 pm and discovered we discovered, not them, that they had brought the wrong size unit. Unfortunately for me they had already removed my functioning unit and we'll here we go. When questioned I determined no one spoke English well enough to communicate with us causing more confusion. Made a call and correct unit was being sent, over two hours away. I asked to see the scope of work and they had none or any clue of additions we had agreed to in the contract, therefore no parts to complete but we will have you up and running shortly and return tomorrow to complete. I'll spare all the other issues but at 7 am the next morning the unit was finally running. Mind you I have two children, an elderly mother in law and a wife who suffers from Lupus who got no sleep due to construction noise all night. I had to cancel a job I had scheduled due to being up 24 hours. I was told that someone would be out at noon to complete. They finally arrived at 4 pm and dejavu. They finally completed the install at 2 am. The install of vent covers was terrible. They damaged sheet rock on ceiling, tracked tar on to the carpet broke existing vents and light shade. They gouged a closet door. They failed to clean up their mess and even left screws on house floor and driveway. Did I mention I woke up to a flat on my vehicle from one of their screws. When asked about fixing damage the best I could understand was to contact the company. Unacceptable.Houston Air Comfort

1 starSimilar to the other low ranking reviews for this “business”, I too received a horrible experience utilizing Houston Air Comfort.
I am not sure what service ethos they operate under but it appears that scamming, fraud and greediness is the hallmark of it all. We were charged nearly $200 just to have a technician come and evaluate our air condition unit. We had a inkling even before contacting them that it may have something to do with the freon. When we were told what the issue was-which was indeed a freon leak-we were then told that he would not be able to fix it that day and would have to call them back to determine if it’s under warranty. When I called the next day to get more information about them coming back to repair it, I was told to wait 24-48 hours for them to contact me. They never did. So, I contacted them. They then proceeded to inform me that replacing the Freon would be $3,050!
Why would they take our money and give us the run around knowing that the repairs were not under warranty in the first place then go on to quote an insanely over market price?
They are running a scam and if I were you I would take my business elsewhere.Houston Air Comfort

I can assure you that due to the new Freon, and the phasing out of the old, whether it be r22 or 410a, the market price of Freon or pueron per pound is rather high. 1 starTerrible customer service. The call center will always deflect you away from going up the chain. I recommend everyone to stay away from this company.
5 years ago I bought a complete brand new AC system from Houston air comfort and for 5 years my AC has struggled to keep my house below 80 in the summer.
At first I thought it was because I had an old house. So every year I have spent the spring improving my house but the AC never could keep up. Every year the Techs would inspect my system and every year they said it was fine. I paid $2000 for them to replace my AC compressor (under warranty) and they have not even had the decency to email me an invoice. When I called and asked for it they emailed me a receipt. After the "repair" was done the AC started short cycling. Fed up with poor workmanship I called another AC company. They found that the tech burned my wires, didn't replace the filter on the line, burned the low pressure sensor wires. They also found the wiring was not up to code and that it has had a leak from the initial install.
When I called them and asked for a supervisor to file a complaint they said that they where all busy and to email them. So that's what I did..... to no response. I called again, this time I asked for a specific extension, I was told that they where not in and that they would pass on the complaint and that they would call me back...... They still haven't.
