I engaged ************** to do a variety of work on our house as we readied it to be be listed for sale. Our pave stone patio had to be re-leveled, the patio cover needed to be replaced, the front and back yard needed to be re-sodded (**** pallets), the fence needed some minor work and a small tree had to be removed..Note, one month previous ************** had replaced 30 windows at a cost of $7500.When they were prepping the yard to be re-sodded, two workers came to the house. This was Thursday, August 3. One was the ******* of the group (****) and there was just one other worker. That worker was using a line trimmer and cutting the existing ********** at the ground. As expected, there was a lot of debris ejected and when he was close to the house the windows were peppered dozens of times. My wife and I were sitting in the den at the times (which is in the front of the home) and we both remarked we hoped a window didn't get broken. Once work moved to the side and back of the house I paid it no mind. On Monday, August 7, we were cleaning in the front of the house and discovered a large window in the formal dining area had a crack in it. I immediately texted ************** and he apologized and said he hadn't previous broken any windows. He asked me to send some photos, which I did. After this communication was by email and, essentially, he absolved himself of responsibility. He talked to ****, who acknowledged that his crew had broken windows before but denied responsibility.My last communication with ************** was August 19 and he said he was on vacation and was "discussing with ****". That was his last response.The day I discovered the broken window I called ************** and they gave me a quote of $745.38. I paid the 50% deposit then and the remainder when it was installed on August 17. His refusal to accept responsibility for his worker's damage is neither ethical nor professional. I would not use him again would not recommend any others use him either.
