I knew Dewberry Homes on “**** *******” magazine. I contacted with it for home addition project. David came to my house, did some measurements and provided a quote of $47886. On 5/23/2023, David came to my home again with a loose contact, took my $14365 check, 30% of total cost. After 5/23/2023, I didn’t get any contact from this company. I started to contacted David on 6/2/2023. - 6/2/2023, I asked for design for HOA approval, David replied "The design will be available as soon as I get it back from design/engineering company. " - 7/13 I asked design again , David replied: “If my designer doesn't get it to me quickly I will do drawings myself to get it in” - 7/19, I asked again -7/20, David replied “Yes I'm doing the drawings will have completed later today or first thing in the morning. Can you send me your site plan that shows your home on the lot with building lines please it's needed for hoa. Send email please so I can print “ -7/20, I sent survey to his email -7/24 I asked again - 7/26/2023, David sent me his hand drawing for hoa application - 10/3/2023, I notified David that hoa approved it and he can start the project -10/18 I asked start date again, David replied:”getting crew to start soon” 11/6, I asked again , David replied “have crew ready next week “ 11/13 I asked again, replied "meet framer tomorrow and update you" 11/14, no update 11-15, I asked for the company information, license . I feel this is a scam, I asked politely if there is possibility to cancel the agreement and get my money back. After 11/13, no reply 11/17 I called the company number, no answer, an hour later, terry called me back, I explained the situation. I believe terry talked to David, David replied my message, very rude, “ I will get with my attorney and get back to you ” My $14365 has been In dewberry’s hand since 5/23/2023, the only thing I got so far is the hand drawing for hoa application. I want to terminate the loose agreement and get my money back.
