A star is left due to being a requirement to leave a review. J&S Renovation gets 0 stars. This company run by John J H******* and Sophia F H******* is a scam. They have no remorse, no integrity and no credibility at all. They will take your money and materials and cheat you. Stay away!! They ask for 50% payment upfront and then continue to ask for additional deposits until they are fully paid. John flies under the radar while all payments go to Sophia's account and everything is in her name. They also try to convince you to ******* ***** the payments to avoid paper trail. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of hiring them to work on my new home. I was cheated out of over $17000. The work was not complete, what was done was done improperly/horribly. It will now cost more to fix what they did. My contracts were not honored in any way. When asked for a refund they became confrontational, refused to do a walkthrough, refused to give refund, and stopped all communication. They took not just the money but even the materials. After doing some research, it turns out they have had multiple complaints/lawsuits filed against them. Their own workers have complained about not being paid and cheated. The icing on the cake was that I was called a fake Christian for calling them out and not paying more than they demanded for incomplete work. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THEM AND STAY AWAY.
