I am asking you to review and file a complaint against Roadrunner Towing in *****, *****. I have proof that they damaged my daughters car towing it and they refused to give me their insurance information. They have caused over $14,000 in damage to my daughters car. They have many bad reviews on Yelp and a news story on KBTX investigating Roadrunners Towing unethical and illegal business practices. Here is the link to watch the story. ****************************************************************************************************************************************************** Roadrunners Towing is taking advantage of adults and students at ***. I would like to protect other people and students from being taken advantage of like we have and the other people in the news story. Thank you so much for looking into this terrible experience with Roadrunner Towing. Here is what happened:Wednesday, October 18, 2023 My daughter picked up her friend around 9 then drove to ******************************************************************************************************). Parked in section *************************************************************. She forgets to pay, and she is 100% responsible for forgetting to pay. ***** (TDLR number *****) with Roadrunner Towing towed her 2 year old **** Mach E electric car on a wheel lift tow truck. I googled if an electric car can be towed by a wheel lift tow and the article I read said no and explained why it damages the vehicle. Here is what it said:Towing an electric car Towing any kind of vehicle is risky, but when it comes to towing an electric car, many things can go wrong. Gas-powered vehicles can suffer from engine or transmission damage if not towed correctly. So, what is the big deal about towing an electric vehicle? Mostly, it comes down to misplacement of energy. You cant tow an EV using a tow dolly, a hook and chain truck, or a wheel lift tow truck. This is because in these methods, two of the wheels will be spinning. Again, it comes down to knowing your electric vehicle. Simply put, the spin continuously generates power to the battery, but that power isnt being used. Here is the full article:*********************************************************************************************************************************************************** came out around 12pm and noticed her car was gone.Thursday, October 19, 2023 The next day at 9:15am, My daughter and a friend drove to Brazos Valley Roadrunner Towing. They went to the office and gave them an insurance photo, driver's license and paid $347.10 to get the car back. Then, they walked into the gated off yard and saw her car with damages to the back left trunk, drivers side door, back right tire, and worst of all, the front bumper was dislodged with wires coming out. The electrical system in the car was flashing and beeping with many emergency signals going off. ***** and her friend told the towing company employee there was damage to her Mache E and the employee and my daughter proceeded to both take pictures of the damages while they were on the Roadrunner Towing lot. See Pictures below. The employee told my daughter that any damages would have to be filed through our insurance. They then left the lot to take it to **** since it said service was required immediately. See **** pictures below. I called our insurance that day and they said they would be sending out an adjuster to look at the car and estimate the damages to the car the following week.My daughter called me, sent me the pictures and I called Roadrunner Towing immediately. I spoke with ****** and explained to her that they had damaged the car, and they are responsible to repair the 2 year old electric vehicle with only ****** miles on it. I asked for the towing companies insurance information, and she refused to give it to me. I asked to speak to the owner, and I would speak to them about providing me with their insurance. I asked her to please have them call me right back. Of course, no one called, and I googled the company and found all the horrendous reviews on yelp and how there was a news story about them on KBTX stating Roadrunner Towing have illegal and unethical business practices. I called back 3 hours later and again spoke with ******. I again asked for her company insurance, and she refused to give it to me. I also asked to speak to the owners and have them call me which they never did.Friday, October 20,2023 I drove to ***** and went to Roadrunner Towing to speak with them in person. I spoke to ****** again. I recorded the conversation and have the recording if you would live to hear it. She called the owner while I was standing in front of her, and he refused to give me the insurance and told her to tell me to get off the lot and call the Sheriff on me. I was completely calm please listen to the recording. I went outside and took pictures of the business then asked ****** for the Sheriffs number and she gave it to me. I got in my car and called the Sheriff, we spoke, and he said it was a civil matter and I should report them to the ***** ********** of ********* and Regulations. He said I would have to take them to civil court. My daughter and I went to enterprise rent a car and I rented a car and gave my daughter my car so she could drive to get to class at *********. My rental car was returned for a cost of $1644.49. We rented a car in my daughter's name to get to school until her car is completely repaired at roughly $500 per week. Insurance is paying for this rental car.Monday, October 23, 2023 We filed the claim with our insurance company asking them to investigate the claim with Roadrunner Towing. Monday, November 6, 2023 My insurance company is estimating the claim to be over $14,000. Friday, November 10,2023 I received a call from ******* with the **** dealership in *************** saying they found additional damage (headlamp ect.), and they will be adding it to the estimate. We are still waiting for the additional damage amount. My rental car was returned for a cost of $1644.49. We rented a car in my daughter's name to get to school until her car is completely repaired at roughly $500 per week. Insurance is paying for this rental car.Thank you so much for reviewing what has happened to us by Roadrunner Towing. Please let me know if you need any other information from me. Thanks,Bridgit Dance

Do NOT do business with this company. They are predatory and have NO PROBLEM leaving young girls stranded late at night all while violating ***** law when it comes to releasing vehicles when the owner is present BEFORE they get towed off. My daughters car got towed last night while they were trying to download the app and pay. The law states that if the car is not finished being hooked up when the owner arrives, it has to be released without any charges or if already hooked up and not left yet, it has to be released and a drop fee is paid. They blatantly ignored this law when towing her vehicle. And of course, their cameras were supposedly not on to record anything according to an employee named ******. In trying to speak with the owner, *** this morning, who was extremely rude and wouldn't listen to what I had to say, hung up on me. And apparently, immediately after my daughters car was towed, another young lady's car was towed from the same parking lot. They have already been investigated by KTBX and found to be conducting predatory, illegal and unethical practices. See article here >>>> *************************************************************************************... Even after that they still continued and still continue to this day doing the same thing. See reviews here >>>> ***********************************************************************************************... Something needs to be done with this company. It needs to be shut down immediately. And for TDLR to keep renewing their licenses, they need to be held accountable too. Call your congressman and contact the Office of the Governor ********************* and let them know. This company is lucky nothing happened to my daughter and her friend last night. We will be seeing *** and ***************************** in court.
