I purchased some LED headlights less than a month ago and within 2 weeks one was dead. I brought it in today to exchange them because they told me I had a warranty and I’d be able to exchange them. When I removed one of the LEDs from my car, the plastic on the bulb had melted and attached to the actual headlight housing on the car, so when the bulb came out, so did apart of the headlight housing. So now I have to buy a brand new headlight assembly. Brought the bulbs inside, and they told me they would not be able to exchange the bulbs because of “abuse”, and they could only take the bulb back if it had stopped working. I advised them that the bulb did stop working once it melted, but they told me that’s something they didn’t cover, then tried to convince me that there was a problem with the wiring in my vehicle that sent too much power to the bulb. This is not possible because everything in modern cars is regulated, as well as the fact that there is a ballast attached to the LED bulb itself that ensures the correct amount of power is being sent to the bulb at all times. The owner of the business lied to me and told me that he was not the owner , just the delivery guy and did not have the power to exchange my bulb and if he did, he’d be taking a loss. The $30 “loss” he’d be taking doesn’t compare to the over $300 loss that I have taken considering I now have to buy a new headlight assembly. Their only advice to me was to buy another set of bulbs, or take them to court over the headlights. I told them that it wasn’t even worth the effort, and then they offered me a measly $10 discount on some more headlights. Not much at all considering I now have to purchase another headlight assembly from the damage that the bulbs that they sold me caused. The bulb could’ve easily continued to melt, and burned down my entire vehicle. I would’ve left a happy customer had they kept their word and exchanged the headlights for me.
