  BBB promotes truth in advertising by contacting advertisers whose claims conflict with the BBB Code of Advertising. These claims may come to our attention from our internal review of advertising, consumer complaints and competitor challenges.  BBB asks advertisers to prove their claims, change ads to make offers more clear to consumers, and remove misleading or deceptive statements. On August 21, 2024, BBB contacted Now Alchemy regarding advertised claims on their website, Now Alchemy. Now Alchemy advertises claims, "Now Alchemy Anti-Cancer bundle may help with the following: 

  • Immune modulation
  •  Removal of free radicals from the body
  • Parasite Detox
  • Inhibit tumor growth
  • Prolonged life span
  • Avoiding tissue damage." and

  "Now Alchemy Ormus Plus may help with the following:

  • Brain Function
  • Longevity
  • Balanced nervous system
  • Overall health and wellbeing
  • Colorful, lucid dreams
  • Immune support"

  And "Limitless Mushrooms The most complete and effective medicinal mushroom supplement on the market." Their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/NowAlchemyOrmus, states, "Bee Propolis One of the world's strongest anticancer agents." and "Beauty, the most complete all natural acne cleaning formula on the market." and "Bee Magic may help support with diabetes, cold sores, sore throat, burns, canker sores, herpes, irritable bowel syndrome, gastric ulcers, periodontal disease, upper respiratory infections, athletic performance. Hay fever, eczema, constipation, obesity, PMS, dry eye and more."  BBB Code of Advertising states, claims relating to performance, energy savings, efficacy, or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data. BBB requested Now Alchemy provide any evidence, including but not limited to studies from recent and competent testing or other objective data substantiating their services and claims of their specific products or discontinue any statements claiming results. As of September 24, 2024, Now Alchemy failed to respond to BBB's request to substantiate or discontinue the advertised claims.
