Brought dog in to diagnose lack of appetite and vomiting on April 9th to:ACCESS Southbay (a Thrive hospital). - After diagnostic, $1,200 in treatments were recommended - Following visit, we identified an obvious ear infection - Called to update hospital. Received VM back stating 'if we couldn't afford them we should find a more affordable alternative (never discussed finances prior)'- Following vet confirmed in shared documentation that ears were never looked at at ACCESS and it turns out dog in fact had serious double ear infection. - Called ACCESS to follow up, who claimed that ears were looked at. Not only would an ear infection have been obvious if looked at, but again, the official notes as shared with partner vets mentioned nothing of this. I am filing this claim because they not only failed to perform their duty as a hospital (diagnose to the best of their ability), but they shamed a client for not wanting to pay $1K for additional diagnostics that - given his condition, would not have been necessary, and then on the following call, lied about what actual diagnosis had been conducted. A billing adjustment will not make my dog better, but it will help cover the $500 I had to spend at the following vet, who was finally able to provide care.
