I purchased a car mid-September around the 20th. 2010 *** X5 M. They knowingly sold me a bad engine car. During the text drive I came back and said the car has a burning smell. I was told they just changed the oil and wasted some on the engine that it will burn off. Not 2 weeks after having it, the computer messed up. I told them and emailed about the car burning smell and they said when they look at the computer, they will check out the smell. They sent to ***** ******* a *** Auto repair shop. It took them 2 weeks to even approve ***** ******* to diagnose it. They fixed the computer and also noted the car has a funny burning smell in the engine, but they would have to do further testing to figure out what the issue is. The dealer told me their in house mechanic said it was the control air arms but I called ***** ******* directly and asked and they got mad that the mechanic there told me he couldnt give me the exact issue because R&D didn't approve the diagnoses. I was then told by R&D they will order the parts because they also broke the oil cap. I only was forced to buy a car because my dad's disease was getting worse, and I needed to be mobile. I specifically asked them to ask the mechanic if the control arms are not on will it mess up anything because i am traveling for my dad. They said no. I told them after my trip there is an oil leak and that's the issue because I have to put a quart of oil. They ignore me the entire time. I email and say it, and they keep saying it is something else until the freeze came in January and overnight the oil came out the car. I noticed on my way to work. Pulled over called immediately. They towed it from my job. They say they fixed it, and I had to pay my note and 350 to fix the car. A week later again it stops. I take it too them and this is the day before my dad's funeral. They say the engine is gone, said they will trade it for 8000 and bring them another 1000 to do a trade of a vehicle. They have taken my money and left me.

In February I paid $4000.00 on a used car in march the car broke down! They fixed it a month later I still paid the car note and insurance on the car plus $700 in fees to fix the car. On June 15, 2023 the car starter went out I paid $600 to fix it. 2 days later the starter went out again. Paid $400 more to put another starter in the car! On July ******* traveling from ******* with my two children the car stopped on the highway. Oil was all on the back of the car and it wont start I called the car lot and told them the car broke down and where it was located! The car has been in their possession since July 30, 2023 and as of august ******* they issued a repo on the vehicle which is now on my credit! They havent tried to fix my car for me never credited me any money I have spent out of pocket towards my note just very unprofessional. Now I have a repo on my name due to their negligence. R&D motors on 53 1/2 street took over $6000 from me and messed my credit up now with a bad car!

I financed a vehicle threw the company r&d may 18th 2024. 12 days into having the car the check Engine light came on nd the car stopped and wouldnt move. I had the vehicle towed back to them there sales agent ***** told me they would have the vehicle looked at nd repaired and that they dont do loners so I would juss have to wait untill they called me back. They never called and gave any updates i had to call once a week to check on the status of the vehicle. 2 weeks in I was told it was the drive shaft that had broken and cracked the oil pan nd it would be sent to their specialist I revived the vehicle back roughly a month after dropping it off. I noticed the check Engine light still on so I took the car to get looked at by a mechanic shop. They ran the codes and it came back as the catalytic converter nd showed there was major build up and was causing lost of power. So I went back to the dealer and told them the issues they said they would see what they can do. They never contacted me again I called back a week later nd asked for any updates nothing also at this point I havent received my tags or registration stickers so I started to feel like they where playing me from the jump and never had the vehicle properly inspected or they did and just did patch up work to get the car off the lot and let the buyer deal with it. But I ended up receiving my tags in late June still no words on the part for the check engine light. July 6th comes the stops driving as it did the first time 12 days into having the car so I have the vehicle towed back to rnd and tell them they sold me a bad car and that I would like to trade out for another vehicle and it doesnt have to be as nice as the car I had because I was already out of so much cash from the 3500 I put down and the 300 a month payments since having the car even when I wasnt driving it and paying for rides but they did what they all was do and said they will call me back but they never did now I have a repo on my credit

************** did purchase his vehicle with us and finance it. We sell all of our vehicles as is without a warranty. We do want to help our customer's if an issue comes up shortly after the sale as we are trying to build a good relationship. Unfortunately sometimes it takes time to get a vehicle into our shop and then we are at the mercy of the vendors we purchase the parts from. We replaced the parts and did not charge the customer for any of the repairs even thought the vehicle was sold without a warranty. It seems the drive shaft failed, he asked for an ETA on when we could have it ready. Since we are unable to provide an ETA without diagnostic and parts delivery, we explained we are working to get the vehicle checked to see if the part that failed is under warranty. After a few days ************** called back in and said he just wanted to return the vehicle as he doesn't want to deal with any other issues. Returning a vehicle is cancelling a legal binding finance contract will show as a repossession. ************** was obviously frustrated with the situation. We would like to keep our customer's and relations ships in good standings, I can facility his request and remove the repossession from his credit. Please ask ************** to dispute the repossession and we will remove the loan from his credit.

      Thank you

Dodge caravan was bought from dealership on March 22,2024. Everything was ok with the vehicle other than no radio for the first week and like 2-3 days vehicle started smoking and overheating, took vehicle to dealership to be looked at they said mechanic would look at it, took over a week for them to pull vehicle to the shop. After a week and 4 days they released the vehicle back to us saying they replaced thermostat and there were no other problems. A week goes by and vehicle is overheating again, sales person **** sends a tow truck to pick vehicle up a week and five days later vehicle is ready my wife goes to pick the vehicle up and it starts over heating not even 15 mins of being off the lot. She had to turn around and go back to the lot and sit there for over 2 hours with the Vice president of the company telling her to just leave the vehicle after we voiced our concerns of constantly continuing to be without a car and and my wife being pregnant needing to be at a doctors appointment. The car sat on the lot for almost 2 weeks in the same spot waiting for mechanics to finish a big project before looking at the vehicle. When they looked at the vehicle. They could not find a problem, mechanic drove my vehicle home. They said nothing was wrong other than low coolant I went to pick up the vehicle and while driving around my worksite only 5 mins away from the dealership the car started over heating again. Took vehicle back the next day. when I took it back VP asked whats wrong she stated this would be the last time of trying to figure out what was wrong with the vehicle before having to find another solution it has continued to be a runaround situation and while all of this has been going on, I paid my down payment, deferred down payments, kept up with insurance payments and car payments. to not be driving the vehicle that Im paying on and paying insurance on. Have payed R&D motors a total of ******* and maintaining a almost $500/month insurance payment as well

********************** purchased a vehicle sold "AS IS," meaning it came without a warranty. Shortly after the purchase, he contacted us regarding the vehicle overheating. While not obligated due to its AS IS status, we chose to assist ********************** to ensure his satisfaction. After inspecting the vehicle, we discovered a faulty thermostat causing the overheating. Despite returning the vehicle to him, the issue persisted, leading to inconvenience for ********************** and his wife. Despite their frustration, we committed to resolving the problem at no additional cost to them. However, ************************** demands for a different vehicle and disrespectful behavior towards our team prompted a firm stance on adhering to our policies. We offered to explore options if the repair costs became prohibitive. A compression test revealed no prior engine overheating issues. Ultimately, we covered the expense of repairing the Dodge, demonstrating our commitment to customer satisfaction beyond contractual obligations. Despite this, ********************** remained responsible for his financial commitments, as our actions aimed to exceed standard service expectations.

I purchased a Vehicle from this company in October of 2022. Within 2 months of having the car the entire transmission went out. I returned the vehicle for repair it took them 4 months to do anything and then they wanted to charge me $3500. I didn't have the money to pay as I had already given them $4000 between down payment and monthly payments in that short time and now just recently they reported to my credit that it was repossession. I do not recommend doing business with this company as they have costed me a lot of grief and money.

I purchased two vehicles from R&D motors, both of which had is***s and lights on the dash upon purchasing, but was assured that they were going to fix them. Big mistake because of course that was a lie. This company's employees completely fabricated the work they did saying that an oil change was done, and timing belt were changed, when in fact they werent. They then returned the car to me with zero coolant, causing it to have warning lights come on about it overheating and it need to be towed back to them. The tow took them 3 weeks to arrange, and they have had the car for over a month now, still charging me for payments tho.The other vehicle I purchased from them at the same time didn't have a coolant cap, which I pointed out but they never fixed.Again zero receipts produced and ***** admits the mechanic lied about performing the work on it also,so no oil change,no solenoid/sensor on transmission fixed still won't shift correctly, still sitting on two FLAT bald tires they said they would replace, and of course no overflow coolant cap. After I found out they lied and never performed the work on either vehicle I have still had repeated is***s trying to get them to fix and show proof of the is***s they said they would fix upon purchasing and they refuse to provide any compensation or remedy for their incompetence. They refuse to produce a single receipt even after admitting they lied about doing the work,TWICE, on two cars! This wasnt a one time mistake this is apparently how they operate. Both cars sat there for over a month to be worked on and they did nothing but take my money and lie.Good luck getting the owner *** on the phone,he refuses to show his face or take responsibility for the lemons he sells.I am filing AG consumer complaint and retaining a lemon law attorney to *** them. Their customer service is horrendous and they don't even apologize for their deceptive treatment of their customers.I would warn anyone who reads this to never buy a vehicle from these crooks. Run!

This customer, ************************* purchased a 2011 ***** 2 from ** 2/3/2023, this vehicle was sold AS IS without a warranty.  Then on 2/16/2023 ****** called and said her check engine light came and the car was making a funny noise.

We told ****** that we could schedule an appointment and get this looked at for her and possible get it fixed at NO cost to her. She just kept asking for her money back or get a loaner vehicle. We explained that we do not have a cooling off period (picture of the sign in office attached), we do not do refunds and we do not provide loaner vehicles, but what I could do was get it into the shop and see if we can get this issue resolved at NO cost to her.  ****** dropped the vehicle off on 2/22/2023 and we got it into the shop and got it checked out. The car had a motor mount that started making noise and needed a new serpentine belt and pulley. While we were in the process of replacing the parts we received a dispute on ******'s credit card where she told them she never took possession of the vehicle and was trying to get her down payment back. I was able to submit the proof that she did take possession of the vehicle and that not only that we fixed her car and we have called her to come in and pick it up. Her response to that was she did not want the car she only wants her money back. We told her that if she does not pick up the car and make the payments we would need to proceed with voluntary surrender of the vehicle. ******, did not pick up the vehicle, make the payment that is due or keep the full coverage insurance. At that point we moved forward with the voluntary surrender. Since the ****** has been trying to get her money back anyway she can.I will attached a copy of the internal emails we the company is communicating back and forth about how we can help this customer.

And to this day i am being charged by a toll for whoever they sold the car too .

When the vehicle was purchased it was in working order. with in a week a few issues came up. I can understand how frustrating it is to have a used vehicle start having issues shortly after you purchase it. That is why when you reached out to ** about the issue we offered to get the vehicle to our shop to get the issues looked at and hopefully resolved at no cost to you. That is our policy on how to resolve an issue like this. We not only did take the car in and fix the issues at no cost to ****************, we called her once the vehicle was completed and asked her to pick it up. She only wanted her money back and that was the only solution she would accept. Unfortunately that is not a solution that we can provide. *************** did sign a financial contract to pay the 2011 ***** 2 off and if she did not the vehicle would be repossessed. Since **************** said she would not pick the vehicle up as she has disputed her payment with the credit card company and she is trying to get her money back regardless of the legal binding contract she signed when purchasing this vehicle.  At this point the vehicle is delinquent and does not have full coverage insurance so the vehicle was been repossessed. We are calling it a Voluntary surrender  as the vehicle was dropped off by the customer.

This company will scam you out of your money. They are not true and honest. They do not care about your safety or well being. They gave me a car knowing I had already been looking for some time. They said they would fix all the issues before we signed the paperwork. I have dropped my car off more than 4 times to get fixed. They take there time and half the time no one is working. Everyone but ***** is rude and will lie to you. ***** is the manager or in charge. They just want a sale and the cars are completely overpriced. They have horrible communications regarding customer service. I will make sure that I will never purchase with a buy here pay here company ever again. They will treat you different depending on what you look like.

R&D Motors fulfilled the signed agreement regarding what was owed to be fixed. Within the Purchase Agreement, the client signed an "AS IS" form which is thoroughly explained in writing and reviewed with the client verbally, the unit is being sold as-is. The client refused to pay the deferred down payment also stated in the signed Purchase Agreement. Several members of our team attempted to collect the amount owed, going above & beyond with the client and giving extra time to make a payment, in hopes to resolve the matter. These are written terms within the contract the client acknowledged, signed & refused to abide by. R&D Motors takes great pride in customer service with our clients and is willing to go the extra mile to assure a great experience, this client included. When the agreement is not fulfilled on the clients behalf we are inclined to move forward based on the signed terms and conditions.

I am rejecting this response because: I was not informed it would be **** down payment. I was not informed that it would be **** down for the first payment. I gave my money and did all that they asked of me to do. I waited and I waited for them to fix the problems. They let me test drive it around the block. After I officially started driving the car all the gauge controls went off and on. I never knew the speed that I was going. If you went up to ***************************************************************** the car. When they said AS IS I didn't not expect to lose trust in my dealer. They gave me a broken car and offered to fix it after I paid my down payment. They made there money at that point. The car was not worth what I paid but I was willing to be patient. They kept asking me to bring the car back and take it to different places. None of the problems were never addressed. I have proof they wanted me to pay $600 more on top of the **** before I even got the car back. I understood the agreement, even when I had the money the car still was not ready. They had a part mix up. So the whole time they put me in a bind and I came to them to get out of a bind. I Trusted the people who worked there to understand my situation. They played on my emotions as I have never seen before. I even asked for a different car and they said no. So I worked with them all that I could. I would have been out of a car for the holidays. Plus they wouldn't be fixing on a car if it wasn't there fault. Why would you fix on an AS IS car if that's not your  policy.

As mentioned before, we agreed upon certain fixings of the vehicle per the signed We Owe agreement form. Our team heard every concern and addressed those concerns within a reasonable amount of time. Frustrations rose when giving you a timeline for parts to be delivered which did not align with your schedule. Unfortunately parts shipping & receiving timelines are not in our control & there was nothing further we could have done to expedite the process. With a booked shop schedule we moved your vehicle to the front of the line as soon as parts were delivered to ensure R&D Motors delivered outstanding customer service to you. It is with deep regret you feel you had a negative experience, considering our efforts put forth to assist you in any manner within our control with both our mechanic shop & extended time frame for payment. As previously stated, if you do not follow through on your end of the contract regarding payment, we are inclined to move forward as stated on the agreed & signed contract.

      Respectfully,

I am rejecting this response because:R & D motors need to check and re-check the cars they certify for customers. This car was not suitable for driving at that time. There were too many repairs to be done and constant maintenance errors. Regardless of the repair order, the car should have never been cleared to drive. The timeframe of the repairs was not acceptable. I came to you all for a car that worked because I didn't have one. So imagine how much more exhausting it is to get one and it doesn't work for you. I am not the manager but I would have handled the repairs beforehand. This way you didn't have to deal with this issue. In the future I hope that making a review or complaint actually changes things. I also hope they never do this to someone else.

      Regards,
