Because the VA has a contract with Hanger, I have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with them since early January 2024 and decided to officially end all future interactions with Hanger on 4/19/2024 after a series of failed communications and I still do not have my orthotics. Then, the clinician at the ******************** clinic, ***************************, wrote in her message to the VA that the reason I decided to cancel all future appointments is due to a "scheduling error." Never would I cancel future interactions with anyone or any company due to a scheduling error. That would be ridiculous. This is an outright lie, and I still have all email messages, text messages, and voicemails from or to this clinic to prove it. Based on the many reviews and complaints that I have read across various online platforms, I can tell that Hanger clearly does not strive to provide the highest quality of patient care or customer service, and that they are not sincerely sorry about any negative experiences. I am a Clinician employed with Hanger Clinic for nearly 30 yrs. Recently retired on December 29th. To date, after numerous phone calls to the corporate office in ******* *****, i still as of this date have not received my 2023 *** form. They claim to have sent a W-2 to my home in January and claim more recently to have sent another in mid February. the only Hanger location now doing diabetic shoes and inserts in their central ******* locations...I have used them on more than one occasion...the last two appointments have been Canceled by some unknown means!!! They only say "sorry" we can see you on this future date....for this cancelation action my appointment was made in October 2023, after the required paperwork was received, and was set for January 09, **** 90 days out....no pre-appointment calls or emails were received so I called them and they established that the appointment was canceled...I do not have my future date appointment at the time of this complaint as I'm waiting on a 48 to 72 hour call back.....they only allow messages at the ************, you can't speak to a person for any action, only on their schedule to "CALL YOU BACK"...my health care provider has no options available other than Hanger Clinic...they note **** Insurance companies participate with them, maybe the profitability is low but the throughput of bodies must be high so all costs plus profit would seem to be available.. Poor customer service . I was supposed to receive my custom orthotics in December of 2023. They had to redo my mold. Something about it had been lost. I don't know who lost it. I really don't care. They had to rescheduled my appointment to pick up my orthotics twice and then was going to reschedule it again when they called me and I said no, it had something to do with the manufacturer but that is not my problem. That is theirs. I did not choose their manufacturer. And so constantly rescheduling. It pushed me into ****. I had met all my deductible and out of pocket for 2023 which is why this was scheduled for 2023 and they wanted me to pay an additional $ $250+ to receive my customer ********************** this year. I already had this in place for last year. I did not choose their manufacturer. I chose them but they refused to honor their agreement on what they were to charge me because of the date that I would have received my orthotics. Needless to say, I canceled everything and I will not deal with them and I don't recommend them for any type of custom orthotics.Hanger, Inc Response

Worst experience EVER! I used to have ******** when I first started dealing with them. They don't like ******** patients because they say the insurance pays late and doesn't pay enough. Every balance I've ever had after insurance I have paid with them and on time. They are really mean and nasty when you have ********. Fast forward to 2023, I have commercial insurance, but they wanted to force me to fill out a ******** authorization. I had my Dr. complete the document and then suddenly they say they don't make "diabetic shoes" any longer. I have a TMA (no toes on my right foot) and a condition with my left foot that renders me unable to wear ANY standard consumer footwear. I had a pending order, but NO ONE even bothered to call me and tell me that "oh, we don't make shoes anymore" AFTER I was fitted. This place is racist and discriminatory.Hanger, Inc Response

My podiatrist sent me to them ***************, **. To have wraps made for my ankles. A plaster mold was made, I waited a month, got to appointment was told the makers of the wrap wanted a scan done before making them. I have trouble believing hanger had no idea before the month was up that a scan was needed. The wraps were ready a week later. They are flimsy, not supporting, and dont fit in any shoe, believe me tried different sizes. Totally worthless and a waste of time. Better results with my over the counter ankle wraps I can buy. Maybe they are good for missing limbs I dont know. But for what I needed, I will not be returning or recommending this company.Thank You *************************Hanger, Inc Response

I agree with ********** below. My poor 84 year old dad had to have his leg amputated. Hanger came out once to put a "shrinker" on it. The shrinker did it's job and became too large and was falling off. My dad called, I called twice. Nothing was done and it's been 2 weeks. We were hoping to have him measured for a prosthetic soon, at this rate, he will be in a wheelchair for life. I'm firing them and looking into other more reputable *****************, Hanger will respond to this review with it's standard "We're so sorry......." BS comment. I am so disgusted with Hanger in ***********, **. I left a brace that I have to have to walk with, with them in March. That was 3 months ago. It needed some leather repair done. They kept it for a month then sent it to *******, who evidently kept it for 2 months. A week ago it was back in *********** and I still can't get it. What is the problem? These are appliances people depend on and this business treats it's customers like disposable trash. This company should not be in business. They have no idea how to serve the public and don't care to learn. They are a poor excuse for a business.Review from Mary G

I would rate 0 if possible. Calls go to voicemail at all hours when they are open and they never call you back. Website says 6 month warranty on custom orthotics my Afo had a part break they will not repair without a new prescription its a repair so I cant walk or get an appt till its fixed I now have to chase primary care for new script and they hate dealing with this company! They also misread our insurance twice and charged for things covered also didnt submit for a product because its always denied I cant file an appeal unless they submit its not their decision to not file. lousy customer service From front aofficeHanger, Inc Response
