I lived at Community First Village for 6 years. This place is like living in the streets with little microhomes to retreat to. There are drugs and drug paraphernalia all over the place. I had to stop washing my clothes in the community laundry mats in ************************************************************************************* multiple bathhouses. You can throw out solid solutions to the problems there at the village and the staff of Community First Village (a program umbrellaed under Mobile Loaves and Fishes) would swat down any positive solution to every problem to help the group of people they serve get the help they need. It was and still is mind blowing. After the pandemiuc there really were no services for the neighbors. They could pick weeds or scrub toilets, that's not bringing dignity. The once a week community AA meeting was held at the community table by ************************. Unfortunately, the turnout was low because the meet place had a video recorder with both audio and video. That is hardly anonomous. They harbor felons and drug dealers at the village so there is no chance for healing for some because you cannot heal in an unhealthy enviornment with these things taking place. I remember being a staff member on ************* under ************************* and asking for help for a particular neighbor that sat in his own f**** and urine for days at a time to get someone to help shower him. Months went by and **************** Services stepped in (thank goodness they took him out of there) and......he is not the only one. Community First needs a group of qualified staff to achieve the early idea of Community First Village. It is not what it was inteded to be.....especially with the wrong people in charge.
