    Do not let the Austin American Statesman or the *************** near your credit card. They will make it difficult to cancel, maybe impossible.They also do things like change rates without informing customers. And renewing with notification. They took my wife for over $400 for subscription she didn't know she had, didn't want, and can't remember asking for. When I noticed the charges and asked for a refund, they say they had a policy of no ********** now I have a policy of telling people to avoid them. I worry they especially prey on the old who are less familiar with the digital world.

    Trying to cancel subscription very difficult to get charge off of my credit card. I DID NOT authorize charge.

    11/22/23. Like many others I am a night worker. I I like the format of the newspaper which is more like a newspaper than the Internet info-page format of Yahoo/ Fox but they used to deliver the iPad e-paper version about 3 AM, now it is about 4:45 AM & today 11/22/23 it is still not available for download at 5:25 AM. The ********* was available for download close to 3 AM today so they can deliver faster national news than local news. (Todays edition showed up about 5:30 AM.) Recently they have twice delivered the Austin paper without a front page & twice delivered the included ********* without a front page. Large full page Ads are becoming more intrusive. They repeat articles from day to day. Although they have developed worse service they have recently raised the price significantly.They now meet their needs but not my needs. Newsprint editions are becoming obsolete & if they dont improve the quality of the offering/ service I think the local daily newspaper in any form will also disappear. I have made my decisionI wont be with them for ****. I will hang in for the Christmas ads then I will cancel my subscription & go back to reading iPad books while getting news from the internet.

    Once you subscribe, they try to make it impossible to cancel. They also fraudulently overbilled my credit card, but the credit card company is honoring my stop payment request. These people are crooks. Deal with them at your peril.

    I signed up for the digital subscription to read an article behind a paywall and it took me months and several attempts to cancel. I couldnt access my account online, every log in attempt I got an error message owner user link error. **************** email couldnt help, gave me a link for a chat. First chat agent couldnt find my account, told me to contact apple support since I signed up with my Apple ID. Apple couldnt find any record in my purchase history. Second chat agent finally was able to find my account and cancel it, but I cant get a refund for the 3 months I paid for a service I couldnt use. They make it purposefully difficult to cancel your account to keep leaching money from you. Ive never had such a terrible experience with any online subscription and Im now filing a chargeback with my credit card company.

    A total joke of a newspaper. Can't rely on getting a paper but you can rely on getting a renewal notice. One excuse after another. You either talk to someone in ******, Columbia or ***************. Good luck understanding who you're talking to. Funny how there's a list of staff members but not one for the Circulation Manager.I've been a subscriber for decades but the Statesman is a ghost of its past. ***************** tomorrow". Zero stars.

    Worst paper ever for a large city--no saturdays- no holdays-full of whole page ads-- current news 2 days late--very little news coverage-- lot of filler articles--city state section is actually the obituary section-- 360 section worthless --delivery problems - don't do e news--switched to a real paper - New ************ love it

    The one star is for delivery. Horseshoe Bay has severe delivery issues and it is obvious the States an does not care. Someone at Statesman needs to step up and correct this. Cli g daily to report no paper for weeks on end gets all of us nowhere.
