BBB promotes truth in advertising by contacting advertisers whose claims conflict with the BBB Code of Advertising.  These claims may come to our attention from our internal review of advertising, consumer complaints and competitor challenges.  BBB asks advertisers to prove their claims, change ds to make offers more clear to consumers, and remove misleading or deceptive statements.  

On July 27, 2021, BBB contacted IVitamin regarding their advertised claims on their website https://ivitamintherapy.com.

IVitamin advertises benefits of NAD+ IVs including:  “Anti-Aging, Brain & Energy Optimization and Performance & Endurance.”

BBB Code of Advertising states claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy, or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data.

BBB requested IVitamin provide any evidence including but not limited to studies from recent and competent testing or other objective data substantiating their services and claims about their services or discontinue any statements claiming results.

IVitamin's website also advertises they provide Exosome IV Therapy including “X Rated Facial with Exosomes” and “Facial Rejuvenation with Exosomes” 

IVitamin advertises: “Patients have experienced better sleep, improved sustainable lasting energy, improved mental clarity, a decrease in pain throughout the body, an increase in mobility and movement, improved migraines or severe headaches and more.”

“Exosomes begin cellular repair and stimulate the production of collagen while increasing elastin and fibroblasts.  As the body’s collagen production continues over time the benefits will continue to improve and may last for up to 12-24 months.”

“What Can Exosomes Help With?-Reducing pain, hair loss, migraines, restoring physical function and mobility.”

“Micro needling with regenerative exosomes which can improve fine lines… This treatment is similar to PRP with micro needling but some physicians are saying is 1000% more effective.”

BBB's research found there are currently no FDA-approved exosome products and according to FDA these products require FDA approval before being marketed for use in patients. BBB also found the safety and efficacy have not been proven. 

Additionally, according to Federal Trade Commission, “no studies have established that stem cells cure, treat or reduce the severity of diseases or health conditions in humans.  With the exception of a few FDA-approved treatments, stem cell therapy is still largely experimental."

IVitamin's website also advertises their therapy can "Improve Immunity, Boost Energy, and Increase Productivity."

BBB requested IVitamin to substantiate the advertised claims by providing evidence from recent, reliable, and competent studies or other objective data substantiating these claims of their specific products or discontinue the advertised claims to address BBB’s concern.

IVitamin also advertises “EmSculpt is the only FDA approved procedure to help both men and women build muscle and burn fat.  EmSculpt delivers the latest most cutting-edge technology in body contouring to give patients more muscle, less fat without the gym or surgery.  20,000 muscle contractions are done in each session.”

BBB was unable to confirm FDA approval and the claimed result of EmSculpt and requested IVitamin to substantiate the advertised claims by providing evidence from recent, reliable, and competent studies or other objective data substantiating these claims or discontinue the advertised claims to address BBB’s concern.

Lastly, IVitamin's website advertises “See EMTONE Results-93% reduction in all visible cellulite, 64% more effective than stand alone TX for building elastin, and 50% faster than standalone therapies."

BBB requested IVitamin to substantiate the advertised claims by providing BBB with evidence from recent, reliable, and competent studies or other objective data substantiating these claims of their specific products or discontinue the advertised claims to address our concern.

As of August 17, 2021, IVitamin failed to respond to BBB's request to substantiate or discontinue the advertised claims.
