******************* is the co-borrower for a Climb Credit loan. Loan Science works on behalf of Climb Credit to perform third party collections for Climb Credits delinquent accounts. ****************************** (***) is the loan servicer for ********************** loan. Loan Science receives data from *** when a borrowers account is delinquent. Loan Science does not contact borrowers unless they have delinquent balances on their account.
After researching ********************** account in the *** payment portal, it was determined that the loan accounts balance was delinquent in February and March 2023 due to unpaid late fees and delinquent in May and June 2023 due to non-payment and a returned payment. Additionally, it was determined that neither ******************** nor the borrower are enrolled in automatic payments. ******************** and the borrower have made all payments via *** and have not made any payments with Loan Science.
In response to ********************** request for a correction of credit reporting, Loan Science cannot comply with this request due to the fact that Loan Science does not report to credit bureaus. Any issue with ********************** credit report will need to be handled by *** or Climb Credit.
Loan Science has not violated any regulations regarding the communication frequency for ******************** or the borrower.Loan Science contacted ******************** on the following dates:

Loan Science is contacting my relatives with my name and the addresses of my family, with letters demanding my student loan be paid in full when I am already making current payments for this loan as agreed. The original loan is with ************ and managed by UAS Connect. I have verified with UAS that my information with them is correct and current. Loan Science is committing fraud and I want them to cease and desist immediately as well as have NO MORE CONTACT from Loan Science to me or any of my family members on ANY OF MY LOANS since they insist on creating fraud.Business response

Loan Science works on behalf of ************ to perform third party collections for Climb Credits delinquent accounts. Per Regulation F *******, Loan Science mailed a debt validation letter to ****************** at the address (******* Dr) provided by her loan servicer, *****************************. The letter was mailed on 06/15/22 and was returned as undeliverable on 6/26/22. After reviewing ********************** account, a Loan Science agent marked this address as undeliverable/unverified. However, at this time, the Loan Science agent mistakenly marked the next address (Maple Cir) on Ms. ******** account as deliverable/verified. This error was corrected at a later date but was not corrected prior to Loan Science's automated system re-sending the debt validation letter to ****************** on 07/01/22. The 07/01/22 letter was mailed to the Maple Cir address because it was erroneously listed as deliverable/verified. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Due to privacy concerns, Loan Science only sends debt validation letters via hard copy. Loan Science relies on federal statute 18 USC **** to ensure the mailings are only opened by the intended recipient. This regulation states that letters are to be delivered to and opened by the intended recipient and third parties are prohibited from opening letters for another party. Loan Science takes privacy regulations very seriously and Loan Sciences operations are designed to protect all private borrower information. Although a Loan Science agent erroneously marked Maple Cir as Ms. ******** address, the federal code serves as an extra layer of protection to ensure unintended third party disclosure does not occur.
The debt validation letter sent to ****************** did not demand full payment of her student loan. The letter followed the CFPBs model validation notice and the itemization dates/items comply with the CFPBs outlined requirements. The full balance of the loan is listed on the letter to inform ****************** of the loans current status. This is confirmed with the attachment submitted by ***************** (see IMG-4619-2 in her complaint).
In response to Ms. ******** request for a correction of credit reporting, Loan Science cannot comply with this request due to the fact that Loan Science does not report to credit bureaus. Any issue with Ms. ******** credit report will need to be handled by the loan servicer or the original lender.
Additionally,****************** has been removed from any contact lists at Loan Science. No further contact will occur.Initial Complaint

**************' private student loans originated with ************************** and Loan Science has acted as an administrator for the trust that holds the student loans. Loan Science is not currently collecting debt on **************' loans.
Loan Science has completed a thorough history search for numbers associated with **************' account and have found no evidence that ************** has tried to contact Loan Science. The last phone communication Loan Science had (prior to this BBB complaint) with ************** was an attempted outbound call on 1/30/2019.
Loan Science contacted **************' loan servicer, ******************, and confirmed that ************** has been speaking to ********* regarding her loans.
