Title: Misled into a contract and refused cancellation Complaint:I signed up at Anytime Fitness OKC 3, located at ***************************************, with the intention of using the gym for only 2 months, paying month-to-month. I communicated with the owner (****** ******) using a translator app, since I dont speak or understand English. I clearly said I only wanted to pay monthly and cancel after because I planned to move out of ******** no point was I told this was a 12-month contract. I only gave my information thinking it was for account creation. I never received a physical contract, no receipts, no paperwork, and no clear explanation. I feel I was taken advantage of due to the language barrier.I only attended the gym twice once when I signed up, and the second time to speak in person about canceling before the next charge. He told me, "you can keep paying and use another Anytime Fitness," but I do not want to continue paying for something I dont use.Ive requested cancellation through messages, phone calls, and in person, but have been ignored. If canceling is this hard while Im still in the same state, imagine how impossible it will be once I move. I refuse to keep paying for a service Im not using and that I clearly asked to cancel.I demand the cancellation of said membership that I never requested and that they remove all charges, to my account, and notify me that it has been completely deleted, I trusted that he was only giving me an account for two months and it turned out to be one year.

I have several questions about my gym membership account. After 3 emails and leaving 2 voice mail messages for someone to please contact me, I still have received zero response. I have read other posts online of customers having a similar issue with not being able to get in touch with anyone. I am about ready to cancel my membership because of this ongoing issue.

Anytime fitness membership cancelled on April 4 2025 at the ***** location in person. Gave 30 day notice and completed two year contract (April 2025) on May 4, 2025. Paid in full until May 4, 2025. Anytime fitness tried to collect again May 9, 2025, at which time I contacted manager. She confirmed I had cancelled, and stated should not be charged any longer. Since then I have received many calls and emails, now being threatened with collections. No one will answer the phone and voicemail is full. Went by the gym, no one there to talk to, to confirm cancellation.

On April 23, 2025 I contracted with Bandon Fitness dba Anytime Fitness for 6 months of coaching twice a week for 30 minutes. The contract stated the cost at $50 per session with a $49 enrollment fee. The money would come from my checking account at $200 every two weeks beginning on April 23, 2025.I received 5 sessions and then nothing because I was told they were getting a coach for me. Meanwhile, beginning April 23rd money was taken from my account. When I contacted the company in May I was told that they would freeze my account not taking any more money out but on June 4th another $200 was taken from my account. This is a total of $849. I've called and emailed multiple times. At first I received one phone call and several emails promising corrective action and then nothing. As a senior citizen, I am frustrated with this and hope that, if nothing else, the gym is shown to be a sham and a problem in our community.

I've been trying to cancel my membership for the past two months. I finally got in contact with the manager and canceled my membership on 06/19/2025 and I'm still being billed. I'm unable to get in contact with a representative via phone or email to resolve this issue.

I am filing this complaint regarding a recent issue with a gym membership I enrolled my son, ****** *****, in through an online sign-up process.****** expressed interest in joining the gym, so I completed the enrollment on his behalf via the facilitys website. At no point during the online sign-up process was it clearly disclosed that I was agreeing to a one-year contract. If such a commitment existed, it was not made transparent or obvious during the registration. After realizing that the gym membership would not be used, I contacted the facility to request cancellation. I was informed that I could not cancel because I had agreed to a one-year contract. However, I was never made aware of this term at the time of sign-up, and I was not provided with a copy of any contract to review before or after enrollment.****** has never visited the facility nor used the membership in any way. I did not ask for a refundonly that the membership be canceled. My request was met with a firm refusal, and the staff showed no interest in resolving the matter or offering any form of assistance. This lack of transparency in the sign-up process, failure to provide a contract, and unwillingness to work toward a resolution is unacceptable. I believe this practice is misleading and unfair to consumers, and I am seeking assistance from the Better Business Bureau in addressing this issue.

I have been trying to cancel my gym membership for 2 months when I went into the location to cancel in person there was no current manager to cancel my membership so I explained I moved and lived 2 hours away and would not be able to come back in person and the worker took my info and no one reached back out. A week later I called customer service and she told me that the regional manager would contact me and gave me the store managers email. I proceeded to email the store manager and she told me to email their billing and gave me the incorrect email and never responded and gave me the correct email address. I had to then call customer service yet again and she was able to give me the correct email for billing and told me that it would be some days before they probably would get back to me. At this point I am frustrated and now have been billed for the month of July when I have been trying to cancel since before I was even billed for June and no one has been able to cancel my month to month gym membership as I am no longer in my year contract that ended in February of this year.

I am writing to express my significant concern regarding my current Anytime Fitness membership. I recently attempted to cancel my membership, as I was under the impression I had signed a month-to-month contract, consistent with my past 10 years of on-and-off membership with Anytime Fitness. However, the owner declined my cancellation request, stating that I am bound by an 18-month contract and I have 9 months left of the contract. This came as a complete shock, as an 18-month term was never discussed or explained to me during the sign-up process. While I acknowledge the 18-month term is present in the fine print of the contract only after attempting to cancel, the individual who signed me up did not bring this to my attention.I feel that I was misled and deceived, and I am very disappointed by how my concerns have been dismissed. Furthermore, I am now receiving text messages and emails indicating that my account is past due, with additional late charges being applied since I stopped payments.Given my history of consistently opting for short-term memberships to diversify my fitness routine, I would appreciate a review of my situation and a resolution that addresses the lack of transparency in the contract explanation and the unethical practices. I have always been a returning member to Anytime Fitness, I should not be treated this way.

This business refuses to terminate a contract after its expiration and is sending harassing phone calls texts and emails. They have been asked time after time to cease and will not.
