            I visited the dental office on June 9th, 2022. I am a new patient and I told them I wanted to do a general cleaning (preventative care is 100% covered by my dental insurance - delta dental). However, after the cleaning and examination, they provided a fluoride treatment to me without telling me this is not covered by insurance. They also told me I don't have cavity so I don't know if this treatment is necessary. During my visit they also tried to persuade me to do deep cleaning but I refused to. After charging my insurance, they sent me itemized items that are not covered by my insurance: fluoride treatment ($35), preventative procedure per covid($8), and a 100ml bottle of chlorhexidine ($20). They gave me this mouthwash along with some toothpaste at the end of the visit and did not tell me I need to pay for that. I had communications with them after I received the statement but they did not explicitly explain to me. I think this is malpractice to have this procedure not transparent and it's also misleading for patients.
