1 starTesla Solar purchased Solar City a few years ago. Unfortunately, the customer service has deteriorated. You can only reach support by the app. They will not give you a phone number. I was able to reach a manage once, who called me. I have attempted to reach him again and he will not return my call. I'm leasing solar panels. I need to replace my roof and they need to remove the panels so I can do so. They told me it would take three to eight weeks to get a permit. It's been nearly ten weeks and nothing has happened. I even have to pay them to remove and reinstall their panels because I need to replace my roof. I can only reach them by app and chat. I keep getting disconnected and having to start over. They keep telling me via chat that the permit has not been approved, but no other information. I asked to speak with a manager, but that was three days ago. They told me I could pay a third party contractor to remove the panels but they needed to know how to do that etc and i would be responsible if the panels were damaged. They would not give me a list of contractors that could do the work. I asked how much it would cost to get out of my contract and they just informed me that I cannot get out of my contract. That's it, nothing else. I am being held hostage by this company. My roofer is ready to do the work, I have damage to my house because of leaks and no one will call me or give me any information whatsoever.Review fromCharlie R

1 starTesla has miserably fail to take accountability on their vehicle warranty even after showing them that poor material quality has caused seat crackling.Tesla has now resorted to charging to inspect possible warranty issues by imposing service check cost to demotivate consumers to excessive their right to the offered warranty. This was my first and last Tesla purchase and I will recommend other naive consumer to avoid the same frustrations I am going through by sticking to **** accountable brands like ********, **** and ****** who kept their commitment to ensure their backing of their products.Review fromRamandeep J

1 starI received the car with four scratches and missing paint on the bottom of the drivers side door. The delivery team convinced me to accept the delivery, assuring me that they would handle the issue. I accepted the delivery, and seconds later, a service request was created. However, on July 3, I dropped off the car, only to receive it back on July 18 with the same scratches that were already there. It seemed like the body shop had attempted to buff off the scratches using either dirty pads or incorrect grit pads and made it worse. I immediately contacted the delivery manager and showed him the scratches. He took the car to his area, and his detail guy managed to buff off some of the scratches, but he accidentally damaged my bumper with his rotary polisher. I thought that it was only compound or polish that could be washed off, but the scratches remained. I was extremely frustrated with Tesla; it felt like the management had simply abandoned the company.Ill be reaching out to Teslas higher management so that no one else has to go through this.I wont be filing another service request because there was no communication between the delivery team, service team, and body shop. If someone paid for a new car, they should receive it in perfect condition without any damage or issues.Review fromJohn J

1 starTesla Insurance looks inviting with low premiums but there are 2 important things to know...1. Your monthly premium is variable, dependent on a safety score determined by their system monitoring your driving. I received "collision warnings" that lowered my score - for pedestrians on the sidewalk, for parked cars to the right of my driving path, and twice when I pulled into my driveway and it detected my partner's car parked in the garage. (In other words, there is often no danger of a collision even though the system thinks there is.) I tried emailing them about these false charges and received a form email saying "Safety scores will not be disputed."The latest update of the safety score software includes "late night driving" - if you drive between 11pm and 4am your safety score immediately goes down and your premium goes up. Ridiculous!2. God forbid you actually file a claim. I was leaving a parking garage when a woman tried to cut in front of me on the exit ramp. She misjudged and hit me, dislodging the left side of my front bumper. She apologized profusely to me and the two passengers I had in my car. I filed a claim and months later heard from Tesla - "she's saying you're the one who hit her. Progressive won't pay it...but the photos you submitted make it clear that she hit you, so we're sending it to third-party arbitration." 15 months later, after repeated calls and emails to Tesla for a followup, they finally contacted me: "The arbitrator says there isn't enough evidence. You will not be reimbursed by Progressive." So...a reckless driver and a useless insurance company cost me $500 in deductibles.Tesla is a decent car but their insurance is a joke.Review fromCM L

1 starTesla energy dropped something off our roof in August of 2024 when repairing our solar panels. It broke our glass table, left roofing tar on seveal patio cushions and left gllass shards all over our deck. We were assured they would cover replacement. Howeve, after months of. demans that we send reciepts, pictures, the video of them damaging our property- they low balled us offfering less than replacement value. Finally they offfered a reasonable repalcement value, told us in MAY 2025 they would send a check within 21 business days, and low and behold it is now mid july and ...NO CHECK! No return phone calls, no response to emails. These peope have zero respct for their custmers and no integrity- shocker. I will be filing a complaint against them with the state attorney's general. I will never buy another thing from them and when the contract is up- they can come get their solar panels.Review fromAlbert S

1 starBought a home in ********* with a leased system that was already installed ten years ago. Duration of the lease is for another 10 years. (20 year lease). The cost of electricity produced by the ** system is about 30% more than it would cost me to buy it from the ** Energy company. I must buy all the electricity from Tesla that the panels produce at this higher rate. A negative benefit. Also had to fix my leaking roof due to the panels when they were installed ten years ago. Called Tesla and they wont reduce the rate to even match the ** Energy company. All they will do is offer to sell me the system. This is the worst deal anyone can ever make. Essentially have panels on my roof that only benefits Tesla Energy. I get to pay 30% more for my electricity plus I paid $2000 to have my roof fixed. Unbelievable!!!!!!Review fromCazzie B

1 starI was sold into a new lease of a 26 Tesla M Y when I had a 22 Model Y, lease ending on 9/21/25. I was told that when I make my June payment that the last 2 payments would be waved and my order would go in and the new vehicle would be available for pickup on 7/21/25. I made the payment and was told that the new vehicle was in and needed to be picked up within 3 days or I would lose my deposit. With that I would need to turn in my 2022 Tesla Model Y, which would not even be 30 days of use which was paid for. And now I would need to arrange an inspection of the 2022 vehicle. I felt rushed and then I needed to perform the inspection virtually because no inspectors were available. I was then sent a bill for replacement of wheels and removal of window tint, $3,586.00 for 4 replacement wheels, $564.00 for removal of window tint. To remove the window tint I would be able to for $100.00 - $150.00. I wasn't given the opportunity to correct "so-called" issues because I was not given the breakdown of repairs because I did not receive the invoice of the charges until after my appointment to return the vehicle had taken place and was told that was final, when I submitted the photos or the vehicle afterwards with the wheel covers removed, and I still could not reach a "Live Person" to go over the issues and give me an opportunity to correct at a more reasonable cost, and that I would not have gone past my lease expiration date. I just received a message stating that I owed $1,340.09 with no invoice of what those charges are and that I am unable to have them corrected, myself. Aside from being rushed into taking delivery weeks prior to stated date, turning my perfect 22 Tesla M Y almost 3 months before lease, not being able to insure the current new vehicle, due to not being able to speak to a live person and being on hold for over 2 hours multiple times, not being able to speak to anyone live to change out the 22 to the 26 vehicle, this has been a nightmare that is going nowhere.Review fromJosue N

1 starI am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I received at your Duluth Tesla *************** Unfortunately, this experience has been one of the most disappointing interactions Ive ever had with any service department, WORSE THAN MY **************** let alone Tesla, a brand known for innovation and customer experience. When I arrived at the service center, I noticed that multiple service technicians were idle, sitting around and not actively calling the next customers. Despite having a scheduled appointment, I was made to wait unnecessarily with no communication or updates. It felt as if customer time and experience were not a priority at all. I made it very clear to the service representative that I had to be at work and was on a tight schedule, yet this was completely ************** make matters worse, I was not given any guidance or information about what was required to receive my loaner vehicle. No one explained what documents I needed or what the process would be, causing even more delays and confusion. This lack of professionalism and care has made me question the commitment Tesla has toward its customers after the purchase is made. I truly believe this experience reflects poorly on the brand and is not what Tesla owners expector deserve.Review fromJames N

1 starWant to know what a nightmare is like? Buy a Tesla and then try to service it. That's all you need to know. The main goal is to SELL, and what happens next doesn't matter to anyone. Whether the client is satisfied with the product and service, whether he will come back for a new car, that doesn't matter to anyone. If you want a real experience with real car manufacturers, buy a car from a proven brand with a reputation. If you want to play the lottery, buy a car from startups like Tesla.
