Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. We understand your frustration and truly apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delay.

Our records indicate that the remaining work on your room is currently on hold due to non-payment from your insurance carrier, ****. At this time, the insurance company has not issued payment for the outstanding invoice related to the services already rendered.

We have made multiple attempts to follow up on the claim and strongly recommend that you contact **** directly to expedite the process. Once we receive confirmation of payment or direction from the insurance provider, we are fully prepared to resume and complete your project promptly.

Your furniture and personal belongings remain safely stored and secure. At any time you are more than welcome to request the return of your contents. We value your business and are committed to resolving this matter efficiently.

I'm sure they'll leave a canned response regarding how ethical they are but I wouldn't expect an admission of wrong doing. This company was referred by a local plumber and I will be contacting them about compromising their ***utation. The sales *** wasn't entirely honest about the pack out process even when you read the fine print (in times of distress), every day people unfamiliar with mitigation may not be well versed in the language. This is where the deception begins. The demolition team does not communicate with one another. Talk about each other and will leave one person to do a job that requires a team which ultimately extends the project. One frustrated employee was direct in telling me "this ain't even my job!" when other members failed to show. Very unprofessional. You do what you can as a ***resentative and speak with a supervisor when its done about roles and responsibilities. American Water Damage ***orted I had asbestos. When my insurance asked for the ***ort, suddenly I didn't have asbestos but only after my home was gutted. The collections team called about payments that should've been directed to my insurance. My insurance was furious when they learned of this as they are aware of the process on who to contact. They collected payments they were not supposed to and continued to demand more money when an agreement had already been made. They make legal threats over small amounts knowing full well court costs would exceed what they're threatening you over. It's mind blowing that they have deceitful business practices and blatantly threaten you. How does a company falsify issues and turn around and demand money (rhetorical question). I ***orted with a complaint with my insurance regarding the inaccuracies, the double dipping and threats. I have no interest in a ***ly and there's no need for a resolution. Each employee who participates or overlooks these deceptive business practices will have to atone for their actions at some point.

"1/5 stars - Avoid American Water Damage at all costs! In 2023, they were hired to fix a pipe rust issue in our main bathroom. Since then, it's been a never-ending nightmare. Repeatedly missed appointments, shoddy work that had to be redone multiple times, and now they've had someone else assigned to finish the job. That person hasn't shown up since March 11, 2025, and we're told they quit. Mr. ******* ******* keeps promising the job will get done, but when? We're still waiting. Terrible service, lack of accountability, and no end in sight. Not recommended."

We have been in ongoing communication with the homeowner regarding the matter. On April 14, 2025, our team member ******* spoke directly with Ms. **** to inform her that we are actively working to schedule the next available contractor to complete the requested repairs to the bathroom.
This will be our third effort to address the homeowners concerns and ensure her satisfaction, as we have previously completed the bathroom repairs on two separate occasions. While this has been a challenging situation, we remain committed to resolving the issue professionally and in good faith.

**** **** really deserves 10 stars. When your house is flooded, in walks this delightful smiling face saying: I am here to help you and make this as easy as possible. And he and his crew did just that! **** was on top of everything, daily checking walls and floors. He also talked with our insurance company from day one and kept them in the loop. A pleasure and very easy to work with. Highly recommend.

Bad business! My insurance company had to pay them over $6,000 for a small demolition and water mitigation. Overpriced for the work that was done in my small bathroom and the small hole in the garage. My husband was even asked by the worker who came out to our home if my husband would help him get the tub out of the bathroom since he was by himself and needed some help. Ridiculous! I paid for a rebuild to be done in the amount of $5,500.00. The company never sent anyone out and I had to constantly call one of the employees who no longer works there and another one of the employees (who currently still works there, but she needs to be gone too) to try to get someone out to my home. After no one kept their word in calling me back, I went with another company, ServPro. When I told American Water Damage this, it took months before the sorry Account Receivables Manager would refund me my money back. ******* had already completed my rebuild while I was still trying to get my refund back from American Water Damage. My insurance company and I had sent them everything they needed, and even one of their own employees was wondering why my money wasn't returned to me yet. When I asked the Account Receivables Manager for her boss information or the CEO email or phone information, she refused to provide it to me, stating that she is the highest level that my complaint can go to. I informed her that she is not the highest level if she is not the owner of the company. When I called the main line, none of the receptionists would give me anyone else's phone number either. They kept sending me back to the same person, the Account Receivables Manager, who my complaint was about. Therefore, BE WARNED! I do not recommend using this company at all. They definitely need some new employees who are competent in scheduling, keeping their word, and of resolving issues in a timely manner.

Estimated ****************************** to be provided will be invoiced utilizing Xactimate, an industry standard software billing program. All scheduled costs published by ********* are considered normal and customary pricing guidelines within the restoration and insurance industry. Once all services are complete an itemized service invoice utilizing Xactimate will be generated. It is important to note that our company, ***, does not engage in overbilling and adheres to industry-standard billing practices utilizing software known as Xactimate. Should you have concerns regarding the pricing, I encourage you to contact Xactimate directly to request information on the methodology behind their standard pricing calculations. It is worth emphasizing that you may argue the fact that another company may have offered a lower price, the homeowner exercised their choice in selecting AWD, a provider that follows industry norms for pricing. Just as homeowners have the freedom to choose their insurance provider, airline carrier, or grocery store based on their preferences, the homeowner in this case opted for ***'s services, which are priced fairly and reasonably according to Xactimate industry standards.

This company does extreme pricing. Pack things out all items was not returned. Then they want receipt's. Some stuff you own do you keep every receipt? My entire house got packed out for three months I lived in hotels They find a loop hole to cover them. Now I have to file a police report. Be aware of AWD read the reviews.... Make sure your Insurance adjuster is on site before any work is started with this company.

Please reference the contract signed by the homeowner, AWD invoices everything through the insurance billing program Xactimate, which adheres to fair and reasonable pricing standards based on industry norms for this specific homeowner's circumstances, including their date of loss and ZIP code.

*** AWD Contract Language *** (I like to include a copy of the signed contract as well)

Furthermore, the insurance provider has delegated the review of the invoice to a third-party company known as ********. It is important to mention that ******** does not hold a BBB accreditation and has received predominantly negative reviews, averaging at 1.06 stars. Despite this, we have decided to cooperate with their recommendations in order to expedite the resolution of this claim for the benefit of our valued homeowner, yourself.

Regarding the issue of missing items from your contents pack-out, I have discussed the matter with *******. You have reported a pair of $1200.00 sunglasses and a phone/answering machine as missing.

It is standard procedure to provide a receipt to substantiate any claims of missing items.

We at American Water Damage are committed to ethical practices and do not engage in seeking loopholes or unethical behavior.

In the event of a theft claim, it is standard protocol for insurance companies to request a police report to proceed with the investigation. American Water Damage along with other reputable companies would request the same.

Theft is a serious matter that we approach with integrity. While I am not implying that you have fabricated any claims, it is important to remember that one person's actions can impact trust for everyone involved.

I would like to caution readers against the suggestion to have an insurance adjuster present before work commences with our company. Most insurance policies require immediate action to be taken in the event of a claim, failure of which could result in denial of the claim. It is advisable to review your insurance policy for specific guidelines.

I wouldn't do business with American Water Damage (DFW) again. After a lot of rain, I had water in my home's crawl space. First off, they set up an appointment to come out and estimate. They texted me saying they were "on the way". After they were more than an hour and a half late, I called and was told they were still more than 2 hours away. I had to go back to work, but agreed to 9-10a the following day. 10 am rolled around, still no technician. I called, they were still 1.5 hours away. I was willing to meet them at ANY time, I just wanted an accurate time instead of waiting forever. They estimated $1500 to vacuum out water from the crawl space, saying it was going to take several hours. The supervising tech got a different crew out and they were finished in about two hours... then they simply left. I was expecting some sort of guidance on how to prevent rainwater from entering again. I was also expecting them to tell me if there was any water damage in the affected area. Nothing. I called and this time a scheduler called back saying a manager wanted visit to assess. I was going out of town, but she said she would call me this past Wednesday. When I didn't hear back (notice a pattern?) , I called again. This time she asked "are you going through insurance or paying out of pocket" (there IS a reason they ask this)... I was paying out of pocket -so far it doesn't meet my deductible. She informed me there would be a $300 deposit for them to come back out and estimate. At this point... I thought, "Forget it- haven't I paid these people enough just to get a estimate?" Between the first supervisor and the second crew, they couldn't bother to look and communicate at those times? "American Water Damage" didn't even bother to assess any water damage. Don't take my word for it: there's a reason they have 2.4 out of 5 customer review stars on ********************, yet they have an A+ from the BBB, how that's possible, I don't know.

We apologize for any inconvenience and miscommunication that *** have occurred during your recent experience with our company, AWD. While we strive to meet all appointments on time, as an emergency service provider, we do prioritize emergency calls that *** cause delays. We apologize for any scheduling errors that *** have occurred.

It is correct that the estimate provided for pumping out the water in your crawlspace was $1500, which was completed as agreed. We recommend contacting a foundation company for guidance on preventing rainwater from entering your crawlspace in the future, as it is not within our area of expertise.

If there were any additional water damage in the crawlspace, our specialists would have informed you. As for repairs, there is a distinction between water mitigation and repairs, with different teams specializing in each aspect. Our $300 fee covers the cost of assessing repairs, with the option to apply it to the balance if you choose to proceed with our repair services.

We understand your frustration and apologize for any lack of communication on our part. We appreciate your feedback and will work to improve our processes to better serve our customers in the future.
