We were fed a bunch of promises and we traded in our vehicle and she told us that they would work with us with the payment since we gave up our other car however they repoed it after getting ran though the ringer on what to do where to go.

This is a unjustified complaint. *******/******** account was a first payment default due from July 12 2025. Again, THE VERY FIRST PAYMENT WAS IN DEFAULT, they did not pay it. *******/******** were given until July 14th to pay and when they did not, the account was rightfully repossessed. Currently *******/******** have been informed the are eligible to redeem and must adhere to the terms of the contract moving forward. I am rejecting this response because:

as I stated I was told by two different people that it would be okay. And in regards to this being unjustified our sales person continued to text my phone after I told her I am at work. As well as she didnt listen to a word I said I told her I worked at a gym and gave her paystubs and for some reason she put I was a stay at home when I dont even have any kids. She most definitely miss handled it and lied to us about the payment. And she wouldnt let me call her after I got off work instead continued texting me which was unprofessional and very rude.

Please see my previous response. I will not continue to go back and forth with customer. As I said, customer, in fact, is a first payment default and was rightfully repossessed accordingly. Although I appreciate their business, we do not agree with their statements and will be moving forward if they do not redeem their vehicle.

I paid off my car March 21st 2025. They will not give me my title so 6 months I got a divorce and need to change the title into my new name & new address per the law within 30 days. By law they have 10 days to give me my title once it has been paid in full.

      Business Response

Good afternoon. We appreciate ****** ******** (Bluff?) business but we feel this complaint was not necessary and appears to be a simple case of miscommunication. ****** ******** last payment made was via card and there is a standard 10 day hold to process the title. The actual title has been at the location ****** ****** purchased it at since early April 2025. ****** ****** picked up and signed for the title on May 15, 2025. Again, we appreciate ****** ******** business and my apologies for the miscommunication. If I can be of further assistance, please contact me at your earliest convenience.

I am rejecting this response because:

I only got my title back because of this complaint. They try to hold it for 6 months.
I spoke to a lady on the phone and she yelled and cussed at me and told me to do and call whomever I thought I needed to then hung up on me.
If I wouldnt have got ahold of the BBB I would still be waiting on my title.
It was not a miscommunication, they are breaking the law holding peoples car titles for 6 months after they pay off their vehicle if they pay other than cash.

Again, please refer to my previous response. I understand ****** **** was upset, but I am not sure why she is making these slanderous statements over a simple miscommunication regarding processing her title. The miscommunication was internal, and passed along to ****** **** incorrectly and for that again, we apologize!!! In regards to her statements about a "lady" yelling I would need to have the employee's name to try and corroborate ****** ****** statement. Even then it would be hard for me to prove a "she said, she said" conversation since my employees deny being rude or unprofessional to ****** ****. ****** **** has received her title and it is insulting and slanderous for her to insinuate we held her title intentionally and that we hold customer's titles for 6 months: THAT IS COMPLETELY FALSE!! Discount Motors has over ******* satisfied customers since our inception and we have a excellent reputation in the *** community for customer service and that will continue to be our # 1 objective. Unfortunately, we are not perfect but we feel good, AGAIN, that we have resolved this issue with ****** **** 100%. Thank you.

They've had my car since Thursday and they still haven't got it fixed when the only thing that was wrong with it is the ignition switch went out and now it's almost Tuesday.

      Business Response

      Date: 03/20/2025

This complaint is completely unjustified! The vehicle was sold to ****** ******* AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTY. ****** ******* asked for repair assistance and again, under no obligation to do so, the location manager sent the unit to a outside repair shop for diagnosis/repairs. We have no control over how log it takes them to diagnose and/or repair. If ****** ******* is not happy with the timeframe, she is welcome to pick up the car and take it to a repair shop of her own choosing and at her own expense. It is very unfortunate that ****** ******* would misuse the BBB format to make a unwarranted complaint. Moving forward, Discount Motors will no longer assist ****** ******* with repair issues since she is not happy with the current process. if I can be of further assistance, please contact me at your earliest convenience.

Aaahhhh where to startI have been a customer for almost ten years now. I traded in my old car in Sept 2024 and I have been having problems with the new one ever since. A month after getting it I had to pay about $200 for mechanical repairs that were very obviously there prior to purchasing. About a month or so after that I paid about $1300 in MORE mechanical repairs. Then comes Saturday 1/11/25 I was out running around stopped to get food before going home and when I get out to the car it wont start. Luckily, I have AAA, they come out and check it and say the battery is low and it could be the radiator. So now here I am out of pocket for repairs on a car I cant drive and a car note they are expecting me to pay. I call them and they say oh things happen this happens everyday its out of their control. They dont care they are professional until you have an issue with the vehicle. They took the car back and repaired it to get it running again but they are overall very unprofessional and rude. They do not stand by the vehicles they sale and they are just out to make money all while selling people lemons. ****** ****** lies and ******* the manager at discount motor 2 lies is unprofessional and he blames things on his team instead of taking responsibility. I returned my vehicle to ******* at discount motor 2 on February 8 2025. It was a voluntary surrender not because I cant pay the note but because I keep having to repair it and at the same time deal with these unprofessional people. I have just received a letter from ****** ****** stating my vehicle was repossessed which is completely false. I have had to deal with these unprofessional people for far too long and I give them their car back and they LIE as if they came and picked it up.

      Business Response

      Date: 03/04/2025

Well, to begin with, we appreciate ******** ****** business but this is very disappointing that a long term customer would make a unjustified, false, and slanderous complaint. As she stated, ******** **** has done business with us for a long time and she knows we sell all of our vehicles AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTY. ******** **** also knows we help our customers when they are unable to make payments (******** **** was delinquent on every payment by the way) or if they have repair issues, even though we are not obligated to do so. ******** **** did put 8000 miles on the vehicle in a little over 5 months. ******** **** is embellishing the repair issues and she certainly understands you have to do normal repairs and maintenance on a pre-owned vehicle especially if you are driving it at a more than average rate. I would like to reiterate again, these were normal repair maintenance issues. Even though we had no contractual obligation to do so, as a matter of goodwill, Discount Motors repaired the vehicle at no cost to ******** **** while also again, working her through her delinquent payments. It is unfortunate that ******** **** has unreasonable expectations that a used vehicle will stay in "new condition". As opposed to making her payments on time and taking care of the vehicle properly, she returned it while she was delinquent, making it a voluntary repossession. Subsequently, Discount Motors has the right to report her account as a voluntary repossession or return. Discount Motors did nothing wrong and even though we could have reported her as a voluntary repossession/return to the *************'s, we decided well before this complaint that we would not do that because of our long term relationship with ******** ****. Again, even though this complaint is unjustified, false, and slanderous we wish ******** **** nothing but the best in her endeavors. If I can be of further assistance, please contact me at your convenience.

I bought a vehicle from here in 1/2024. Day after, the check engine light came on. They picked it up, "fixed it" & had it back within 2 wks. A couple wks go by, & the light is back on. Once again, it's picked up, & "fixed". This goes on to happen a 3rd time within 3 months. We never stopped paying. Then 12/2024, the car completely shuts down. Discount agrees to pick it up & try to get a new engine under ******* recall. This goes on to take 2 MONTHS. The entire time, Discount gives not 1 update on the vehicle. I continuously had to reach out to ******* for any info. This being the 4th time the car has broken down, we told Discount that payment wouldn't be made until we saw the car was fixed & that if it was not, we would be taking the situation to small claims court. We were never told this was not acceptable. We were never told a repo even MAY come of this. 1/27 I made numerous calls & texts to Discount Motors in attempt to pay for the vehicle after ******* told me it'd be ready that wk. I did not get a response. 1/30 I got confirmation that the vehicle was ready (FROM *******) so I called again to get a total amount due. I said I'd pay when I got off work & was told this was ok (per **** the manager & an associate). When I got off & called, the car was now being repoed (2 hr time span) or I have 24 hours to pay the entire car balance. This being told to me by the same person who told me to make the account current & pick it up by 7. I call again providing screenshots of my attempts to pay prior & was told "that is not our phone #" although I had been contacted about my acct previously from the same #. I provided screenshots of me calling the collections # number and was told "that's our lunch time". **** told me a repo letter was sent 1/22 ("against policy to provide proof of this") but I spoke with someone 1/21 and a repo was not mentioned. I offered to pay triple the balance but nothing got through. Ultimately, they wanted this ********** brand new engine.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/03/2025

Good afternoon, my apologies for the delayed response. First of all, we do appreciate ***** ********* business but the complaint she made is unnecessary and filled with false statements. Discount Motors sold the vehicle to ***** Jamayo ***** and ***** ******* AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTY and we are not contractually obligated to assist with ANY repair issues. However, because we are a very fair company with customer service being our #1 priority, we initially did some "goodwill" repairs early in the account for ***** ******* at no cost to her. Fast forward several months and over ****** miles later, the vehicle, a *******, developed motor issues due to excessive mileage and lack of maintenance by ***** *******.  Again, under no obligation to do so plus this being a manufacturer issue not a Discount Motors issue, we still helped ***** ******* and had the ******* sent to ********** ******* to see if they would warranty the motor. Keep in mind that ***** ******* was consistently delinquent on her payments up to this point and most other dealerships would have walked away from giving any assistance to her. In the middle of December 2024 the vehicle was sent to ********** ******* and at the end of the first week in January 2025, ******* approved the motor repair under warranty. ***** ******* stopped making payments on December 14, 2024 even though she was repeatedly informed by Discount Motors employees that she must make her payments per the signed contract, which again has nothing to do with the manufacturer's engine issues. Discount Motors left several messages and spoke to ***** ******* consistently, and when she did respond, she refused to pay and became very hostile towards our ****************** At this point, ***** ********* account was 4 payments behind for $888.20 and she consistently refused to pay so Discount Motors processed it as a repossession. Once we had possession of the vehicle, initially Discount Motors had discussions to allow ***** ******* to pay the past due and pick up the vehicle. However, she called Discount Motors on January 30, 2025 and January 31, 2025 and was very hostile, threatened our collection department and also made a comment to one of our collector's that she "hopes she dies". Discount Motors came very close to notifying the ** police department about these threats & harassment but decided to hopefully just move on. Based on the severe delinquency and all of the above plus the fact we felt our collateral was at risk, Discount Motors decided to call the note due and ***** ******* would have to pay it off in full to redeem. Discount Motors went above and beyond and owes ***** ******* nothing and she should feel fortunate we did not notify the authorities in regards to her harassment and threats made towards us. if I can be of further assistance, pleased do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience.

      Complaint: 22885272

I am rejecting this response because:
I provided screenshots of times I attempted to pay BEFORE the 31st. Jamayo ***** was initially told we could pay off our past dues and he was also the one who was then told that we could not. Discount Motors changed their minds before even speaking with me. We were both told on numerous occasions that as long as we brought the account to current when it was done, we could have possession. When I requested that they go back and listen to these calls, i was told their calls are not recorded. The motor went out because there was a recall on it- not due to any maintenance errors. This place is full of lies and shady people.
      Regards,

      ***** *******

      Business Response

Again, Discount Motors went above and beyond for ***** ******* yet she continues to make false and slanderous statements. The screens shot images prove nothing. We have documented consistently our efforts to get ***** ******* to pay on her account BEFORE the unit was repossessed! Again, ***** ******* was 4 payments behind over the course of two months and was consistently delinquent over the entire time she purchased from us. Based on her pay history, severe delinquency, verbal threats and refusal to pay for almost 2 months, Discount Motors has the right to repossess the vehicle and demand full payoff, which we did. Again, based on our previous response, we felt our collateral was at severe risk and Discount Motors will not participate in any "he said, she said" rhetoric moving forward. Discount Motors wishes nothing but the best for ***** ******* and we will continue to do quality business in the DFW area, just like we have for more than 35 years and over ******* satisfied customers.

I purchased a vehicle from this company and have many times in the last few years and paid it off in Sept 2024. A month after I got the vehicle it broke down and they agreed to pay for the repairs and add on to my contract I signed an addendum agreeing to pay $20 extra each payment bi weekly. The repairs were not paid in Sept 2024 when I paid off my truck ad got the title. I received no calls from 9/20 when they called me to advise my title was ready until November 1 and they called me on 11/4 at which time I was working. I clocked out to call back within 10 minutes and they had called my ex-mother-in-law to verify my address. I did ask why she would call my ex-mother in law to verify my address on repairs and she would not answer. She called me and told me she was not telling them nothing because she was under the impression my car was paid off. I apologized and called them 7 times per my call log they picked up and hung up each time. I then received a text advising me to callback before 7 as I was trying to call. I finally spoke to Jasmine, and I advise I am aware of the debt, and it will be paid also advised her to remove my ex-mother-in-law from there calls. Jasmine refused and stated they will call her. I advised her no they will not and she was hateful and told me that my payments need to be 300 I advised no per the addendum its 20 but I will pay more. I text back requested them to no longer contact me or anyone on my contract and the debt will be paid. i emailed them and sent a letter to cease and desist. I have then sine received 4 more calls and ****** advised e he didn't know what a Cease and desist was. I spoke with Jasmine again on the 6th at which time I advised I have lost my job and will do my best and she stated I need to be paying 150 bi weekly I advised I signed nothing saying that and again she refused to remove my references ex mother law and refused to honor a Cease and desist and stated will continue to call when they want.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/16/2024

Although we appreciate ****** ****** business, this complaint is not warranted and unjustified. ****** ****** car did have a repair issue 3 months after purchase and several thousand miles later. As ****** **** is well aware of because she has purchased vehicles from us previously, all vehicles are sold AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTY. Instead, as a measure of goodwill, we had the vehicle repaired, added the charges to her account and had her pay small bi-weekly payments ($20.00) back to us at 0% interest and zero % profit for Discount Motors. Once her regular loan was paid for on 09/16/2024, ****** ****** repair balance of $1114.03  was still remaining. As stated earlier, ****** **** has done business with us before so she KNEW that once the regular loan balance reaches zero, the repair payments of $20.00 change to the normal regular payments of $299.18. As opposed to keeping that verbal agreement and understanding, ****** **** refused to start making the regular payments and stated she did not sign anything that said the payments would go from $20.00 to $299.18. Although this is true, this was very disappointing because again, ****** **** knew the payments would go from $20.00 to $299.18 because if it did not, it would take ****** **** "28 more months" to pay off the remaining repair balance of $1114.03!! Because of a new employee, the vehicle title was inadvertently mailed to ****** **** even though she still owed Discount Motors the repair balance of $1114.03. It is very disappointing that ****** ****, a previous customer of **********************, instead of contacting Discount Motors to inform us that we inadvertently sent her the title, she did not contact us and stopped making any payments on the vehicle!!!!!! ****** **** did not make any payments on the vehicle for 2 1/2 months so Discount Motors contacted her several times to start paying the full $299.18 or the $20.00, but ****** **** refused and also refused to return the vehicle title. Subsequently, Discount Motors was forced to retain another title form the **** rendering the title that ****** **** has in her possession as VOID! ****** **** did receive several messages/requests to pay and return the title but she never did and ultimately informed us to stop contacting her, which we have completely stopped contacting ****** ****. Finally, on 12/10/2024, after not making a payment since 09/16/2024, ****** **** finally made a payment! Moving forward, Discount Motors will not contact ****** **** but she will need to make consistent biweekly payments until the balance reaches zero or Discount Motors will be forced to take alternative action. In summary, again this is a unjustified complaint and very disappointing because if ****** **** would have been ethical and returned the title that was inadvertently sent to her and made her payments on time, the account would have been paid off several months ago. If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me . Thank you.

I had work done a couple times on the car by Discount Motors mechanics, evetime i took the car in they said it was nothing, with they transmission they said its just they way fords ****** last month i ask them to go half on the transmission, they owner said they couldn't do it because my balance was to low on the ****** i took it too another mechanic to later find out the transmission was bad, so i replace the transmission for 2000 dollars. So i went to trade the car in because the car has an electric problem and the a/c went out which i had that done last year. So when i went to trade the car in they told me that the car has a loan on it for ***** dollars which i can't trade it in because know one will take it for a trade-in.But i only owe ***** on the car. So i'm stuck with the lemon they sold **** feel something should be done about this because they're taking people hard earn money at Discount Motors.

      Business Response

Good afternoon. Initially we did not respond to BBB because we have been trying to contact customer to determine what the issue is because his complaint makes zero sense. First and foremost, we appreciate ****** ****************** business but are disappointed in this unwarranted complaint. Discount Motors has assisted ****** ******** consistently throughout the term when he was unable to make his payments on time. Late in the term, when he said he had repair issues, we informed ****** ******** it did not make sense to put a transmission in the unit with the mileage he has put on the unit since he purchased it from us over two years ago. The Location Manager and the *** both reached out to ****** ******** and reiterated the balance "was and is" below $1500.00 and would be happy to offer him a special deal if he wanted to trade out of the unit, which he refused. Moving forward, the offer still stands if ****** ******** would like to trade out of the vehicle, we will make sure he is offered an exceptional deal. Discount Motors did not sell ****** ******** a lemon but did in fact sell him a quality vehicle, AS IS WITH NO WARRANTY that he has driven extensively while not maintaining the unit properly. Despite his actions, again, we still assisted ****** ******** with his delinquent payments and offered to give him above average value for his trade-in plus discount any unit he was interested in purchasing which he refused. We have treated ****** ******** extremely fair and it's a shame he would make this unjustified complaint. We will continue to serve the *** community and treat them fairly just like we have done with our over ******* satisfied customers. If I can be of further assistance, pleased do not hesitate to contact me at your earliest convenience.

Good afternoon. At point of sale, it was explained to ************ verbally and on separate signed documents he signed that we sell our vehicles AS-IS with no Warranty. It is true, ************ had some repair issues on the unit and even though we were not obligated to do so, we assisted customer with repairs to an OUTSIDE repair shop and added the repair to his account at no profit to Discount Motors and zero percent to finance the repair. Customer then drove unit for a few days/weeks and another DIFFERENT repair issue came up and again, even though we are not obligated to, we assisted in the same manner. Customer again drove unit for days/weeks and complained of more different small repairs that are considered normal maintenance but refused to drop the car off for us to diagnose and also refused to pay on his delinquent account. The *** became involved and ************ finally paid on his delinquent account. At this point, we feel ************ expects his vehicle to ride and drive like it is brand new. Based off of this, Discount Motors will no longer assist with any repairs for ************ but again, even though we are not obligated to do so, we will write off the repairs already added to his account at the end of the term and ************ is not responsible for those said repairs. Our *** has reached out to ************ several times to reconfirm this fact with him but he has yet to call Discount Motors back. Moving forward, we appreciate **************** business but we will not assist him with repairs and we will seek legal counsel if he continues to threaten us. If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me at your earliest convenience.

Again please refer to my previous response but Mr. **** is not being factual, to say the least. Our AGM tried to contact Mr. **** several times on the September 11th and 12th without success. AFTER I responded to Mr. ****** previous complaint on September 13th, our AGM called Mr. **** again in the evening and was able to communicate with him. Again, our AGM reiterated to Mr. **** that the current repairs on his account would be written off at the end of the note and if he wanted to drop off his vehicle with the outside repair shop that did the actual work, if it is tin fact the same repair issue, they will take care of it. Mr. **** refused AGAIN, and also indicated he would seek other action. Our AGM also stressed we would not do any additional repair work moving forward and reminded Mr. **** he had a payment due on September 14th, Mr. ****** response was to abruptly end the call. Mr. **** did not make his scheduled payment on September 14th and Discount Motors tried to contact him on the morning of September 16th but Mr. **** did not answer and did not return our calls. Subsequently because of Mr. ****** delinquency and stated refusal to pay and his threatening comments toward Discount Motors, it was determined our collateral was at risk and Mr. ****** vehicle was repossessed. Based on all of the factual information stated above, we have explained to Mr. **** his only option to redeem is to pay off the unit in full. Finally, we have hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers who appreciate that we help with repairs even though we are not obligated to do so and we sell our units AS-IS with NO WARRANTY. Unfortunately, Mr. ****** combative attitude, unwillingness to maintain his own vehicle, refusal to pay and expectations a used vehicle should be in brand new condition, perpetuated the end result. Again, if Mr. **** continues to harass Discount Motors and make slanderous statements, we will be forced to seek legal council. Thank you.

I purchased a truck and it has been in the shop more than I have driven it. I put my car as collateral but when I voice my problems the dealership said no matter what happens they will keep my cars title. The truck keeps breaking down and they will not do anything except charge me for repairs. I had even had a pick up after a repair just to have problems on the drive home. The lack of a vehicle has cost me an amount i cannot afford and the broken ac/non functioning windows have cause a lot of heat exhaustion

Good afternoon. We appreciate *********************** business with Discount Motors. I have delayed responding thus far because we have been trying to communicate with ******************* in an effort to resolve the account. I also left a voice message for ******************* earlier today. I do think this complaint is unwarranted but if ******************* will not respond, there is nothing I can do to try and resolve the issues customer feels is prevalent. The facts are customers purchased the unit AS-IS without any Warranty. Discount Motors assisted with a motor repair at customer's request and we are currently financing the motor repair at dealer cost, 0% interest. If there are issues with the added existing motor repair, it is under warranty and customer will not be charged to have those issues resolved. If there are additional non related motor repairs the customer is having, I would be happy to try and resolve those even though again, we are under no obligation to do so. When ******************* purchased the Ram truck in question, customer was made aware and agreed to both accounts being tied together in regards to contractual responsibility. Having said that, if ******************* will contact Discount Motors, I would be happy to try and resolve this in a amicable manner. Again, we appreciate *********************** business but we feel the complaint is unjustified.

      Business Response

As I indicated to ******************* and the "brother" that joined our phone conversation, I am under ZERO obligation to change the terms of the signed documents in regards to the repairs and/or the cross collateralization of the accounts. I felt our phone conversation was good and when they said they needed time to think about my offer, I did specifically tell them I am in and out of my office frequently and our conversation was documented in the notes and they could reach out to my collection manager ****** or ******** if I was unavailable. As of today, the offer still stands, I will write off the repair balance on the Ram, and I will release the title on the ******** when the balance on the Ram account reaches $3000.00. Again, I am under no obligation to do this and am only doing it out of exceptional goodwill to the customer(s). ******************* can contact my office or again, they can contact our ************* if I am unavailable and speak to ****** or ******** further. The initial complaint and this follow up complaint to the BBB is unwarranted and Discount Motors will continue to treat all customers more than fair, just like we have done with almost ******* satisfied customers in the DFW area. Thank you.
