Date of transaction: Tue 6/30/23 Amount paid: $313.65 Nature of dispute: Illegal tow Details: On 6/30/23 I dined at ******* at ***************************************************************************. After my meal, I put the receipt on my dashboard in clear view to show I was a patron. I was picked up and dropped back off later that afternoon, only to discover my car had been towed. The restaurant manager advised they did not call the tow service. The police were not involved. The tow company took it upon themselves to tow my vehicle without my permission. When I called them and advised I was a patron, they showed no regard and demanded payment to return my car to me. I paid and followed up with the tow service manager. She advised it sounded like an illegal tow, but refused a refund of any kind and suggested I take them to court to recover damages. I emailed the company but they're ignoring me. I would like the company to refund the fees charged and an apology. Note: While there is a tow sign on the property, it's facing away from the building and parking area (back towards restaurant), where you can't see it. I have photos as proof. There are no other signs or warnings at the ******* restaurant to indicate you might be towed. I feel this is subversive as they're trying to take advantage of the situation.
