Most horrible quality ever known. Caulking doesn't last through the 1 yr warranty and they don't cover caulking under their warranty. Found Corona bottles in the house and attic during and after the build. They have zero shame in stealing people's hard earned money, Run away from this Builder!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNEDD.R. Where do I start?! I closed 12/3/24 on my home and have had several problems. I had door handles that were coming off, the garage door was off track, spots needed touch up paint and other minor things. These things were corrected but they shouldve been addressed before I moved in. The problem ** having now is with my PRIVACY FENCE. I paid x amount of dollars to have my fence installed only to be told that it went over the property line. I am putting my fence back up and I will seek LEGAL COUNSEL if need be. Mind you, the *** were the ones who told me I didnt go back far enough on the property. We adjusted the dimensions now months later the fence had to be taken down. The builder advised me that if I go from stake to stake on my neighbors property then that would be my property line and that HE WOULD send another surveyor out to resurvey. Ok great! Then he came back and advised that I need to get a surveyor to come out and survey the land myself. So they took down my fence and now I have to pay to put it back up and pay for a surveyor. I HATE I BOUGHT THIS HOME. This was my lil peace of the American Dream and honestly DR ********************** just made it a nightmare. Also the *** isnt any better. They dont want you to have company at your home. If cars are parked on the streets they have something to say. They shouldve made extra parking in the community for visitors. This experience has been horrible. I will tell anyone NEVER TO PURCHASE A DR HOME. I understand why they are being sued for everything. As soon as I find a home I will be selling.D.R. Bought my home in November 2023 and have had nothing but issues with the Superintendant and the Warranty Team. First, we had an inspection scheduled before closing and upon arrival, the home was not completed for the inspection to take place. The mechanical and electrical was not yet complete and we had to reschedule a week later for inspection. Not only did my wife and I have to take time off work, but we were also charged a $50 fee. After inspection and the report was handed off, we came up with a plan with the superintendent to fix the remaining items on the punch list prior to moving in. They fixed 1 item of the 14 in 7 days and kept apologizing for dropping the ball. Then we made another plan to get our punch list completed. It is about to be **** and we have made little progress on our punch list. We have asked the super multiple times but have not been provided a response. Then we submitted to the warranty team. The woman showed up, seemd to document almost nothing, then left and said they would start working on this. It's now been almost 3 months and there has been no follow up or communication. I have sent multiple emails but haven't received a single response.My wife and I are expecting our first child around the end of our warranty period and need to address the concerns immediately. This has been extremely unprofessional and frustrating for the amount of money we paid to get this house and all the mistakes DR ********************** made. As someone who works in construction project management, lawyers would be involved by now if someone failed to fix mistakes this long and didn't communicate.D.R. Horton America's Builder Response

Bought a home from them. First serious thunderstorm we had massive water intrusion around every window, and the floor. About 1 year after a purchase of the brand new home. They denied any responsibility and I ended up spending thousands trying to fix it and on mold remediation. My ex-wife and her son dealt with serious health consequences due to the mold. DR ********************** honestly could not have cared less. For my experience once you've purchased the home, you are in the rear view mirror and they never want to hear from you again. I own another home that wasn't built by them, but by a responsible builder. I have had zero issues. Meanwhile I have spent tens of thousands repairing the brand new home from DR **********************.D.R. Horton America's Builder Response

I bought a property with DR ********************** in 2016.They required me to give $5,000 as a deposit. Then I went on a trip to ***** and came back to learn that they had sold my house to someone else. The reason is that my loan has not been approved. They promised before that if the loan is not approved, they will refund the deposit of ??5000. Until now, they have not returned it. I'd like to ask BBB to help me return the deposit.D.R. D. R. Horton installs 3 tab shingles, which can blow off the roof at 60 miles an hour or less. These shingles become damaged with pea sized hail. I paid $174,000 for my house in 2015. If I could have paid $174, 500, then they could have put on 30 year shingles guaranteed by the roofing company, which has a 50 year manufactures guarantee. ****** new homes are being built. Truck will be taking the old - 8 year shingles to the dump. They will spew fumes from their diesel engines while they wait and then harm the low quality asphalt roads laid on clay.Right now home owners will pay about $2,500 for their share of the repair plus $500 to upgrade to 30 year shingles, which can withstand 100mph winds and larger hailstones. The city dump will have to take in 1,000's of dumptruck shingle piles because of the mess created by ***************************** inconsiderate outlook on ***********. I estimate that if the City Counsel passes an ordinance demanding 30 year shingles - quickly, then 150 to 200 million dollars can be saved by the city and its citizens in the next 8 years. I will be putting on 30 year shingles because I need to be a responsible person. I doubt that at age 78 I will live to see the need for their replacement. My heart goes out the young families who have to waste thousands of dollars on D.R. Horton's idiocy. Such needless suffering. *******************************D.R. Horton America's Builder Response

I would not recommend buying a house from DR ********************** in *********. They hide things in small print and do not have any integrity in what they promise to you when moving in. When we did our walkthrough, we spoke to them about the yard and how horrible it was. The ** then asked to give it some time to see if it would grow out, but he didn't and said DR ********************** would replace it. They kept pushing us off and now state they will not do anything. *****, the boss of ***** of The Dunes at **************, is rude and is a slimy salesperson. The worse experience i have ever heard of and i would recommend finding a company with high integrity before purchasing a home as this company isn't one.D.R. Horton America's Builder Response

0/10. I would never recommend this builder to anyone. Ive been in my home for 4 months and already I have had multiple issues. Many doors off track, doorknobs coming off, the toilets are cheap and one already has issues. The house doesnt come with cabinet knobs, there are no drawers in any of the restrooms, and it is very visible that the builder used the cheapest and easiest methods and materials possible to throw these houses together. I will be selling soon and will NEVER buy from dr ********************** again and I would suggest anyone looking not go with them either.D.R. Horton America's Builder Response

I purchased a townhome built by D R Horton in 2020. Both bedroom carpets were not installed correctly and are buckling. When I called the sales rep he said "sorry, it is after your one year warranty period." Maybe you should have installed the carpet correctly to begin with........it is not rocket science. I Closed on my Property on April 18th 2024, less than a month today The owners of D R Horton may not even be aware of what some customers like me are facing. - The fence in the Back yard is falling apart. - Very strong pungent smelly /contaminated water from all faucets in the house. At closing they promised taking care of it but did not. This is part of the reason i have not moved in yet because it is impossible to live without good water. i got someone to fixe it two days ago because i came here hoping the issues below will be resolved and could not do without water. Been here for few days and no one has showed up.- It was about 2 weeks after my closing that they realized that a whole section of my house was not insulated. This was only started on May 3rd. - Microwave is not working. Some sockets in the living room/kitchen area worked intermittently, some do not work at all. - The light in the Master bedroom toilet, back porch, laundry room, the small closet facing the game room is not coming on. - The control panel light for the home security system is not coming on. The door bell light is not coming on.- I am unable to open the garage door using the switch on the wall, neither can i open it using the key fob.- I had a chat with a building Superintendent called ***** and he said all these is as a result of a force of nature which is not covered by my warranty and that he can connect me to an electrician on the side, i can pay cash, under the table, to have the work done at my expense, and that he can provide only the Microwave which has not been provided till date.- Today i spoke with a Director of customer Warranty called ********************* who showed total disregard for my concerns. I told him i felt with my concerns where not valued as a customer and that i have no choice than to get representation and he rudely told me to go to Court if i like.- I HAVE MORE CONCERNS but the word count does not permit me. There is a pattern of misconduct
