I have an account with *******************************************. The account landed in collections with Southwest Recovery in June of 2023 because I could not pay the balance due to financial hardship. In March of 2024, I received an email from them regarding a settlement offer to clear the balance. The language in the email I received states the following: Your account was submitted to our office on 06-28-2023, and we have made several attempts to contact you, and it is still not resolved. Your account has been reported to the credit bureaus. We would like to make you a final offer to clear up this past due amount and update your credit report. You may be entitled to a reduction in the amount owe of $577.53. Do not wait to contact our office to see if you qualify.When I called them on 4/27/2024 to make strides to correct the matter and speak about the offer, they gave me lots of misinformation and acted as if this email was never sent to me by their company. They were also very unwilling to discuss the details after I did my due diligence in contacting their office, citing that this was not a customer service experience and that they did not have to explain anything to me or be courteous. Instead of giving me proper information, they became insulting and unprofessional. I want to draw attention to this as it is deceptive, misleading, and unbecoming of any company that conducts business with the public.
