  They told me it would be $79 to come to my m house to diagnose the problem with my air conditioner and what seemed to be leaking hot water tank. David H***** came out and tried to use his leak detector on the AC unit It kept beeping when it wasn't supposed to but he said there was no inside coil leak. We went to the outside unit. Again It beeped no matter where he pointed it, even just holding it up in the air. I left to go in the house briefly. When came back, he said he found a leak. I said let me see but he could not reproduce it. He called his dad and said he thougjt there was something wrong with his leak detector. After he got off the phone he still insisted that he detected a leak because the detector worked when I wasn't there.
  and we need a new outside unit.
  Onto the hot water tank which seemed to be leaking. Our hot water tank sits in a drip pan with gravel in it on a small but sturdy wooden table. The lesk pan had filled up and overflowed and flooded our utility room but not badly. He said we needed a new tank. I said where is the leak he said probably underneath. I said "is the pan Rusted out and leaking also?" He got down and looked underneath the wooden table and said "yes it is. hevsait a new tang eould be over $2600. I said I'd have to think about it.
  I called to pay the $79. The girl took my CC number and called me back later and said she actually charged me $279 saying "That's what David said to charge you". I called David and he said "I have to charge more because what's to keep you from going and hiring somebody else after I did all that work and diagnosed the problem?"
  Curious, I went downstairs and looked underneath the hot water tank to see where the "hole in the pan" was but because the pan is on a wooden table the pan isn't even visable!!
  It turns out the hot water tank never even had a leak. We had a violent rain storm immediately before the and rain had come in through the outside vent.
