had been doing business for 25 years with a **** ***** bank. Pinnacle bought them out and it almost put me out of business because they’re cutthroat and will not hesitate to take your property with no attempt at contact. They are crooked as they can be. I was just shocked I miss the local bank feel because they are the big Bank guys that’s all there is to it. “lowdown”

If you are a business owner, do NOT open a checking account with Pinnacle. I opened a business account 4 years ago in 2017. Never had an issue. In January, 2021 I deposited some cash into the account. They happily took the money and put it into my account. Teller asked me if I banked somewhere else and why I was depositing money. I told her yes, my main account was with another bank. She jokingly said I should put all of my money into Pinnacle. Deposited more cash into the account a few other times in early February. January, February, March, April, there wasn’t a problem. Last day of April I got a message from Susannah Hargett telling me to call her back. Called her back, she told me she was the new office manager or whatever she is, and that she was just calling all of the business owners to “get to know them”. Then she started asking me all these questions about where the money I deposited came from, what I do in my business, what I’m using MY money for, etc. She mentioned that they have had problems with money laundering. It was a weird phone call and completely unnecessary, which I told her during the call. A few days later she personally mailed out a letter signed by her notifying me that my account was going to be closed. When I went to the bank to discuss the matter, she told me that it was the “legal department” that decided to close my account, and that she didn’t know they were going to do that when she called me. So, she calls and asks a bunch of questions about my business (programming/online publishing BTW), then by complete coincidence with no input from her, the “legal department” just happens to close my account a few days later... Riiiight... I asked for the exact reason(s) the “legal department” gave her ordering to close my account. She said the notice they gave said to close my account. She just stood there nodding her head up and down and repeating that like a parrot. I still have no idea why my account was suddenly closed! Regardless of why she wanted my account to be closed, I would obviously advise you to NOT open a checking account with Pinnacle. I took the money from my closed account and went right up the street and opened another account with a larger bank. Luckily this wasn’t my main (or worse, only) account. I’ve had business accounts at numerous banks for nearly 20 years and have never had anything like this happen. Stay away from Pinnacle.
