I am filing a complaint against FlowShield Gutter Protection for gutter installation services that directly caused water damage to my home. On July 29, 2025, I signed a contract for new gutters at a cost of $3,039.00. Installation was completed on July 30, 2025, while I was at work. The very next day, July 31, 2025, my roof began leaking into both my kitchen and bathroomissues that had never occurred before.I immediately contacted the installation manager, Summer. On August 1, 2025, FlowShield sent an installer to inspect, but the inspection was inadequate. He only looked at the kitchen leak and briefly checked the roof and gutters from outside; he did not inspect the attic or the bathroom leak. During this visit, the installer told my brother that the leak was caused by storm damage. When I asked Summer for clarification, she declined to say what specifically caused the pipe to leak. Later, she sent a message stating FlowShield had confirmed the issue was not caused by their work and that they would not take further action.Because I had no prior issues with my roof, which is only two years old, I hired ************** for an independent inspection. Their report, signed by ****** *****, found no storm damage and confirmed the roof and shingles were in excellent condition. He concluded the leaks were not storm-related and provided a repair estimate of $3,730.00 to restore the kitchen and bathroom ceilings, seal and repaint, and replace the damaged metal pipe and *********** summary, I paid FlowShield $3,039.00 for gutter installation. Immediately afterward, my roof began leaking. FlowShields inspector blamed storm damage without fully inspecting, and Summer declined to provide a clear explanation. FlowShield denied responsibility. A licensed roofing contractor confirmed no storm damage and that the roof was in excellent condition before the gutters were installed. I now face $3,730.00 in repair costs directly resulting from FlowShields installation.

Please see the attached document. We agreed with this customer to have a neutral third party (Probe Home Inspections) evaluate the situation and assess whether or not our workmanship or product is to blame for the customer's issue. Probe Home Inspections determined that we were not at fault and that neither our product nor our workmanship caused the problems that this customer is currently experiencing. Thank you.

I am rejecting the businesss response because it does not address the core issue or accurately reflect the findings in the inspection report they provided.
FlowShield Gutter Protection stated in their message to me that:
Prove Home Inspections determined that our product and workmanship were not the cause of the damage to your home.
However, the actual inspection report from Probe Home Inspections, dated August 27, 2025, does not contain any statement confirming that FlowShields product or workmanship was not responsible for the damage. The report simply states that moisture staining was found on the kitchen and bathroom ceilings, and that staining around an abandoned exhaust vent indicated a prior leak at the exhaust vent flashing.
The inspector further noted that the vent flashing had been heavily sealed with roof cement, preventing him from identifying the precise defect. Therefore, the report does not rule out the possibility that FlowShields installers may have inadvertently disturbed or damaged the vent flashing during gutter installation, which occurred during the same time frame that the leak developed.
Because no inspection was conducted immediately before the leak and the inspector could not determine a definite cause, it is inaccurate for FlowShield to claim that their workmanship was proven unrelated. The damage occurred shortly after the installation, and the inspection results are inconclusive not exonerating.
For these reasons, I do not accept the businesss response and maintain that FlowShield should take accountability for the damage that arose in conjunction with their gutter installation.
    Sincerely,
    ****** *****

Respectfully, it is literally impossible for us as a business to prove a counterfactual statement. A neutral, 3rd party business determined that they could not see any evidence that our product or workmanship cause the existing damage to your home. FlowShield Gutter Protection completed the work that was agreed upon in our agreement form with this customer and there is no evidence to support that we damaged this customer's property in any way. The burden of proof does not fall on us in this situation.

The work happened on 12/09/2024 I paid the company $9,300 for gutters, downspouts, aluminum wrap, vinyl siding and some freezeboard at the tops of windows. While they did the gutters and downspouts they did not do the vinyl siding on the roof of my porch and the trim of that porch in aluminum. Also, some of the trim on my larger porch that they did the vinyl siding, they wrapped the side in freeze board and not aluminum. And the back of the house they did not replace the soffit.I did financing and was charged $69 by the financing company to "activate" the account when I was told the financing was free. Technically the account was activated by FlowShield Gutter Protection when they did the initial ******* home is in ******* and I don't think they are licensed in AL and I fully intend to take them to court over this issue.

Ms. ***** entered into a contractual agreement with FlowShield Gutter Protection on December 7th. On December 9th the work was performed. Ms. ***** was not satisfied with the work initially and spoke with a representative from our company. This occurred around the holidays, so timing has obviously been an issue, but we assured Ms. ***** that we would get an installer out to her home to rectify any problems she may have. All of the work that was agreed upon and signed for in the contract has been completed. We have made an effort to alleviate any concerns Ms. ***** might have about her project. This morning (1/18), we spoke with Ms. ****** I asked her simply what we could do to fix her problems. We offered to send another installer out to her house to fix any problems she can point out. The only thing Ms. ***** wants is a payout of $5000. Ms. ***** provided no justification or reasoning for this seemingly arbitrary monetary demand. She told us that if she is not paid this $5000, then she will pursue legal action. The fact that she will not allow us to fix any alleged deficiencies in our work leads me to feel like Ms. ***** is attempting to extort us. We carry a workmanship guarantee of 1 year and we have tried to honor that guarantee, but Ms. ***** said she will not allow anyone from FlowShield onto her property to assess the work and simply wants money from us. We stand by the quality of our work 100% of the time and we want nothing more than an opportunity to fix anything that may be an issue.

I am rejecting this response because:

The above is a copy of the email that I sent to Flowshield and I didnt hear back until I filed a complaint about them. They made a huge mess when they came and did the original work and Im close to having all that mess cleaned up. Also, they are not registered in *******. I will let my lawyer deal with them. Yes, I did say I would settle for $5,000 and they declined so no I am not dropping my complaint.

    Sincerely,

    ******* *****

In my previous response the word registered should read licensed.

Flowshield Gutter Protection is not licensed in AL so I do not want to allow them to do more work on my home and they also ignored my requests until I filed a complaint.

Why would I use the BBB when they are not holding the company liable for doing work in AL when they are not licensed in AL?

I feel like you all are bought out by these companies and are not helpful to report the truth to the public.

Hired Flow Shield Gutter protection to install new gutters on my home July 24th 2024. Their installation involves a warranty. The next day after installation, I noticed they forgot to install a small piece of downspout. Called the company back to fix the downspout and I have not been able to get them to come back to fix it, even though the install came with a warranty. I have called two different sales numbers and have been promised someone will come back to fix. Each time they say someone will come tomorrow. Tried calling their **************** number three time over three days and left a voice mail with no answer to the call or return call from the voice mail. They did not complete the install as promised and they are not upholding the warranty that was promised.
