On Monday, March 13, we received four text messages starting at 1:03 pm letting us know that our rental was available for check-in. This was great because it was several hours before anticipated. Still, we arrived at approximately the anticipated check-in time of 4 pm. So, imagine our surprise to see the garage door open, a vehicle parked in the driveway and someone inside the home. We soon realized it was maintenance. No problem there, just would have been nice to have been notified that maintenance would be there upon our arrival. The concerning part of this is that the maintenance individual had the same security code to enter as we did. Upon contacting Stay Minty we discovered that the security code to the property had not been updated and was only updated periodically. As you can imagine, this is a huge safety concern. We immediately requested that a new security code be issued (this request was never fulfilled and appeared to have falling on deaf ears as if it was an unacceptable request). The house did have a Ring alarm system with instructions on how to set the alarm posted. However, the code was not provided until we inquired about it. Even more concerning, the alarm either was not installed properly or was not working correctly. We would set the alarm to AWAY and were able to open/close several doors and garage door without setting off the alarm. Same issue would occur when we set the alarm to STAY doors could be opened and closed without setting off the alarm.We spent several days of our vacation attempting to resolve these issues through Stay Minty, to no avail. **** was very helpful over text and phone. She replied each time stating that she would inform *************** Relations Manager. After 3 days we finally received a message from **** stating that she was attempting to contact both my husband and I and no one was answering. Neither of ** had missed calls or voicemails from her, yet we continued to receive calls from our family, friends, even work calls. I asked her to confirm the numbers she was dialing and asked for a direct number for her and never received a message back. She did offer to call ** one afternoon in between our activities, but not only did not call when she said she would, she never called at all. We did receive a text from **** asking for my husband's email address but also never received an email from **** or Stay Minty. This was made all the worse because on Thursday, March 16, while my son and husband were at the property, someone attempted to come into the home. We immediately called ********* PD and informed Stay Minty via text. We did file an incident report and spoke to the responding officer. I am appalled that no one from Stay Minty called to check on the situation as soon as they were notified. Needless to say, we all spent our last night sleepless and afraid that whoever attempted to come in would return. We were in a property with who knows how many people had the same security code to enter and with an alarm system that did not work. The incident report and details were provided to Stay Minty along with a request from ********* PD for the Ring footage.
