I am not liable for this debt with account resolution team. I do not have a contract with account resolution team, they did not provide me with the original contract as I requested.

I only became aware of this inaccurate debt after reviewing my credit report following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Our client, University Health Systems, placed this account in our office for collections 6/2/21. A statement was mailed to **** ******* ******** ******* ** ***** ******. We have tried to contact the consumer via phone at ************ numerous times. ***** ******* submitted a credit dispute 9/8/21 which was responded to. Other than that, we have never had any communication with the consumer, so I do not see where they requested any further information. I will request an itemized bill today and mail it to the consumer. All of our clients have contracts that are signed at the time of services stating the account can be placed in collections and report to credit if not paid. I would suggest the consumer contact our office to resolve this issue.

Mr. ****** has been notified numerous time he owes a debt that out client, University Health Systems, turned over for collections.

He was mailed a validation letter 9/8/22 to **** ****** ***** ********** ** ****** That letter was not returned to our office.

We first spoke with Mr. ****** July 6, 2023. Per my notes Mr. ****** did not agree to pay to pay the past due balance. He stated he has never been to University Health Systems and hung up on our representative.

We spoke again to Mr. ****** July 17, 2023. He stated he was in school and would call our office back.

Mr. ****** disputed the derogatory mark on his credit March 27, 2024. I responded to his dispute.

May 16, 2024 he stated all accounts should have been resolved by his attorney and was going to call our office back with proof.

June 19, 2024 we advised the balance was still outstanding and he stated UT told him everything was paid.

July 12, 2024 Mr. ****** emailed a breakdown of payments from his attorney.

I contact our client and they advised the balance was not paid.

Mr. ****** received the itemized bill from our client that showed amount owed $0. I emailed our client again and they stated that bill did not show the office portion, and he still owed the balance.

Attached are the emails from our client stating this is owed and the itemized Mr. ****** provided. My agent and I tried to explain to Mr. ****** if you do the math on the itemized it comes out to the amount we have in collections, $890.14.

The itemized clearly states "Total charges $26,883.13, Insurance payments $8,087.86, Insurance adjustments $17,905.13

      Total charges $26,883.13

Minus Insurance payments and adjustments total $25,992.99 ($8,087.86+$17,905.13)

      Equals $890.14

Newport Housing Authority turned a balance of $238.13 to our office for collection in June 2021. We do not buy debt. Our clients have signed contacts with the debtors that if balances are not paid they can be turned over to collections and could report to their credit.

Ms. **** had an agreement with Newport Housing Authority to pay any outstanding balance and if the balance was not paid it would be turned to collections.

This is not a valid dispute and Ms. **** owes the balance.

Ms. ***** has a medical bill in our office that is reporting to her credit report. We have sent out written correspondence on several different occasions to the address *** ****** ******** ** *********** * ** ******

This is an ER physician bill where she was seen at Morristown Hamblen Hospital back on 4/22/2019. Emergency coverage Corp is the billing for the ER physicians. Ms. ***** signed a financial agreement while she was at the hospital stating she is responsible for any balance after insurance or self pay discounts and if this amount is not paid it can be turned over to a collection agency (which is our office) and could report to her credit.  This account meets all guidelines to report to Ms. ******* credit report. In order to resolve the balance she can contact our office at 423-581-6472.

Ms. ***** has made no attempt to contacting us before this complaint was filed.

A validation letter was mailed to ** ******** ****** ******** ** ***** on 8/31/23 and was not returned back to our office as an invalid address.

Per FDCPA is the letter is not returned we have to assume the person received it and after 30 days on the account being in our office we can report it to credit.

We have also made several phone calls to ************ but have never spoken with anyone.

I have emailed our client, Panola Medical Center, to request the documents ***** ******* is requesting.

Once received we will email them to her.

I have attached a screenshot showing when the first letter was mailed & records of our calls.

Our client does have a signed contract stating that if the balance was not resolved with the original creditor than it can risk being turned over to a collection agency and may report to credit and or other fees added.

We cannot report anything to your credit unless we have basis to do so and in this situation we do.

I do show a validation letter was mailed to the address on file and not returned. Also phone calls have been made.

I have requested an itemized bill and other documents from our client and will mail it once received.

If you have a different address I do need to know where to mail that to but please contact our office at 423-581-6472 to provide that.

If you need more clarity please contact the original creditor.

I am not liable for the erroneous charges filed as Healthstar Physicians and Fort Sanders Medical by Account Resolution Team Morristown Tn. I never signed a contract with them to pull my credit and destroy it thereof. They never provided an itemized receipt of what I was being charged for upon request. I was charged for services that never occurred and then called three times a day or more and harrased out of my disability money with threats of legal action. Account Resolution Team Represents: Healthstar Physicians, and Fort Sanders both in the East Tennessee area who claim erroneous charges. To further confirm the company has harrased me daily and never returned my request for an itemized bill. After searching for it online however it contained many inaccuracies. In summary this company never had a contract with me to obtain my personal information and was quick to share it around their office.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/21/2023

      Hello,

Account Resolution Team has been speaking with *** **** since September 2022. He was also in touch with our client, Healthstar Physicians in September 2022 and was advised why he had a remaining balance after insurance.  On October 5, 2022 *** **** set up monthly payments on his account. I have numerous emails from *** **** and never did he request an itemized statement. Each email was either regarding his payment being late or when the balance would be updated on his credit file after a payment was made. Per our records never was *** **** contacted more than once a day after his payment was late. On March 8, 2023 *** **** was supplied an account summary listing all debts in our office.  On May 30, 2023 was the last conversation with *** ****. *** **** has been made aware of all balances in our office and that they could be reported to credit if left unpaid. The last phone call made to *** **** was on June 28, 2023 and no contact was made. I, myself, have responded to every email received and again was never notified *** **** wanted an itemized statement. Attached are emails between myself and *** ****. I can also provide a call log showing Account Resolution Team never called *** **** 3x a day.

      Customer Answer

Hey I did see that they uploaded some call logs but it was totally not all inclusive, it did show them calling like twice a day every day every so often though from what I saw. Just wanted to clarify I saw their attachments after making my latest rejection. I don't think the very small portion of call logs is proving their point. Also I have so many more documents and proof etc. Thank you for understanding. By the way did you see my first documents uploaded about healthstar service dates being in May and June 2022 and Account Resolution Team saying medicare service limit was up before March 2023 and then the medicare screenshot saying I had atleast a year so wherever they are getting 7-18 months at idk

      Business Response

      Date: 08/22/2023

This is my 3rd and final response. If the BBB request any other information please contact us via email or phone at *************

Per FDCPA we sent the validation letters when we received each account and sent them to the correct address. Also, per FDCPA we do not have to provide verification of debt after 30 days of receiving the account. I am not sure why proof is needed since *** **** is very aware of the debt but as a courtesy, I am requesting it now. I also requested the documents *** **** signed stating he was responsible for any unpaid balances, and they could be turned over to a collection agency and report to his credit. We do not have the itemized statements on hand and have to request them from our clients. I have already received the information from Healthstar Physicians and am waiting on the documents from Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Attached is the signed financial policy *** **** signed at Healthstar Physicians.

We have called *** **** and that is not against the law. Also reporting an unpaid balance to the credit bureau is not against the law. *** **** has the right to dispute a debt but that does not make it go away or remove the balances from his credit report. Our company is here to find an agreement and resolve the debts.

Attached is the contact log from Healthstar Physicians where they tried to contact *** **** on numerous occasions. It was his responsibility to contact his insurance company and contact the client back. I attached again our contact log where we have called the number on file for *** ****.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 08/22/2023

If the balance was turned to collections in November 2022 why was I already receiving calls in September 2022 according to Account Resolution Team Call logs (Provided Above) And if these are all the calls why is there a 6 month hiatus in the call logs Account Resolution Team provided (See attachments) Also I never received a debt verification letter which I requested which is necessary by law. Please go over my uploaded documents paying close attention to every call, several within 10 minutes of the last and ample law documents considering disabled veterans a protected class of people legally. I would seriously hope that God whispers a breath of integrity into Account Resolution Team and they remove those horrendous derogatory accounts from my credit profile free of charge. Such is a shameful act keeping a 100% Permanent and Total service connected disabled veteran from qualifying for his own VA home loan and subjecting his family to possible homelessness. If Account Resolution Team is unwilling to out of shear goodwill and kindness remove those collections from my account, Can they please offer A fair "Pay To Close" amount on all 3 collections Accounts. I don't agree I should be liable for this debt but sincerely need it off my credit report. I'm all but begging for a patriotic discounted pay to close agreement that includes all 3 accounts. Please feel free to reach out at ************************** sorry we were not able to come to an agreement thus far. God bless all parties.

      Business Response

      All information has been submitted.

This is the fourth message we have received from the consumer.

The BBB is not intended for messaging back and forth.

Just to clarify to THE BBB only the call log included shows on the left side if the call was made manually or in the consumer made an inbound call to our office. That log was for the past 180 days.

Also we do not file insurance in our office. The attachment listed as "******* **** ** contact" are the notes from Healthstar Physicians not Account Resolution Team. Meaning our client, Healthstar Physicians contacted the consumer about his insurance, and it was his responsibility to contact Medicare and update his COB, coordination of benefits, so they would possibly play the claim.

Please if any further information is needed from the BBB contact our office. .

      Customer Answer

      Date: 08/23/2023

I'm all around dissatisfied with this. The BBB is indeed for dispute resolution which typically involves a back and forth debate with evidence. I had insisted the claims be removed from my credit profile, I have offered to negotiate a pay to close contract that indicates I don't consider myself liable for these charges but will consider a discounted price to close them off my credit report.  There's nothing more I can do, My disability wages are all I make and they are ungarnishable. Never once has Account Resolution Team responded to that fact. I ask what's the benefit of ruining my credit, if even after expensive legal action the debt remains uncollectable due to my only income being disability which is ungarnishable. So while this mediation did not resolve the issues at hand, I hope that both sides have atleast considered the others points and will work to satisfy both of their end goals. Very Respectfully. Feel free to contact me at the email address provided.

A validation letter was sent to the consumer on 01/20/22 notifying they had 30 days to dispute or request validity of the debt, at which expired on 02/20/22. No response was received by email, fax, phone, or mail during this 30 days stating a dispute was requested. Therefore collections went forward for this consumer.  Since 01/20/22 there have been multiple attempts to contact the consumer, all of which resulted in no call back, or the call disconnected on the consumers side. Although not required by law after the validation period, we have chose to mail a copy of the signed contract and itemization from our creditor to the consumer's address on file to assure the debt is owed. We are open Mon-Friday 8-5 voicemail being available and checked daily, online access, and automated phone payments are all excepted for convenience to the consumer to call at their will in order to resolve the debt or any questions they may have. Please call ************ as we would be happy to resolve this with the consumer once we are able to speak with them.

I have an account with them…first they would not provide proof of the charges…2nd when I found my sob I called to make payment they said the could not due to the amount ,, that they could not accept over the phone or online and that I would have to mail my payments in each month ,,they were very rude and broke hippa as well, and threatened to file suit since I was not going to pay them.. I called the original creditor and they was not sure why they would not accept payment, the original creditor told me to just make the payments to them , I have been paying the original creditor park west medical center, and the agency is not updating the balance or reporting it to the credit bureau, it is showing that I am behind as the balance has not been updated and it’s for 2 accounts that I have with park west..I have tried to settle this accounts and they will not due to our previous conversations that they are holding against me….I want the accounts pulled back from account resolution team because they are not updating and they said they would not accept payments by mail only…they are making false balances with the credit bureau….

This complain is due to the negative marks made by your company on my credit file. I would be willing to accept this debt if it were mine and upon Validation and Proof of Claim but it's not mine and there's no way that you can validate it. Also, you must provide me proof that they have my consent to report my medical information in accordance with HIPPA laws. So let it be known that I am requesting full validation of this debt. I demand that you take action to this matter because it is causing me a lot of stress lately. Please remove this negative account in my credit report. The value of my credit worthiness is at stake.

Credit reporting has been done on unpaid medical bills. You have been notified of these debts and and even set up a payment arrangement in 2019, but you never followed through with those payments.
I can send you itemization of each debt, so you can verify the information is correct. We will not remove from credit until proof that these debts do not belong to you.

BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.

When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
