I've golfed for 50 years and have never had a shaft break. During the last 3 weeks, I have had 2 true temper shafts break simply by hitting a golf ball. The first one was on a half swing so the club broke but didn't' separate. The second one was a full swing and the bottom half of the club helicoptered at least 50 feet. I am very fortunate that nobody got injured. Both clubs had the True Temper Elevate 95 *** shaft. I have two sets of clubs with these shafts and I am now deeply concerned that I can seriously injure someone on the course. I have no choice but to replace 16 shafts....to do otherwise would be immoral. The first time I thought it was just a coincidence, but having a 2nd shaft do the same thing caused me to do some research. True Temper used to have a sensicore insert in some shafts and there a quite a many incidents online where golfers had the shaft break near this insert. The consensus was the insert was trapping moisture and rusting the club from the inside. I'm pretty sure True Temper does not use a sensicore insert anymore. The replacement is the *** insert which is suppose to do the reduce vibration like the sensicore, but the insert seems to have less "sponge" with the ***. However, the *** appears to be rusting the inside of the shaft and I also believe True Temper has now discontinued manufacturering clubs with these inserts. Anything that ends up trapping water inside a club shaft instead of letting it evaporate or exit out of the grip end of the club is going to rust the club from the inside. The dollar amount is an estimate as to what it would cost to replace 16 shafts. I am willing to absorb the labor cost if True Temper will replace the shafts.

I wanted to add to more photos.  I decided to cut open the 2 clubs that broke.  I cut open where they broke and that is labeled the "rust end of club" and I also cut them open away from where the broke....more towards the end closer to the club head.  You can easily see that the area where the vss insert was located is ***** and the area where the was no insert is pretty clean.  I know there isn't a company around that is going to claim they have a potentially defective product, but I do believe companies do try to make their customers whole.  I can't in good conscious hit my clubs with their current shafts and just hope nobody gets seriously injured and for me to change out the shafts on all my clubs is not a cheap proposition.  As mentioned in my initial complaint, I have 2 sets of these clubs...one in **** and one in ********  I stated there were 16 clubs total, but in fact, I have 17 clubs.  Again, that's big expense to replace that many shafts....I'm looking for help.  I hope you can forward those photos to the company since they were not in the original complaint.  Thank you.

I keep researching to see if maybe the issue I'm having with club shafts snapping could be caused by something other than what I initially thought.  However, everything I'm reading a seeing seems to indicate that the shafts are rusting from the inside.  This will be my last update, but I think it adds to my concerns.  One of the photos is a stock photo I pulled off the internet that shows what a new vss insert looks like.  It's a gray, sponge like material wrapped around a small plastic tube.  Obviously I had never seen them in my own clubs until the snapped.  The second photos is one of the vss inserts in my clubs and are completely rust colored.  From my previous photos I uploaded where I cut open the shafts, the rust is only present inside the shaft where the insert is placed.  I'm providing this information because I want the company to know I am not trying to get something for nothing.  I don't abuse my clubs and I didn't strike anything but the ball when they snapped.  I am hoping they will work with me.

I have been trying to get the company to respond via email and voicemail due to seriously defective products. I have called numerous times and have emailed the company receipts and pictures but have not received any resolution. In short, we purchased 2 hockey sticks which both broke within the standard 30 day warranty. We were able to warranty out each of those two sticks for 2 new ones. The additional, warrantied sticks also broke. This all happened within 45 days. In many years of being involved with hockey, I have not see 4 of the exact same sticks break within such a short period of time. Clearly the sticks/product was defective, etc.

In mid-December, purchased custom SVH True Custom skates through True Sports listening to the technical presentation instead of going with another set of custom CCM FT4 skates again which have been fantastic and worked great the first time out of the box. These were chosen for the supposed tight rocklike feel and to increase speed. These skates are designed by a speedskater and we trusted the marketing even going with the non-skate specific higher blade holder (taller and greater pitch than anything else on market) trusting the complete design. So unlike speed skating, which there is definitely not as frequent lateral directional change, the problem with these skates was lateral shifting.A lot of excitement around these skates, purchased extra holders and blades as would keep for any brand, and got to practice with them for a week before a long tournament. By game two the rotational forces was causing a lateral foot shift. Likely this was a multi-variable effect due to the added height of the holders causing more energy transfer and flex on the boot requiring a tighter fit to adjust the boots there is not any movement. Unknown are what the variables are due to not have angled holders specific to each foot, but anecdotally after the issues were felt and it came down to what would be done to correct the issues. We reviewed footage and found one *** player using these holders and we couldn't find many CHL players using them.Because part of the purchase experience of these skates was not, we will experiment on you until we get it right, we got the second set ordered with holes for Tuuk holders from the factory. There was no discount and True did not provide the *** holders or rivets, and the player had to purchase an entire set for $105 at the True representative store (not installed) plus Uber trips back and forth. This is the point at which we just sopped the process, and go the route of obtaining a refund. Just an answering machine lousy customer service.
