To wit, Griffith towing is violating ***************** law by not obtaining the proper authority to have a car towed off private property. On May 24th, I was a victim of these alleged illegal business practices when my car was unlawfully towed from Strike Zone bowling alley at around 10 pm. Based on witness accounts, an employee of the bowling alley made the call to have certain cars towed. To wit, this person was not the owner of the property. Under MS state law, an employee of an establishment does not have the property authority to have a car towed, only the land owner. Since an employee was making the call to the towing company, not the property owner, a violation of state law occurred. This alleged illegal act cost me four hours of my time and $405. Based on witness accounts over 50 cars were towed that evening, which if true, would be over $20,000 of proceeds from an illegal activity. I am asking the BBB to conduct an investigation into their alleged illegal business practices.

    Business Response

    Date: 06/30/2023

The gentleman was correct in that there were several vehicles towed from the  Strike Zone Bowling Alley. We towed a total of 10 cars, There were other towing companies that towed several vehicles each as well.

As we are required to do  by law, we called and reported to the  the ********* ************ the information on every vehicle  we towed. I would assume that if what the gentleman cited in  that it was illegal for the Strike Zone to have

vehicles towed for illegally parking, the ********* ************ would have not allowed the removal of these vehicles. We are called to tow away vehicles on a regular basis and we always refer the owners to the originator that called us.

.I am sorry the gentleman is upset about getting his car towed, but I think his complaint should be directed to the owners of the Strike Zone.

    Respectfully,
