My 1993 ******** 190E 2.5, inherited from my father in 2021 formally, as declared through atty estate settling from his Oct '20 death, was taken for repairs w/a deposit to the former Gasoline Alley Garage owned by a ********************************. ******** ended up TAKING my car after closing his business under the radar and moving on due to financial problems and a tax lien on the business. My car has been *** since. I've been in a stressful battle to locate and retrieve my car from ********. On June 19th, I was told that the car had been taken to D's Wrecker Service on ***************** via the local news station that is covering my story. They SUDDENLY received this tip. Note I have had no communication on my car this year. D's has stated they have no vested interest in these events. But, I have to ask the question what type of business would arbitrarily tow a car from someone who calls and says it is abandoned-- with no proof? Ds is asking me to pay daily storage fees & associated costs to obtain a car that belongs to me. It is no fault of my own that it came to their possession. On my proof of ownership visit June 19 '24, I talked w/the owner. I was met w/perceived hostility June 18 by desk personnel. My car has been discovered to have bern at D's since January 8. The owner implies "I am angry". No, I am rightfully mad. He said I shouldn't be, because my classic car isn't worth much anyway, and I should forgive ******** for taking my car and doing this. Seriously? #placating While the owner of D's offered to negotiate a price in which I can get my missing / stolen vehicle back BEFORE he AUCTIONS it, I don't anticipate it will be something cheap. I shouldnt owe for ********** misdeeds. He already got my $1,500. It all FEELS like a ruse to me between D's and ********. I left feeling insulted, condescended to, and not taken seriously- despite saying so. I am appalled. The owner repeated he's in business, and he cannot release my car under this circumstance. Smh
