I am formally filing a complaint against ********************** and Company Roofing Contractors for unsatisfactory services performed at my residence at ************************************From the beginning, Mr. ***** ********************** assured us he would complete both the roofing and interior repairs caused by storm damage. We chose his company based on my daughters recommendation, believing him to be ethical and professional. Unfortunately, our experience was the ***********. ********************** demanded /$4,800 upfront, which we paid. During installation, he pressured us to pay an additional /$500 for extra deckingdespite the contract stating decking was included. He also attempted to charge unjustified late fees not listed in our agreement. The workmanship was substandard. Our aluminum siding was damaged during the job, which Mr. ********************** blamed on us. He "repaired" it with mismatched plastic siding, resulting in a poor appearance. The flashing was also poorly installed and did not reflect the quality shown on his website, which we believe displays work he did not perform.Shortly after completion, our chimney began leaking, damaging new sheetrock inside. Though Mr. ********************** originally agreed to handle interior repairs, he backed out after discovering asbestosdespite our insurer covering removal. This left us scrambling to find another contractor in the middle of winter. He also left behind dangerous debris, including nails, posing a risk to my elderly mother. To date, he has offered no resolution or compensation. We have further concerns about his use of undocumented labor and his lack of direct oversight. His company is not listed with the BBB, and his website features misleading imagery.Given these numerous issues, I respectfully request the ******************************** and Insurance investigate this matter. I am also seeking a refund of at least half the amount paid due to the poor quality of service and damages incurred.Sincerely,Ms. *****Business Response

To whom it may concern:
We would like to clarify that the individual filing this complaint is not our customer, ****** *****, but rather her daughter, ***. *** did not hire our company, was not involved in the contractual agreement, did not pay for the services rendered, and does not reside at the property in question. Her actions appear to be motivated by personal animosity toward our President and Founder, ****** Price, and we believe this complaint is politically motivated and malicious in nature.
The roofing project was completed in full compliance with the manufacturers guidelines and was approved as part of an insurance claim through ********, with whom we are a certified service provider. We work with over *********************** the ******* area. Upon completion, we submitted documentation and photographs to the assigned adjuster, Fraysel, who reviewed and approved the work. Based on her assessment, the final payment was released to the homeowner.
It is important to note that there were major delays in receiving the final payment, despite the adjuster's approval. We had to make multiple follow-ups and even consider legal action to obtain the balance owed. All necessary decking was replaced as required, and the customer was only charged for the boards that were actually replaced. Additionally, we provided several complimentary upgrades at no charge, including a chimney cricket and an upgrade from 3-tab to laminate shingles, despite the insurance only covering the former.
Despite the adjusters approval and issuance of final payment, we continued to face challenges collecting the balance due. Pams continued interferenceagain, as someone who is neither a party to the contract nor financially responsible for the jobhas made resolution unnecessarily difficult.
We have closed this file and will not communicate further with ***, as she is not the homeowner nor the client. The job has been marked complete and satisfactory by the issuing agency, ********. We remain in good standing with ******** and have successfully completed numerous projects since without incident.
Our company maintains a near-perfect customer satisfaction rating, has earned multiple awards for service and workmanship, and is proud of our longstanding reputation for quality and professionalism.
Given the above, we respectfully request that this complaint be dismissed and removed from any official records.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing in response to the dismissive and factually incorrect statement submitted by ********************** & Company Roofing, in which they falsely claim that I, ****** *****, was not the customer and that my daughter ****** ***** was solely behind the complaint. Let me be perfectly clear: I am the homeowner, the client, and the individual who paid for the services in question. Any statements made by my daughter have been with my full consent, as she has assisted me throughout this process due to my being a disabled elderly person. To suggest otherwise is not only misleadingit is deeply offensive.
I chose ********************** & Company Roofing based on Pamelas recommendation, believing that ****** **********************, who presented himself as a Christian and a member of **************************, would act with integrity. That trust has since been broken. Mr. ********************** originally represented himself as a licensed contractor, but later backtracked when questions were raised about his work. His misrepresentation and the resulting substandard workmanship caused undue financial and emotional hardship.
While my insurance only covered approximately $6,000, I took out a personal loan to pay the remaining balance. I was never late or delinquent with payment, and I expected professionalism and quality in return. Instead, I received damaged aluminum siding, mismatched materials, careless flashing work, and a roof that resulted in a leaking chimney and additional interior damage. All of this is well-documented. Despite claiming otherwise, Mr. ********************** refused to complete the interior repairs after learning of asbestos, even though my insurer had approved its removal. His abandonment of the project mid-process left me scrambling to find help during the winter, a time of extreme difficulty for a person in my condition.
The idea that my daughters involvement was politically motivated is not only absurdit is defamatory. This matter is not political. It is about my rights as a homeowner and consumer being violated by a company that failed to deliver on its promises. Whether Mr. ********************** is in good standing with ******** or completed other jobs is irrelevant to the fact that he failed me. In addition my fathers historical library which had been preserved in the attic was damaged by all the debris that his workers left inside the roof when they went to remove the knotty-pined wood paneling some of the books were from the 1800's. I am trying to upload pictures but it won't let me on the portal may I email them please?
Furthermore, the refusal to communicate with my daughter, who has acted on my behalf with my full authorization, is unacceptable. If Mr. ********************** is unwilling to address this matter amicably, I will be proceeding with legal action through our family attorney, Mr. ****** *****.
This complaint is legitimate. It is supported by receipts, photos, and evidence of both physical damage and negligence. I respectfully request that the ********************************************** continue to investigate this matter in full and keep the complaint on file. I am seeking a partial refund due to the poor workmanship, breach of agreement, and resulting damages that have not been resolved.
Sincerely,
****** K. ******-*****Business Response

All items in the insurance scope were completed in compliance with manufacture guidelines as well as free upgrades we did for the customer out of kindness. This was an insurance claim with ********, who we are a trusted partner/provider. Photos were reviewed by the adjuster and she approved final payment to customer based on completion. We will not be responding further to this customer or any ******************** related messaging on this particular case/complaint. Furthermore, the person submitting the complaint is the daughter of our customer, not the customer herself. Our contract is with Mrs. ****** *****, not ***.

On August 22 I paid Price and Co. In full to complete a roofing job. Since that time they have delayed every week and have made no effort to install the roof. On 11-27-23 they notified that the job would be started on in two weeks. I followed up before the two weeks and was told that they were in another city with no explanation of when my job would be done. I have contacted the company all most weekly and there is never a solid commitment to the work I paid for. As of Dec 12, 16 weeks later the work has not been started and there has been no commitment to the start day that has been kept. ***** has cited heat, rain, supply chain as reasons for the delays. Which would be acceptable for a few weeks but certainly not 16 weeks.Business Response

Hello,
We have been in contact with **************** several times and have explained the situation. During the July / August time frame, thousands of homes were hit by major storms in *******. Then, after the influx of storm damaged roofs, we had 3-4 weeks of excessive heat where we could not safely install roofing systems. We have advised this to the customer and advised that we are working diligently to get caught up. We have already ordered his material and have it in our warehouse.
We understand this can be frustrating, but we have also approved some free upgrades for the customer for his patience and understanding. We also are battling a shortage on roofing materials as confirmed from the screen shot we have provided from our supplier. We have advised the customer that we should be able to get the roof installed in the next couple of weeks and will alert him 48 hours or more prior to the expected install date.
We appreciate everyone's patience as we work to get families across ******* put back together again as some still have tarps and damaged roofs from the storms in August.

I am rejecting this response because: This response is for another customer by the name of "****************". My name is ***********************. I have called and texted both ***** and ***** Price at the company. I have requested an actual install date several times. On *****-23 I received an email saying my install would happen within 14 days and no one ever showed up or called to explain why. At different calls I was told what number I was in the order. Based on when I purchased and the orders I was in at time how has my number not moved up to #1? Even with the rain, heat or supply chain issues I would have to keep moving forward unless the company kept moving me back to do other jobs. The only indication I got after asking was the company was working in another city that day. I will include a copy of the email I received on *****- 2023. Please answer the direct question of why you have decided to complete the work for my house. You are doing other jobs so its not heat, rain, or supply chain. In fact you have never stop advertising for more work. If you are that far behind why would you keep accepting jobs you can't get to for multiple months?

****************,
Your install is coming up in the next 14 days - you will receive an email 2-3 days prior to the delivery of your shingles. Also, please ensure all items are removed from around the home that falling shingles may damage.
We look forward to completing your install; we appreciate your patience as we have been backed up from all the summer storms and then the excessive heat wave we had in September where we couldnt install any roofs due to safety concerns. Mr. Price has approved some free upgrades for you since you have been so patient.
Thank you very much,

+ Add to contactsThis is the copy of the email I received on 11-27-23- after waiting 16 weeks my job was supposed to at least start by December 11, 2023. The company did not start my job, did not update me on when the job was scheduled to start. The company has had 100% payment since August and has not completed any of the work.

****************,
Allow me to reply to this thread. We have several crews who different lines of work. Not all trades are backed up, however, roofing is due to unfortunate storm events we faced in August (affecting thousands of homes) and then the excessive heat wave we had in September where it was unsafe to install roofing systems. We are working diligently to get caught up at this time.
Several customers are taking advantage of our end of year sale and not wanting to start their projects until March or April or even next summer. I hope that answers your question. We will working very hard around Christmas and the new year (dodging weather when necessary as rains are common this time of year) to ensure your roof is installed the month of January. We are chipping down on our pending list. We thought we would have had it done by end of November or December, but we lost a crew to install roofing systems and are trying to hire new ones at this time to help us get fully staffed.
I have approved some free upgrades for your wait and your continued patience. I did have a cancellation that was scheduled to be installed within the next 14 days and I planned on moving you to that spot as you are in the top portion of our pending list. If we have an opening or cancellation before that, we will do our best to push you up. I will contact you directly when we are 7 days out from your install (which I have advised I would do so several times).
Thank You,

I am rejecting this response because: You continue to push our install back, in fact on December 12th you said the install will be on the 21st and now you are saying in January which is very vague and non committal. There has been no true commitment to an install date. While I appreciate the honesty about the staffing issue now, that does not solve my problem. My problem is I need the roof installed to protect the home. I shared with you that I absolutely didnt want this project going into winter in September when I first realized there was an issue on our end. At this point I need a full refund so I can hire some one to do the job as soon as possible. Your company continues to bump our install and it has never been communicated to me why until now, you all just dont show up and instead complete other jobs you have. If you review your email records you will find that you all have only emailed me once related to my project and it was mid Nov to tell me the install would be within 14 days around Nov. 27 and after two weeks there were no calls or emails and no one showed up. Then on 12th of December you said the preliminary install was on December 21. I know now because of this response that you all once again will not show up after 17 weeks of waiting on my end. The only solution I see since you cant commit to the job is a full refund. Your staffing issues are not justifiable reasons to continue to delay our roofing needs. A portion of our roof is in critical need and not a luxury project. This portion was put in as a insurance claim. Please refund the $6763.53 we paid so we can get our project complete before it causes more damage to our home.
Sincerely,
***********************Business Response

We understand the wait is longer than expected, but we are installing the roofs as quickly as possible. We thought we might have a cancellation or delay in November or December where we could squeeze you in, but we did not. Again, we had major storms that affected thousands of homes in the ******* area in July and August, then the entire month of September we had 3-4 weeks of unsafe, excessive heat. We have been working diligently these past 90 days to get caught up but also this time of year we are now dodging rain and cold weather (shingles aren't suppose to be installed below 50 degrees). We will keep you updated on your timeline by replying to the customer directly. Unfortunately, we do not have a refund process when it comes to acts of weather or uncontrollable circumstances. We have already ordered the material and they are in our safekeeping for install as soon as we can get to them.
Thank you!

I am rejecting this response because:I need to get the job done, this is beyond reasonable from a wait perspective. It is evident to me that there is no plan installed date. The only response I need at this point is a refund or a ************** date. The install date is controllable, between August and January there have been several days where there was no interruption from Mother Nature. Please do the right thing and schedule an install date or refund me so that I can hire someone to do the job.

We just updated you a week or so ago informing that we do have every intention on installing your roof and have already ordered and received your material. We cannot help that the delay is due to weather related / acts of god. This time of year is hit or miss as rains and cold weather limit our install days. We will keep you posted on your install date once we get a break in weather/temps. It is not recommended to install shingles when temps dip below 45 degrees as they will not seal correctly. You need several days of temps above 50. We will keep you updated.

I am rejecting this response because: on the good weather days which we have had since August there has been no attempt to provide the service I paid for. BBB is this standard practice with other roofing companies to not be able to complete a job in 6 months and blame weather from 1 or 2 weeks as the cause. The cause if this issue is something else and my money needs to be refunded so we can move on. In October I was scheduled to be installed in a few weeks and it has been months since then. BBB again I ask is this standard practice for a company highly rated by BBB?

The temperature needs to be above 50 for a few days for the shingles to adhere to the roof. The weather forecast shows temps between 50 and 70 the week after next. If the forecast is accurate, we hope to do the installation then.Customer Answer

We have had excellent weather for multiple days, however the company has not scheduled my roof install. I paid for this roof in August of 2023.
This company is using your a+ rating to attract jobs, and either not doing the work or selecting which work to do based on an unknown criteria.
This case shouldn't be closed without them refunded my funds since they will not schedule the install. Weather is not an acceptable excuse. They may have other issues that they are nor being transparent about which is fine, but either way the company is not able to do the job I paid for.

I am rejecting this response because:
A review of the weather records indicate there have been several recents days were roofing would have been ideal. Not cold, hot or raining. During the ideal times no effort was made to schedule our roofing job. I received a notice today only to let me know the work couldnt be done due to a rain forecast. The same forecast indicates ideal conditions for roofing Sat March 9 - March 13. Why is the Price Roofing and Company not using the forecast to also schedule the roofing job?

BBB are you able to assist in the refund process with this company? Since their claim of rain as the most recent delay no install date has been set even tho there have been several ideal days that any reasonable person could figure out. The company has provided plenty of reasons why they couldn't do the work but never once a day they actually could do the work. According to the recent reviews they are doing other jobs without issue, this would indicate that they are intentionally not completing the work I paid them for and not being truthful about the reasons they can't complete the work on my home. They also haven't responded within your requested time frame, however have a A+ rating. This may mislead consumers doing research.Business Response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, the roof was installed on Friday May 31st. The install process was done in about a half a day and there was only one issue at install. The company promised some upgrades for the wait, however did not do the upgrades they stated initially. They stated they did some other upgrades but I wasnt able to validate. I asked for the email record of the upgrades they promised but the new contact didnt have as a previous employer emailed. The main issue is it took 9 months. The companys BBB rating should not be A+. The company refused to refund the project even though they knew they couldnt do the work on time. The company literally forgot they didnt do the job for 2 months. The company used weather as their justification for not doing the work, when anyone with ****** could identify a half a day without rain.
Please make sure the review is updated accordingly and please adjust the companys rating accordingly.
I am relieved the process is over with the company, and it is paramount that others know what they are getting in to working with the company after payment has been made.

Hello,
We are not sure about ****************' unrelated political issues mentioned in his complaint with our owner, Mr. *********************** However, when it comes to his roofing job, **************** called us directly to do a roof on his mothers house and handled the entire job - all communications, decisions, and other related topics were all handled directly with ****************. We never once spoke to his mother and all documents had his name on them - estimate, invoice, etc. With this being the case, this would not be considered a "referral" and he would not be eligible to collect a referral fee for the job we completed on his mothers home.

**************** is correct in saying that his Venmo was requested by our ****** as that would have been the way we would have sent the referral bonus if it was a qualifying job. However, after reviewing ****************' file, this was not deemed as a "referral" as the entire transaction and invoices and estimates were all under his name - not his mother. We did not ever speak to his mother.
Each customer who refers us a friend or family member will receive up to $500* for making that referral. This is clearly stated on our social media and website. **************** did not refer anyone and directly handled this entire transaction between himself and our company.
We do not keep up with personal matters that ****** or him have text that are outside and beyond the scope of work and conducted on ****** Price's personal cell. The phone text that **************** are submitting about matters outside the scope of work were all done from ******** personal cell and are unrelated. Therefore, we will not be addressing ****************' portion of this complaint that is not part of the job that was completed. He received a quality install in a timely fashion and great customer service. The roof is warrantied with 3 year workmanship warranty and a lifetime limited warranty on the shingles. There is nothing he can review that would be a negative about the job or installation of the product he paid for and therefore any negative review should be reviewed by the BBB for compliancy and relation to the claim/install itself.**************** has made this a personal issue and if he chooses to write a negative review, he'd be the first review we have that isn't 5-star.
