    In June/July of 2023 I spoke with ***************************** of Denco Construction about performing a finishing repair in a bathtub that is in the home I just purchased. The finish was peeling and he agreed to do the job for $550. The job was to entail stripping the current finish off and reapplying the new finish as discussed over the phone. The repair was initially completed on July 27th. I didnt move into the house until August 8th. I notified ***** that the repair was not properly done and failing on August 10th. On Aug 14th he apologized and admitted the installer had used bad product (expired or ruined due to heat). He also admitted that the contractor felt he could just cover up the original issue and a complete strip of the tub wasnt required. But after seeing the tub ***** acknowledged that wasnt true. He came to my house on Aug 17th and agreed the job was not acceptable and he was going to get with his installer to re do the job. He cancelled the repair on the 22nd due to installer availability. I finally got his company to come out on Sep 21 (a month later after numerous calls). Instead of properly stripping the tub and correctly repairing it, the contractor again just put another coat on that still had the same defects as before. This only exacerbated the existing issue. I notified ***** the next morning that the repair was unacceptable. At this point he stopped responding to emails. I spoke with him on the phone several times over the course of the next month trying to get him back out to fix the tub. He kept providing excuses. Finally he said he couldnt get in touch with his contractor and he was going to have to just give me a refund. I accepted that and provided him several ways to do so. After several weeks he said he would mail a check to me on Dec 14th. The check never came. I didnt press the issue between the holidays because I didnt want to financially burden him. I reached back out since Dec 26 several times. He is ignoring all communication.
