Looked at car on 6/24/24 and was pretty much pushed into the deal, well not even 12 hours in it breaks down. Upset we requested our down payment back or trade for the vehicle we really wanted anyway. Well fast forward a week and they are already calling for a payment, it was not due until 8/3/24, and we told them wed have a payment by the next week plus another month. Well they decided to harass and stalk my mother in the vehicle and even stole our tag and slashed a tired. Never in my experience of car buying have I had to deal with such criminals. Also I had my lawyer review the contract only to find many flaws making the contract void.

We had tax payments set up for payment on 7/6, 7/20, and 8/3, after waiting 3 days for the first tax payment we sent our guy out to pick up the vehicle. Our guy made contact with ************************** mother and she said she was coming in to pay. She shows up at the lot and stays here for about a hour and then tells us she needs to go to the bank to get the money but I'm not going to run. We waited til the next morning for her to come in with the money to pay which she didn't our guy went back out to pick up the car and everytime he would get close to the car she would run and put people around in danger by driving reckless to get away. We pay the taxes for our customer up front and expect them to pay us back within the first ***** days of the contract as stated in the contract. This is a perfect example of someone not being honest about coming in to pay and trying to keep a car without following the contract they signed. If you have any other questions feel free to contact us.

I am rejecting this response because: These guys were the only ones being dishonest. The contract states it was not a tax payment at all, but a deferred down payment. As for driving irresponsible that was all them. So we are still awaiting our money back or the vehicle. We are in contact with a lawyer and will proceed to *** if nothing else is resolved.

      Sincerely,

We have the contract that shows the taxes were divided into three payments that are paid before the first car note is due. They defaulted on the first tax payment and his mother came in to pay the first one and then told us she needed to go to the bank to get the money and started running from us at that point. She gave us her word she was going straight to the bank and then back to the lot to pay. Our contract states that there are three payment for the taxes and they had no intention on paying them. If there was no payment due why was the mother here telling us she needed to go to the bank to get the money and give us her word she would not run from us. Their lawyer is more then welcome to contact our lawyer to discuss this matter. There will not be any returning the car or money in this situation

My mother did not say she was going to a bank to get money to pay them. They essentially held her hostage until she told them she needed to go to work. This business is full of liars and thieves and we are in the process of suing them as of last week.

I purchased a vehicle on 3/27/24 at wood motors. 10 mins after I left the engine light came on the car broke down that night i returned the car at 9:30am and they told me that it ran hot and that there was nothing I could do. I spent ********************************************************************************* to get anything for the same value. I didnt have the car 24 hours. Now Im out of 1900 dollars and still no car. A worker admitted to not test driving the car before even putting it on the lot to sell.

**************** did call after she left and we asked her to come back and let us check the vehicle. She declined that offer and had it checked at Auto Zone and found out it was a thermostat. Instead of not driving the vehicle she drove it all night. We sell all of our vehicles per state guidelines "AS IS" unless they purchase a warranty. We are sorry that this happened but it could have been easily avoided by not driving the vehicle until it was checked out.

My family has had an absolutely disheartening experience with Wood Motor Company. My niece, ***************************, saved her money, **** to purchase a vehicle from the ********** location. My niece is young and works harder than anyone I know. While working a full time job she also takes care of her grandparents. Her grandfather is a double amputee, diabetic and heart patient and requires a lot of care that she so graciously has stepped up to give him at 21 years old. 3 weeks after purchasing the vehicle, used to take him to and from appointments, the car blew up. The mechanic has said it needs a whole new engine. After repeatedly trying to contact the office and *****************, we were finally able to speak with him. His response was that it is her problem and he will not fix or replace the car, period, that was it. This is a buy here, pay here company, no third party was ever involved. He refused to answer anymore calls from our family and left them not only stranded with no vehicle, but also has taken this young girls money that she worked tirelessly to earn so she could properly care for her family. I started trying to help with ****** reviews to try to let the community know the kind of heart this company lacks. While reading other reviews from other customers, I now realize that this is something that happens often with this company! These people are giving their down payments and being sold lemons and then left without a vehicle, they cant afford to fix these huge issues or giving the car back because of non payment and the company still keeps the money and the car and repeats the cycle. Something needs to be done. After **** saw my ****** review and his own name being shamed, he called my niece and made it sound like they would do something to fix the problem. His remedy to this situation was for her to pay them **** more for them to fix the car. They might as well robbed the girl on the street of her ***** and then make her pay **** to get it back.

All vehicles are sold "AS IS" in the *********** that is why we allow customers to test drive and inspect the vehicle before purchase. She signed all the proper paperwork stating she understood it was AS IS and that she test drove and had the right to have it inspected by anyone she wanted. I wish we knew when a vehicle was going to have some trouble so we could fix it before we sold it. The best we can do is let customers test drive and check them out.

I got a car from them in January. It had 3 major oil leaks (front seal, rear main, and valve cover gasket) when I heard a rattling sound and dropped it off at a repair shop. They couldn't repair the rear main leak, so I took it to another shop that could, and to find out what else was wrong with it. The 2nd half of the taxes were due 4 weeks after I left the lot with the car, but I was 2 days late because I had to wait for them to get to my car, because they were a week behind from being off on the holidays. I talked to someone at Wood Motor and explained the situation with the car and that I wanted to find out what all was wrong with it and if it was too expensive I would return the car. They said they would wait for me. An hour or so later I got a call from the repair shop telling me they came to pick up the car. It was obvious they did not want me to find out what all was wrong with the car. I called Wood Motor and was then told they came to pick it up because I was 2 days late on payment, and I had 10 days to come by and pay what I owed, which was half of the taxes. I came back about 3 days later to pay so I can drop it off again for further diagnosis and repair. They told me that I had to pay the entire loan to leave with it because the car was abandoned at the repair shop. Why would I bring in a car and pay for repairs if I'm abandoning it? I had money for the half of the taxes owed, not the entire loan. They then put the car back to the front of the lot to sell it to someone else without fixing it. When I called to ask for my money back they said no, and when I mentioned the oil leaks they told me it doesn't leak at all.

When we sell a vehicle by law we have to sell it "As Is" but before we sell the vehicle the customer test drives the vehicle and has the right to take the vehicle and get it inspected by anyone they choose.  We have reached out to the customer on different occasions but the customer does not answer the call. If you have any other questions please feel free to email us back and we will be glad to help anyway possible.
