Made purchase deal with dealer 5/10/25 which included checking transmission and all fluids in contract. Picked up 5/17/25. Transmission went out on way home from purchasing. Transmission shuddering and grinding. Had trans inspected by another ** dealer as requested by Wilson GMC. Upon inspection, it was diagnosed as a 3-5 clutch bad. Transmission fluid black and full of metal. Rear end 1 quart low, front end low. No sign of wrench or dust prints or oil signifying it was actually checked at Wilson GMC. Pictures taken for record. Have only driven truck home from Wilson and to my local ** dealer for diagnosis. Local ** dealer says that there is no way the transmission was checked at Wilson. If they had checked, they would have seen the black fluid. However, Wilson claims it was checked, so in that case, they would have seen that the fluid was black, and they knowingly sent it out with a problem undisclosed to the buyer. The ** dealer local to me said that there was no way that fluid would turn black in the 200 miles that it was driven since leaving Wilson County Motors. Diagnosis is transmission replacement at a cost of $6376.33. There are only two possible scenarios.1. Either they didnt check after they were supposed to as part of our deal. Had they checked it, the fluid would have been black and I would have forfeited the non ref. deposit and walked away.2. If they did indeed check it as they say, then they saw the fluid was black and sent it out and sold it with an undisclosed problem. The other fluids were left drastically low. They then tried to tell me everything was fine in which if they had truly checked it, it was not.We signed the as-is statement under the assumption that all the vehicle fluids wouldve been inspected as that was part of the deal of purchase. Either the fluid was checked and sent out with a known problem, or it was neglected to be checked going against our deal we made with the dealership for the purchase. Dealer shows no concern.Business Response

Mr. ******,
I am extremely sorry that you had a repair issue with your vehicle after purchase. As you stated, you were fully aware that due to the very high mileage of the vehicle you agreed to purchase it as-is with no warranty. We go way out of our way to ensure that we are very clear about that and the customer understands the risks when selling such high mileage vehicles. We also will not retail any vehicle that we have any suspicion that it is not mechanically sound, and your truck showed no indication of a transmission or any other concern when you took delivery. Furthermore, our records show that we did top off the fluids in your vehicle. Regardless of these facts we have offered to reimburse you for part of the repair and that offer still stands.
Very sincerely,
******* ****

I understand that the dealership reportedly did not find any flaws during their test drive of the vehicle. I also am aware that the Experian AutoCheck report that the dealership uses does show that the dealership serviced the transmission and driveline on the truck on May 12, 2025. However, what is put on database records does not always tell the actual story of what happened. After getting home from the Wilson County and taking the truck to another ** dealer, only then does the true story unfold. The facts and proof shows that the rear end was 1 quart low, front end low, and antifreeze low. The other ** dealer also said that the fluids would not be that low in 200 miles since leaving Wilson County Motors. There are no apparent leaks upon inspection. They also assured that the fluid was black and it was full of metal. Beyond reasonable doubt, they assured that it would have not turned black in the 200 miles driven since leaving your dealership, and that if it was truly checked, black fluid would have been found before picking up the vehicle at Wilson County Motors. Pictures were taken of the fluid sample and lack of prior markings that would otherwise indicate that the fluids were checked. This shows that Wilson County Motors did not check the fluids as warranted in our deal. The as-is where-is was signed on good faith that Wilson County Motors upheld their end of the deal. Without the proof that I do have showing reasonable doubt, I understand that it would be implausible to contemplate whether your employees actually did their required job or if it was simply typed on the computer saying that they did, but facts show that the information your record shows and the service that was actually done do not coincide.
Sincerely,

I'm not sure what the concern still is. I agreed a couple of weeks ago to pay for half of the repair, as you requested. If there is something I am missing, please email me at ******************************** and I'll do my best to resolve it today.

This complaint is not resolved. The dealership has offered to pay half of the amount of the transmission replacement. I have not received a check from the dealership, and will not until the transmission is installed and the Wilson County dealer receives the receipt from my local ** dealer installing it. The transmission is on backorder from ** and has no estimated date for shipment, which means that there is no end to this situation in the immediate future. This is beginning the third month that I have been without a vehicle to drive which has caused undue hardship. The dealership offered to pay half which I reluctantly agreed to. They also sent a release form that they want me to sign that I dont agree to parts of. According to the way that I understand it due to complicated legal wording, the release form states that the dealership has authority to take the form that I sign to a judge to have it declared as invalid so the dealership can get back the money that they send. This makes it sound like that they will pay and then will intend to get their money back through the legal system that would allow me no recourse. I would agree to a document that implicitly states the following:
1. Customer will mark ******************** complaint as resolved upon completion of job required to replace vehicle transmission that Wilson County dealership failed to inspect upon sales contract agreement.
2. Customer will not hold dealership liable for any other problem following repair of said items listed in prior documents in future.
After receiving the release form from the dealership, I had it sent to an attorneys office for review. I did speak to ******* **** and we both agree that we want the situation resolved. So, once the transmission becomes available and installed, I look forward to resolving it with BBB and Wilson County Motors, but until then, this complaint is not resolved as the agreement has not been fulfilled.Customer Answer

Complaint is still not resolved. Dealership has not responded to multiple phone calls and I have not received payment. Here is a copy of the invoice for repairs that were necessitated by my local ** dealership to repair the truck to what they consider a safe drivable condition. After enduring over two months of being without a vehicle at all to drive, the truck can now hopefully be driven. The total cost I have paid thus far is $7371.62. Only $305 of that invoice was by choice in having another key made for the vehicle. However, $7066.62 of that is the total that I paid in order for the local dealership to make necessary repairs to fix the vehicle that they felt was overlooked by Wilson County Motors. They replaced the transmission as we previously discussed that was necessary following diagnosis of slipping and of black metallic contaminated fluid upon initial inspection by local GM Dealer. In addition to the transmission, they recommended that the oil cooler lines be replaced due to leaking and dripping which could inadvertently cause engine damage when the crimp comes loose. The technician said it had been leaking for a while and was leaking enough currently to drip on to the front differential cover and then on to the ground. The day I looked at the truck before I bought it in May, I noticed a drip under the truck and **** suggested that it was probably just power steering fluid from when he filled it up. I took his word for it, but I took pictures of the leak on the ground of dealer parking lot on May 10th. Half of the repairs will be $3533.31. The local dealership said that the leaking oil line and transmission should have been flagged in the presale inspection that the truck was supposed to go through. I have been without a vehicle at all to drive for over two months. This needs to be resolved immediately.
Wilson GMC sent a release form for me to sign that basically says, in one section, that they have the right to take the form to a judge to have it marked as invalid as means to get their money back.
As for the document to sign, the attorneys office that looked over it, suggested that I didnt sign it. It was suggested that I sign a document that simply states that following my receiving of their check for half of the amount of the cost of the invoice required to get the truck to being drivable standards, following waiting two months without a vehicle to drive, that I would not pursue Wilson County Motors in the future for anything else regarding the purchase of the truck or the negligence by the dealership to adhere the original purchase agreement with Wilson County Motors. From that point, the matter would be considered resolved.

I purchased my car new at Sieera Chevrolet in ******** **. Since 2021 I have been dealing with Wilson County Motors for service on my 2020 Malibu. The issue is on passenger side bumper around headlight. It looks to me like its warped, in which causes the bumper to pull away from assembly causing bumper to fall doward and loose. It becomes loose when i drive on interstate or force from pressure of road, wind ect. I have been dealing with getting this fixed and no resolution. I took my car to Wilson County motors for issue many time. One time before this time I think May 4th, 2023 and thinking it was 2 times before this time. However i never was called about car having to be painted due to tech supposedly knocked paint off upon doing repairs. Now i called todayabout status on bumper repair and was told by **** my car must have been in a collision and the issue cannot be fixed under warranty. My car has never been in collision. i am thinking the one time they had it and had to paint finder and bumper maybe someone there may have had collision, i think this now because why would they need to paint my car and never called me to tell me until day i picked it up. My bumper has issues and not at my cause. It been like this since i purchased and have been addressing isue since October 2020. Now dealership claims i must had collision. Which is nto true. The dealership claimed to put new clips in and afterwards 2 times i had to take it back in for same problem. When i drive my car on interstate is when the bumper comes loose from passenger side. Car has ***** miles on it. So i drive very little. My neighbor is with me 95% when i drive. Never has my car been in any accident, not by me. Maybe someone from dealership did that one time when they had to paint bumper and fender. Remember i was not informed of this until day i picked it up. I want my bumper fixed or out of this car. Since its been this way since i purchased this car new in October 2020. Dangerous bumper.Business Response

**********,
Good afternoon. I would be more than happy to take a look at your bumper and see what can be done. If it is a defect in the workmanship or product, we will take care of it immediately as a warranty claim. If it is physical damage, we are more than happy to help you document it to file an insurance claim if that is your desire. Please contact your advisor and schedule an appointment at your convenience. I will inspect the bumper myself.
Kindest regards,

I am rejecting this response because: I assure you there isn't any physical damage to my vehicle by me at any point (NONE NOTED OR VISABLY). I firmly believe that the headlight assembly was damaged by the people who removed the bumper and damaged the supposedly. chipped paint on my bumper and fender. My request is that YOU please replace the headlight assembly and at no cost to me or my insurance. This has been an on going issue since I purchased my car with the bumper cover falling down. Since 2021. Maybe it was damaged from factory or upon delivery. I have no clue as to why my headlight assembly clips are broken as now was told. I did not do this. I will except nothing less that fixing the issue on bumper cover falling down and if it means putting headlight assembly on it, than this is what needs to be addressed to fix the bumper cover issue. Once again i did not damage my car. You bod people did and its noted they did and had to paint my car. I have pictures and video, after I picked my car up on May 19th, 2023 around 6p.m is when i did video to show that the body shop you use cannot even put all parts back onto my car. A Simple washer that goes around a bolt that holds bumper part inside under the hood. I hope this reaches you as for some reason when i select to proceed its not working on BBB website.
Sincerely,

**********:
Good morning. First, just to be clear, no one is saying that you damaged the vehicle. Someone could have easily bumped into your vehicle while it was parked. The flexible bumper could very well show no damage and still break the clips. The bumper is designed to be flexible and while those clips are strong, they will break with a slight impact by another vehicle.
Again, I am more than happy to take a look at your vehicle to see what can be done. **** will be more than happy to set up a time that works for you and I will make myself available.
Thank you,

Hello, *******
I am willing to bring my car in, though I still feel that while my car was damaged by the technician may have broken the headlight assembly upon removal of bumper cover. I do not believe my car was damaged while in parking lot at my use or when i parked my car. As stated, this issue has been ongoing since I've owned the car. Either way it is evident that I did not cause the issue. Again, I will continue to state this bumper cover issue has been like this since i purchased the car. I moved from ************** to ****************, **. is reason I use your dealership. I have been trying to get this issue fixed since 2021. I purchased my car late October 2020 and noticed the bumper cover falling off. I was told by your service department it was the pins and you put new ones in and its still falling downward, with no improvement. I will except you putting the headlight assembly in at no cost to me as stated many times and bringing it in for this issue for bumper cover. It must of been headlight assembly issue all along instead of the pins. I was told now its due to it may have been hit while parking? I am not accepting this because it's been an ongoing issue since i purchased the car. Please replace the part you all claimed as of May 19th at no cost to me as again this has been the issue i am assuming instead of the pins. I look forward to you fixing my car and making sure all parts even including a washer that was not put back on the front underneath my hood as it was from factory. Please make sure you pay great attention to my response. I MENTIONED AND WILL AGAIN, THE TECHNICIANS DID NOT put the washer under the bolt under my hood as it was meant to be there from factory. This shows me your technicians show little value to my car and or me by leaving parts off my car. I do have pictures and video, but i cannot add to this due to format. I would like to meet with you to show it to you.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/20) */
We will be happy to fix Mr. ******'s transmission and have provided him with a quote to do so.
The very first time we saw his vehicle was on 8/3/2022. It was brought here in limp mode with 173,643 miles from a competitor's garage. It would crank but not start upon arrival. We replaced the timing belt at Mr. ******'s request and it was functional when it left the dealership. Mr. ****** had the vehicle towed to the dealership almost 700 miles later and we diagnosed the transmission issue. Nothing about changing a timing belt would have any impact on the vehicle's transmission.
Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/09/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
700 miles is incorrect so that's the 1st incorrect statement. It has exactly 174,000 miles and that's half of what he said in his response statement. It sat in my driveway for months and had no leaks. I have confirmation from the tow truck driver as proof. My wife drove it to work and back only noticing it didn't drive right from the beginning of receiving it back from the dealership. We've been the only owners of this vehicle with my wife as the main driver. Never ever had transmission issues or any leaks ever until receiving it back from getting the timing chain "fixed". I'm not asking for any money but I am asking that it be fixed as we put our trust in your dealership and service department. The transmission is cracked it was interstate and parking garage kept in those 300+ miles (not 700 as he stated). We didn't notice it leaking right away as we thought it was water from running the air, however discovered it was not water but in fact transmission fluid.
Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/10/04) */
Mr. ****** - The mileage difference is from the repair orders from when we took the vehicle in each time. I'm sorry you have an issue with your transmission but repairing a timing belt would not cause a transmission to crack.
