    Horrible service, and no professionalism, replying to texts with “k” and not taking accountability. We took my Irish doodle in for a cut because her coat had gotten longer when I picked her up she was completely shaved. We had asked for the cut to be short because everyone that knows about doodles means a short cut is long enough to still have a wave to it; however, she was completely shaved when picked up not to mention they cut her nail down all the way to where it kept bleeding for hours when she got home and apparently ruptured the scab. When we emailed about the service our dog had received the reply was as follows “I’m not sure where to start.. let’s start with the haircut. When you tell the groomer a short summer cut, that means shaved short to them. You will need to be more specific on length since “short” has a different meaning to some. Second, I apologize about the nail bleeding; we try to get the nails as short as we can and sometimes the tool can take a little more off than need be. It will usually clot on its own unless she is continuously walking on it. I wish we had noticed before she left, but we honestly didnt see it as nails are the last thing we do. Third.. I want to say I am not “professional” in a sense. I have been running this business for 15ys and built it from the ground up. I speak and act toward my customers with respect, but also how I would treat a friend or a neighbor. So if “professional” is what you are looking for, this isn’t the place for you. Tracy” That was the email we had received in response to this. The haircut took 5 hours… after we were asked to drop her off early. With all things considered it seems as though they took the fast and lazy route with the cut to hurry and get her out and then cut her nail too short and it started bleeding there so they had to clot it and keep her there for extra time and yet still refused to tell us they had cut her nail to the point where it wouldn’t stop bleeding for hours. Yet they’re A+?

    This couple asked for a “short summer cut”, which to most groomers means short. She was done in a #7 after a bath and blow dry. Nails are the last thing we file down with a rotary tool, they are not cut; that nail was not bleeding that we had noticed so we were not trying to hide anything! Most doodle grooms take 4-5hrs during our busy season; this the reason for asking them to drop off earlier than they had scheduled on line. In the last 15yrs of business I have seen several different types of doodles and never heard “everyone knows a short cut means still leaving a wave to it”. Apparently I’ve been doing it wrong all these years!
     I also believe this young couple have higher standard of expectations on how they should be spoken to in a text or email if they think a simple “k ty” text was unprofessional. I treat each and every customer with respect and politeness and as an equal peer! That’s how I have an “A+” rating!! Just because I am a business owner doesn’t mean I have to be belittled and bullied!! Respect and Courtesy is a two-way street!
