Don't take your car here unless you want to pay double. On a trip out of town my car breaks down, gets towed to Toyota Knoxville. The service manager goes on and on about how the part fixed earlier in the week by another shop was faulty and not a "Toyota" brand part. I approve getting it fixed because what else am I to do with it still being out of state and not close to home. I get a call back about 2 hours later - it's fixed ready to go. The price is double what I paid just a few days earlier, but I'm in a rush to get the rental car returned before they close and charge me another day too. Thinking holy smokes that "Toyota" part must have been outrageously priced. Read the details when I get home. They charged me $629 for less than 2 hours of labor. I call around to see what other Toyota dealers would charge for that same exact fix. Every single one was almost half of what I was charged at Toyota Knoxville. I call and finally get to talk to the guy and he says I'm charged 3.7 hours - their "standard" for the job. Even though it was less than 2 hrs to fix. Talk to the service director who gave me different hours and costs to get to that $629. So now I know someone is lying to me and I've totally been taken advantage of. I call him out on this, lay out the details - he says he will "review the calls" and get back to me. I of course have to track him back down - the recorded calls are "lost" and he argues that this was what anyone would charge for this work. Which is absolutely NOT true because I got several quotes - plus what I paid prior to back up that I was in fact overcharged by them. Basically I was told too bad because I already paid for it and that's their cost. Save yourself the grief and money - do NOT take your car here.
