      I vacated a rental residence on 12/31/23.

      I notified the HUD of this, in writing, and requested the closing of my account more than 30 days prior to vacating the premises.

      They have continued to bill me for the useage of the current resident or owner (which I paid in good will through April of 2024) and threatened to turn all balances over to a collections agency.

      This matter has already been resolved.  A detailed email as follow up was sent to the customer and is provided below.  Hixson Utility communicated with Mr. ******* twice (4 months apart) regarding his request to close his account.  Accounts cannot be closed via email, as security information must be verified before a meter/service is locked out/discontinued.  

      I have attached the final email communication with Mr. *******.
