Down payment check written 10/22/2021. Work done on 10/27/2021 with final payment given. Total amount paid $5,500. We hired him to grade around our house to protect it from flooding. I showed him pictures of the flooding and explained how the water comes up. He guaranteed me he could protect our house from flooding. He said he would add gravel and dirt around the house to grade it, build a wall around our crawlspace to keep water from getting in but could still access the crawlspace, would screen over our crawlspace vents so the dirt could be piled high but wouldn't get into the crawlspace and he would reseed and cover it with straw when he was done. The work is incredibly sloppy and isn't properly graded. The dirt is VERY chunky because it was wet when it was delivered and he didn't take the time to smooth it out. He rushed the job because he rented a skid steer which leaked on the road staining it. His brick barrier consisted of stacking cinder blocks on uneven ground, dumping concrete mix in the holes and spraying it with a hose. He never put anything over the crawlspace vents. The dirt didn't even go that high. He didn't even use a whole bag of grass seed. And he threw trash from our yard into our neighbor's bushes. I asked him to put the pulled up rose bushes in our fire pit and he left them under a tree. I told him the very next day that I was not happy with the result and threatened to cancel the final payment check until he came back and fixed it. I ended up not cancelling the check because he told me he would come back. Now he won't give me a date and keeps putting me off. I don't feel like we got what we paid for. I was never even given a price break down but he says he spent $2,000 on the dirt alone. I highly doubt it. I found him on ****** and recently realized one of the "reviews" is by his "wife" who also works with him. I feel completely taken advantage of. I'd like a refund because I now have to redo everything.
