I have a home warranty and have had an AC issue on a 3.5yr old unit for almost 2 years now. The warranty company sent out Allen from M&A the last 5 times for repeat calls. He is the owner and only tech at this company so does what he wants and has no accountability. He has "attempted" to repair my ac several times failing all times for what I now believe is the scam of "repeat calls" which happens with contractors works with warranty companies. I say this because he came out for a repeat call recently after the same issue of my split system upstairs AC unit has continued to run and not reach set temperature after running for 20 hrs a day and never reaching it until late at night when it's cool outside. The first two years we had the system it was perfect and ice cold upstairs even on 100 degree days. He's done so much to this unit I can't even begin to describe it all. The last call he said it was the evaporator coil and replaced it. He had a guy with him I asked him a question when bringing down the old coil and he said he's just a helper and doesn't know. Supposedly it was fixed then but it wasn't. He was called back out recently for the same issue and said this time "the coils were dirty" which I was skeptical of but he assured me they were. He said he cleaned them with a chemical and then hosed them out and all kinds of stuff came out. I felt that this wasn't right but I just wanted it fixed and trusted him. He said the home warranty wouldn't cover it because it's considered normal maintenance so he would need $100 for his time. Naive enough I paid him thinking it was fixed even though I had a $0 deductible because it was a repeat call. The next day the same problem again. I called him and he said there is nothing wrong and it will run all the time on hot days. I knew this wasn't true as I know how it used to run and is fairly new. It never reaches optimal temp and used too. I checked my cameras and he did not spray my coils off with the hose as he said he did. He was in and out in 15 minutes. *********************************************** *************************************************************** *************************** A new contractor came out and he put the gauges on and they were where they should be so he Thought he would just watch them for a few minutes. When he did he noticed the gauges going up and down very slowly so he knew something was off. He checked all of the register air temps throughout the upstairs and they all were reading a bit different. He went into the attic and as you will see in the pictures found a hack job that Allen at M&A HVAC did. During one of the several calls to fix the same issue Allen replaced the evaporator coil. You can see it was a very botched job. The evaporator coil isn't even in there right and then he tried to put masking tape to seal the corners. Very shorty job. You can see that gaping hole in the first picture is letting cold air blow out into the attic. The second picture shows where the ductwork was either stepped on or ripped apart so they could have air blowing on them while they worked as it is hot up there. Keep in mind all of this was brand new installed 3.5 years ago and perfect before he came in. The third picture is two lines he installed for a filter and that gaping hole is also blowing out cold air. So all of the air is blowing into the attic which means there is not enough air or pressure blowing throughout the upstairs in order to get to optimal temperature. The New company that came out said he's been going behind Allen's work for years fixing it. The new guy said it's an absolute hack job by M&A so it's one of 3 things
