* Notify the collection agency in writing via certified return receipt mail of your dispute within 30 days of receipt of the collection notice. Be sure to send a copy to the original creditor seeking their assistance in resolving the dispute.
* Request that all communication be done in writing and keep copies of all correspondence sent and received.
* Allow the collection agency 30 days upon receipt of the written dispute to obtain verification of the debt and/or supply a copy of the judgment.
